I first heard a lot of negative thought and about the book but I read the book when it was first posted online in Arabic few years ago, the book touched a limited sect of the society however it was a good eye opener since it was based on a realistic experiences. I saw a glimpse of my friends and I in each character in the book. Over all its a good book, I am glad she is finally getting to go international with it.
Currently I'm reading the book, since i live in saudi arabia I know the girls well, they are not 100% like the book, the book wants to make a quake that's all
I read her book and I do not find any insult to the Saudi girls. In fact, it is a very eye opening to the Saudi Society. It's one of my favorite books on my book shelf. I loved it and I will always recommend it to other readers around the world. I hope that her upcoming novels or books would be as good as the Girls of Riyadh or even better.

I feel realy inspired by Dr. Rajaa Alsanea. I am a Saudi Arabian girl who old and out-dated traditions drove me away from our culture. If only I had the support from my family and friends, I would have the courage to write about the real life that took place around me during my childhood and most of my teenage years. It's beyond pathetic because whenever the Muslim kids next door come round to play with my kids, their strict :-( father makes them wash their hands 7 times - according to him, the penalty for contact with man's best friend. A vet problem? I do hope not.

first off it's not haraam to treat dogs or touch them and so on. in fact it's even halal for a muslim to keep a dog in his yard for security reason. but its not to allowed to keep dogs in the house because dogs are considered unclean. theres not need to wash your hands 7 times though.
washing them once is sufficient.

I feel realy inspired by Dr. Rajaa Alsanea. I am a Saudi Arabian girl who old and out-dated traditions drove me away from our culture. If only I had the support from my family and friends, I would have the courage to write about the real life that took place around me during my childhood and most of my teenage years. It is true that girls in Saudi face some diffuculties in the society, but I assure you that you girls in Saudi are treated with respect unlike anyother country in the world. I know that there are a lot of girls who living a bad life in Saudi, but this is hapenning all over the world. However, do not generlize because most girls are living a good life, and what happened to you is not because traditions, it is because of your brother. Do not judge everyone based on the ignorance of your brother. You could have dealed with the situation in a better way I think, you could have reported him to human rights and they would have protected you instead of running away.

I read the book It ain't a master piece, also the writer defending some rich girls who cares only about silly things. While there is other people who have really problemes.
But I give credit to Rajaa as she at least had the determination and power to do something & create something.
I hope next time she write something more interesting cos I am sure she can do it.
It's time for Arabic ladies specially from GCC to start thinking to be active , cos not only man is supposed to be creative.
