  • Elvis once said "I'm so lonesome I could cry" was thae saddest song he'd ever heard...

Hank's music will always be the true sound of country music.

  • I've introduced my baby nephew to all the old good music. Like Hank Williams for instance. My nephew which is almost 3 loves his music and sings it. I wish more people loved real music like the few of us in this world...

  • so sad i didnt get to live in his time... gosh this new generation sucks so much! now a days music is all about the thythm, beats and teckno stuff. WHERE has all real music gone to! the stories that meant something, the sound that touches our heart! now i have to dig deep for good music! :/

  • all i want to know is who in the hell was the 21 dislikes

  • Got to know Hank, from Shawshank

  • He is definitely on my Id love to fuck list. There was Something very sexy about him

  • my first favorite musician.. his life was too short. :(

  • @009gman perfectly short

  • If I had a time machine.......

  • hank will live forever

  • Let us see today's country singers top this.

  • GOD i love hank williams this is by far the best song

  • great song

  • the best then the best now

  • Thanks for the country music education.

  • This is the best version no one can do this like Hank

  • hey i just posted hanks home recorded version of this with just him and his guitar if anyones interested its differant from this version

  • This is fu..ing good music!!! greetz from Bavaria....

  • Hank is best no arguement even chuck norris cant argue with that but how come on most lists he is number 2 under johnny cash?

honestly hank accomplished more in his 29 years than johnny cash in his whole lifetime but johnny is still a good singer but hank all the way

  • Nothing like a Hank song.

    Thank you for sharing this.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • wow todays country music is terrible by comparison

  • thank you so much for makin this

  • Don't much care if Grand Ole Opry reinstates Hank. I love Hank, don't much care for the Grand Ole Opry. Whenever I think of Hank, I remember my dad, who loved Hank. Whenever I think of Grand Ole Opry, I think of conservative politics taking from us little people and giving it to the rich, the exact opposite of what Hank was about.

  • its not honky tonk blues its im so lonesome i could i could cry

  • @Warcraft650 hi you:-) honky tonk comes after the first track just waitin´;-)

  • @Warcraft650 fast forward to 2:12

  • We have a vid of the new Hank co-written song on our channel. Glenn Tubb got the lyrics from Audrey and the song was not finished and released till last year

  • my dad has always loved hank since he was young god blesse him

  • The Opry sux cuz they wont re-instate Hank...

  • great song

  • great - erkele

  • I'm so lonesome, cold cold heart, move it on over -- these songs are HW's autobiography. he wrote a song every time he was spurned, scorned or sliced up like baloney. But the man was a crazed alcoholic. He once drank a quart of denatured rubbing alcohol mixed into a giant bowl of tomato juice after his bandmates took away all his liquor and locked him in a hotel room to keep him sober for a gig. aint it a shame.

  • @BluesHonkey how did he die - was it his drinking

  • @me2ontube An overdose of painkillers for his spinal condition...and probably a bit of liquor.

  • what movie is this from? :)

  • my goodness every song is unforgetable and what a story they tell. What meaning why can't songs be wrote like this anymore?

  • @hussnfussel7 cuz true legends are few and far between ... country or otherwise

  • i would have loved to see him do a version of freebird

  • I bet that was a very sad day in all of country music.

  • Longfoot, pay no attention to the "idjuts", and consider the source. I loved the video, watched it several times!

  • Alright! Keepin the soul of country alive!

  • Live hard, die young, leave a beautiful corpse.

  • I REMEMBER When This Was Just Music!!!

. . . we didn't have Country and Western Back

    in the late 50's ... early 60's!!!

  • Hank was Daddy's favorite hillbilly singer. I only saw Daddy cry 3 times in my life...when his father died, when Hank died, and his foxhound, Hank, died.

  • 16 dislikes? Those 16 people must be def!

  • the worlds a much changing

  • Hank conncected to people with his voice like few other before or after.

  • Great Great Great ...Just great !!!

  • You should check out this guy if you get a chance, he auditioned for BGT and didn't even make it past the first round.

search - Britains got talent reject Dave Lennard and see what you think, thanks

  • Nobody has that swagger, not even Presley. If you don't get it, then just move along. There are plenty of Lady CA CA videos for you.

The only way you can berate Hank is from the privacy of your bedroom, with a keyboard. I double dog dare you to do it in public. You know what you would get.

That makes you a coward, by anyone's standards.

  • What a fabulous video - well done, love Hank!

  • Who called this song Honky Tonk Blues when we all know it's I'm so lonesome I could cry.

  • @daytoneman fast forward to 2:13 thats where it starts

  • i know this is inapropriate, but our math teachers gonna wear a dd bra, size 10 (girls) bikini (he's a guy,50 yrs) and a giant lime head

  • Another classic country gem.

  • Wish I was around then!

  • Nashville WAKE UP!!!!!! We the People demand, need, and desire more like that as Hank Sr.. Time to give up the murder on music row, and give to those who have been here when you were out.

  • @longfoot this is a public forum, not your hillbilly shack

  • Just imagine what more great music we would have had had Hank lived a litle bit longer. No matter what that silly Hall of Fame says or does, we all know that Hank is & always will be The King of country. Thank for posting this awesome song!

  • i dont no to much about hank williams as i was born 75 but i do like the songs ive herd thanks for this

  • Not the correct song

  • somewhere on youtube is footage of hank jr at his induction ceremony telling the board to go fuck themselves

  • This isn't the Honky Tonk Blues.

  • @sublimeruca27 Honky Tonk Blues begins later in this video.

  • A genuine talent and star. There is a video biography of him available on vhs (probably find it on ebay). There was also a biographical film starring George Hamilton IV which I thought was really good. His lyrics are totally amazing - Im so lonesome I could cry is so original - love it.

  • i dont know if theres any movies on hank williams sr but if somebodys got the money and the right people i bet they could make a damn good oscar awarding movie about him, be a cool dribute to the good ole boy

  • I remember standing on my daddy's feet and dancing to this song when i was a wee one.

  • im 13. i love hank williams music. nothing will stop me from lovin his music

  • people think im weard couse im 17...and i love hank w.

  • @jackbug333 im 17 too and i love this stuff. dont care what people think about it. or me cause i listen to it.

  • awesome

  • awesome stuff, hits the nerve right where it counts! damn thats good stuff

  • Guess ... The Good Lord Was Not Willing!!!!

  • One of the greatest real county songwriters singer.

  • I grew up listening to this music. My Father was a big Hank fan. This one is for you Dad!!!!

  • the man was a god

  • amazing!!

  • how many people can honestly say they made an impact in the world by 29?

  • Is it true that there is a backward message in this song? I've heard that if you play it backwards you clearly hear: "I, white Zombie, ruler of nation, shall pave the way for white supremacy. Give the universe to Lucifer, dark lord. To hell with christ! Now, go fuck yourself!". Have anybody heard about this?

  • @Ram0nZarate spello that backwards and see what you get....thats your answer

  • @Ram0nZarate It's called pareidolia. Your mind is playing tricks on you similar like when you see an animal shaped cloud.

  • what is the documentary that this is from? seems like a good one. hank is the man... nice to see hank III too.

  • The Grand Ole Opry should reinstate Hank or stop riding on the man's coat tails.

  • i kno a ole timer used to rent his house to him n he said there was more than one occasion in the late hours of the night hanks drunk shootin up the place lol n he said he was a hell of a poker player always drunk 2 lol rip hank

  • wrong song

  • Hank will always be the best.

    No one is like him.

    Pure Country.

    Pure genius.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • If the good lord's a willin and the creeks don't rise...They just do not make em like that anymore!!! The Original

  • He was the best and will be always the best one...

    Rest in peace Hank

    you are the man!

  • whats that song that goes on first?

  • @TheLegitkillz "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"

  • Is some smart-ass going to say Hank Sr. ripped off a black song writer now? Like they are saying about Creedence? Fuck You.

  • "It's got us quite a few beans and biscuits!"

  • Have this CD too! Thanks amanda to Jenny!:o RIP

  • Comment removed

  • excellent!!!! superstardom, what it does to the person. Look at Elvis, another tragic life ended way to soon.

  • My wife's late Dad used to sing Hank songs.....timeless stuff, I love that pedal steel, Mike

  • Is that George Jones to Hank's left at 2:52?

  • I remeber hank my daddy always played him so did mom love

  • I was so proud to stand at the very microphone Hank Sr. sang from at the old Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

  • gaaay

  • @Alanok9b go fuck u self!

  • @Alanok9b your fucking gay

  • Beautiful and anthentic .Thanck you very much, i like this video.

    Georges.

  • .......a man for all seasons.....and feelings!!!

  • It doesn't get more country than Hank!!

  • totally irrelevant comment (regarding this great documentary) but where the hell is the "history" function in these new youtube pages????? help, anyone?

  • now thats a country boy

  • uhmm. uhmm. love Hank.

  • When you listen to prime eras of every genre in Country, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Broadway, etc. - all to be equally appreciated in their ongoing fertility, relevance and individualism. They may not be the roots, themselves, but the roots to so much of what forms our culture. And they sound real, and real good to me now!

  • Man I dont get why these ut comments turn into nasty fights, then dirty brawls. You all should keep that at home, YOUR homes not mine. Hank go spook em.

  • @longfoot You tell em !!

  • @longfoot Yes Sir

  • I didn't know Hank Williams had Autism...

  • @wjoh4351 lmfao, you sir, are stupid

  • Restore Hank Sr to the Country Music Hall of Fame!!

  • @iagmule He's too good for em.

  • @iagmule

  • To iagmule > Hank Sr. was removed from the hall of fame?

  • @neatoauctions they removed him as a result of his drinking, carousing and partying

  • To iagmule

Are you certain?!! Are there any musisians who do noot or have not done those things? Geeesusss, each and every Country song ever writen preaches alcohol, and all that. You can't be right. People, is this right?

  • @neatoauctions i signed a petition acouple of months ago. his grandson(hank the 3rd) has a facebook page dedicated to restoring Sr to his rightful place. And they let Rascall Fatts in the hall....tsk tsk

  • TO iagmule

You "signed a petition"?!! What about those who are IN the CM Hall of Fame?!! It is they who should insist that their name be withdrawn from the Hall, and let the walls of that organization crumble unless Williams is placed back into the exalted position he once held. Period.

Except for a very few C&W songs and the complete soundtrack of Smokey & the Bandit, I don't even like C&W music. Yet, Hank Williams is SOLID GOLD. (and Jerry Reed too, of course)

  • @iagmule Rascal Flatts are not Country Music Hall of Fame members. The guidelines state that an act must have at least 20 years charting history before even being eligible for induction. That makes RF out for at least another decade. Nor are they Opry members, for which they are eligible. (Lester Flatts is an Opry member and also an CMHoF member, but no Rascals just yet.)

  • @rebafan1983 understood and i appreciate the clarification. somebody needs to tell his son and grandson about hank sr still being in the hall of fame because they and alot of other people (myself included) are under the opinion that he membership was revoked. and because i cant help myself, any musician who has highlights and a revolving drum riser has no business with the name country. LOL cant help it, i helped produce a music video for rascall fatts and i wanted to vomit.

  • @iagmule LOL. He is and always will be in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Induction into the Hall of Fame is a lifetime one. You're likely thinking of the inane petition to reinstate Hank into the Grand Ole Opry. Since he cannot perform even once (well below the Opry's mandatory annual number) this is very impossible. Long live the legend of the greatest figure country music has ever known.

  • @iagmule well, he's in the country music hall of fame, he he hasn't ever been restored to the grand ole opry, which sticks in hank III's craw, he wrote a song about it.

  • @iagmule Is he not in the hall of fame??? He is the godfather of country...

  • @iagmule He's been there since 1961.

  • NelsonPerkins32 you see at 1:40 he inspired all the country artists after his life!

  • and if you have autism I can accept that, but that doesn't give you the right to say that Johny Cash was better he was great But HANK WILLIAMS IS THE BEST OF ALL TIME LET'S MAKE NO MISTAKE MY FRIEND!! Hank is the greatest and he will be that forever and Johny Cash had a longer life so he could sing more and then came pop and rock so he could sing that too in Hank's time there was no pop or something lik that that's why!

    Bless Hank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Without Hank Williams there was no Cash, Waylon, Kenny Rogers, Elvis, Beatles and the list goes on. Make no mistake about it...HANK WILLIAMS IS THE GREATEST COUNTRY SINGER THAT EVER LIVED!

  • You know who influenced the great Hank Williams? Yep two people who were also great Country artists Ernest Tubb and Roy Acuff, so were before him also.

  • Country Music........real Country Music

  • 1:46 And that is just a sampling!!!!

  • this brings tears to my eyes its sooo good

  • Green Acres is the place for me

  • hank's my nigga. it was his music and a few cigarettes that brought my fiance and i together

  • grand old opry ???? fuck them they kicked hank out ...he was a great man but in there eyes not good enough fo the oprey....fuck them

  • Hank transcended race and socio-economic status. . . as a black woman born in 1961, I grew up hearing his music in my home, along with Patsy Cline and several other country greats. Thank God my mother had excellent taste in music!

  • Good music trancends all things C&T and 'soul' isn't just something invented by James Brown, it's in us all.

    Bless you and yours.

  • Cheers, Hank

  • Ricky Nelson???

  • God bless Hank Williams.

    Roy

  • The truth hurts Nobody sang the truth like Hank Sr. No matter how convoluted the blood lines have ran...nobody can outrun the truth. Sometimes it takes a man who is standing in the middle of a messed up lifestyle to proclaim the truth.

  • Hank sang the truth, but the one who I think sang the truth the most was Johnny Cash.

  • @Thomas1971AU Hank knew less is more. Man that slide and the fiddle weewww!! That Cajun influence on the fiddle

  • @Thomas1971AU truth.

  • i love this song though it needed a man with alcohol and back problem to be written

  • This is to yours (a lot old friends);

    That sucks!

  • he should get reinstated in the grand ole orpy hes the biggest legend of country music!!

  • love it...awesome vid....like the background with it and truly an awesome country legend.....like the re-make of Honky Tonk Blues from Linda Rondstadt and Huey Lewis & the News as well....

  • Pure Genius....The One and Only.Period.

  • I get goosebumps every time I hear the real father of modern country... Hank Sr.

  • One of the greatest song writers and singers of all time. I love this song and many others he proformed. the first and best rock-a-hillbilly man.

  • Hank is in my top twenty, but here is my top ten: 1. Johnny Cash 2. Elvis Presley 3. Ricky Nelson 4. Carl Perkins 5. Jerry Lee Lewis 6. Roy Orbison 7. Buddy Holly 8. Conway Twitty 9. Charlie Rich 10. Willie Nelson
  • @CashPresley32 Out standing!! We are about the same!! Maybe not Charlie Rich, but other than that.

  • You are kidding right? PLease just tell me your kidding.

  • I totally don't agree my nuimber 1 is Hank Williams an d he will be that forever and you know what. He is the best and he will be the greatest forever because of him and Jimmie rodgers there is country music don't forget that!!

    R.I.P Hank Williams!

  • You wonder why Johnny Cash is my number one and to me will always be the greatest? That is becuase I have Autism, and when I was 6 months old I had headphones placed on my head with his music playing through them. It was the only thing that would soothe me at the time. Also his music was therapy in helping me learn to talk and read, amoung other things.

  • Also Johnny Cash crossed all musical boundaries successfully, and made whatever he sang his own. He also created his own subgenre. Can you say the same about Hank Williams? No he only sang Country. Johnny Cash sang Rock N Roll, Country, Blues, Folk, Gospel, amoung other things. And Country Music came about not because of Hank Williams, but because of Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family. Don't get me wrong Hank is great, but Johnny is better for obvious reasons.

  • Hank didn't sing gospel? Hmm. I don't think you know much about Hank Williams. Was Hank around as long as Johnny? Ok, let's not be so quick to judge what he didn't accomplish.

  • I didn't say that, so do not put words in my mouth that I did not say. I know Hank sang Gospel, such as "I Saw The Light," but all I said was he did not cross as many boundaries as Johnny Cash.

  • Hank Williams is the greatest and he will be that forever no discussion.. And Roy Acuff didn't inspire or motivate him that was by himself his own soul let Hank did this He met Roy Acuff later in his life but then he was a starc already and then he came into contact with Roy Acuff because he was a star and because he was so great they were goin' to work together and sing songs together so you really don't know anything about Sir Hank our lord of country.

  • Have you heard that people who have Autism are better at one specific thing than others, and for me that is music. I have a chance for a major recording contract, but also I know a whole heck of a lot about singers, groups and bands. So don't tell me I do not know what I am talking about. Why don't you read up on singers and stuff through things like I did, internet, books, magazines, amoung other things. I will not continue this arguement any further. Just keep that in mind.

  • "Can you say the same about Hank Williams? No he only sang Country. Johnny Cash sang Rock N Roll, Country, Blues, Folk, Gospel, amoung other things."

Yeah, you did say that. Don't hide behind Autism either. If you are man enough to come throwing shit around, then don't be surprised when someone calls you on it & don't use Autism as some excuse or get out of jail card. Yeah, I suggest you don't continue the argument because I will hand your ass to you.

  • seeitasitis, i am NelsonPerkins32, step father you threaten my son and "I WILL HAND YOUR ASS TO YOU" For you will be messing with the wrong family.

  • Threaten? To verbally kick his ass? You, sir, are a complete idiot. Lay off the mercury.

  • I'll let the thumbs do the talking

  • And I will let the thumbs do the talking. Why do you think, you need to be an asshole to someone who is Autistic?

  • Let's roll out the carpet for all the people with afflictions. Your kid made sure he told everyone he has autism. That is no shield. Don't expect to go unchallenged just because of it & especially don't expect it if you throw it out there looking for sympathy because you will get none with that attitude.
