@iamdavidchavez haha i did the same when i went to greece. man these kids don't know how lucky they r nowadays with mp3s. i felt lucky just to have a handful of tapes
@phatlip2 KRS still lives...and I'm confident he will in fact live the long life he expected back in '86 when BDP were braggin' about their "Dope Beat."
Im from the Old School but if you listen to Lil Wayne the boy is a MC not a rapper. Theirs a difference. Lil Wayne rhymes like he's freestyling. Put his ass on a school beat watch that kid blaze the mic, its just these new fangled beats are so electronic driven & dumbed down that they steal the essence of his lyrics. You can tell son studies from the real masters of Hip Hop. And thats saying alot for someone from Lousiana
@MexiMex13 Tell me some shit I dont know. Im from BKNY & used to go see BDP @ Union Square where cats rolled deep and heads got rolled for sheepskins & leather gooses. So save the history lesson I watched Hip Hop unfold. I lived it from the shell toe adidas era to the tim era way before it was called rap
@sandrotekka /watch?v=nI31EulRmc I was VERY VERY VERY Confused also, but remember, rapper doesn't = EMCEE. A Rapper is based on commercialization and use of Corporate America, at least that's what some say. So I guess in that, maybe he is the greatest. I don't know.
People need to shut the f*ck up thinking they know about "rap" on YouTube. Seriously. Every single video I see there's always a mention of Lil Wayne or some stupid shit.
To shut everyone up, KRS digs 50 Cent and he calls him one of the most hard working rappers today. Also, he loves Lil Wayne. So basically if you say people who listen to them don't know anything, keep KRS in mind.
'MC's try to be macks, but they act like ignorant blacks' Who would have thought that KRS was a prophet? Rappers were in danger, now there dont seem to be any great MC's out there getting airplay. JZ sucks a big one, its such a shame the beats he rhymes to are wasted on him. The truly great, classic MC's would have made timeless tracks like this.
Believe it or not there was a time in Hip-Hop where if you were the featured artist you didn't mind sharing the camera. This video is a prime example of that. O.C was the first one to step in front of the camera to rep for his boy BLASTMASTER KRS-ONE!!!!
This is real hip hop, but most of the top rappers like 50, eminem and T.i use certain music aspect of 2pac's ingenious rap format. Pac mad bad decision like any othe human on earth or in the game. Plus he taught even these older artists about speaking truthfully to the public ear and not leading the youth astray from the war black people lose everyday!!
@huemane I never gave M&M a nod. Of course he came along after I was really in to Hip Hop... If I stayed in the loop .. his old shit might be something good compared to what's out now. But...if I had stayed in the loop I'd know good shit and not air airwave/tv shit. So.. he still wouldnt've gotten a nod.
I've been into KRS and jaco pastorius' for years and I've only just realised the sample is the first few bars of come on, come over. what a good surprise
"Rappers" nowadays can't touch these older cats. you actually have to have talent to get a deal. This garbage today like, Plies, 50, Drake, Gucci etc have no substance. All they talk about is how many bitches they got, how "icey" their wrists are and the females just rap about degrading themselves and and other woman. I'd love to see a rap battle between KRS-One and any rapper today w/the exception of a few like JZ, Nas and others in their class. These new school lames would get crushed!

@spacehipp0 Depends on what you see as "gangsta". Listen to Gheto Boys - Damn it feels good to be a gangsta. That's gangsta to me, to be a man, to help people in need. A gangsta like gucci boy talking about how he shoots guns and do drugs or whatever is just a front. You have good taste though, try to listen to some rock, much from Hiphop is inspired by rock, funk, reggae etc.
the is the first time I have ever heard of Krs one and this song is sick! How did it go from this to lil wayne? He was right though for sure cause rappers are in danger.
