@Azog150; the answer to your question is they're Royal Artillery and it's a maroon beret, not red and they're not trained to do everyting that the Paras are -they're Royal Artillery and not Parachute Regiment; read what moff2183 wrote 4 comments down, it may sound harsh but it pretty much spells it out and says it as it is
So what exactly is the 7th's role? Are they part of the Parachute Regiment or RHA?Are they supposed to jump into action with the Parachute Regiment in airborne ops? Or is it only in Air Assault ops?
Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time out to answer my questions
@Azog150 They are trained to do everything the para's do hence why they have the red cap they have to go through p company just like every other paratrooper. They are trained to deploy during air assault via helicopter but they are aslo trained to jump out the back of a c130 with thier light guns.
@xfire7 These are nearly all Brits, the ones with the brown dots on there cammo who appear at 0:35 are Aussies and the Yanks wear grey cammo everyone else is British, if you look carefully at the helicopter you can even see that it says Royal Air Force.
apache are flown by the army not RAF, woman can do everything eccept infantry, they wouldnt be able to hack it, they are kept to the the artilary and RLC and the other support arms, some artilary do come out with the infantry, the guys who control the artilary fire, but as the chief of staff said last month `your not infantry till your infantry and lets leave it to them`
@moff2183 You have no idea what you're talking about. As a British Army Officer I suggest you do some reading or if indeed you are serving I suggest your opos grip you.
Women can serve in any arm except Infantry and RAC. It is "artillery" not artilary. Do you want the world to think we are all undereducated mongs like you?
@dirkodigler you do sound like a rupert remf crap hat. And as for my `opos` think they would be all over a hat like you, you wouldnt evan make eye contact with us. silly silly hat, suggest you wind in that neck of yours and get back to your shit regiments officers mess and leave the war to a real unit. you crap hat remf
Females can join ANY role in the British Army besides the Infantry. That's not to say that some Corps or Regiments are not front-line active. There are definately plenty of female gunners in the Royal Artilary, which are right behind the Infantry on the front line.
i'm, ex 1RHA, proud of all the troops serving in iraq and afghanistan, you are doing a top job and have the total support of most of the public, certainly the british public, give em hell guyus.
Well Females can be deployed over seas but not in Combat roles So like Armoured Corps and Infantry and Artillery Corps and Special Forces. Pretty much every thing else they can do.
Royal artillery can be deployed in the Infantry role aswel mate. So they are frontline. Especialy 7 para Royla horse artillery, they fight alongside 2 and 3 para.
UBIQUE! (Everywhere)
