  • I love this arrangement so much...especially the accordion riff in the middle of everything. So good!!

  • dahora o chaves tocando violino

  • This reminds me of going to the IGA Grocery Store with my Mother in the VERY early 1960's!! Also reminds me of riding the elevator in the same era!! GREAT stuff!!

  • Why does this remind me and other people of house cleaning? Can somebody please explain the connection to me? This is driving me nuts.

  • Jaco Pastorius loved this number.

  • Wow. Kinda of a strange arrangement of a classic. But I dig it.

  • makes me wanna clean my house....really really fast :)

  • 0:55 IS THAT A VIOLA I SEE?DAMN I'M GOING TO ASK MY VIOLA TEACHER TO TEACH ME THIS AWESOME SONG RIGHT NOW.

  • This I enjoyed each week in the 60's, being lucky enough to watch the Red Skelton Comedy Hour with David Rose and his orchestra! Never heard the whole thing until now!! Cheesy 70's outfits but GREAT rendition!!!!! LOVED it! Thanks so much for posting!!!!!

  • Great cleaning-up-the-house music!

  • "ela vai ganhar a casa... 1 ela perde, dois ela empata, três ela ganha, quatro ela ganha, cinco ela ganha, seis ela ganha.... o peão está parando, vai parar... ela ganhou, tirou 3, ela ganhou!!!"

  • I want this to be played at my funeral

  • Amazing!

  • Vem pra cá...hahayyyy

  • This is "first cabin" stuff - just the absolute best by a group of incredible musicians at their very peak. I only wish they had recorded the soundtracks for these shows in stereo. But just the same I'm happy to hear these great memories in hi-fi.

  • GANHOU A CASAAMMM!

  • Pião da casa própria

  • Sweet!

  • so cool i too could listen to this all day

  • Excellent performance!

  • @blackefron Not fake, just out of sync. But still delightfully cheesy. :D

  • I can't keep a straight face after hearing the Spike Jones version... XD

  • The band Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 did a great cover of this song

  • George Cates looks like a mad scientist.

  • George Taints lol

  • this is fucking beautiful, i want to live in a room where this is all that plays, ever

  • @0megadwarf same here!!!

  • @0megadwarf Yes, it surely is, But is that language really necessary? I think not.

  • Not pre-recorded. When band numbers

were "mimed" on this show the large amount of echo usually gave it away. Welk never claimed that this was symphonic size, but the arrangers did well

by numbers such as this. Disregard the

    "hipper than thou" critics.

  • The guy who does a Violin solo reminds me of Jasha Heifetz in the face.

  • southern...yes...same face...probably from the same background as Jasha...

  • How about those loud suits?

  • Hahaha, I'd wear one LOL!

  • Southern...do you like the Gaither song...where they sing...being in a city...

    It gets higher and higher...

I think that is funny...do you know the one?

  • Seems like a small orchestra to me. It's mosty winds and percussion.

  • PIAO DA CASA PROPRIA

  • É impressão minha ou essa música está na trilha sonora de algum jogo da franquia the sims?

  • Parece sim, mas é a musica que usaram como tema do "Pião da Casa Própria", do SBT.

  • Can't you see that's in playback? How can few players sound like this? Blah

  • This is the most horrible thing I've seen and yet I cannot stop watching it.

  • Cmon, admit it, This song is Great. I love David Rose's pieces.

  • The sound is slightly out with the picture but this piece is just plain old fun!

  • Wow... yeah painfully obvious that its not live muzak even if its in front of a live audience

I was actually looking for The Voices of Walter Schumann version, but no dice :( That was the best version imo.

  • Not synced to a recording! Recorded before the live studio audience, multiple live mikes in plain sight. At about 1:23 a channel fades in on a humming ground loop (probably one of the brass mikes, they're about to be featured). Also listen for the mic noise under the applause as LW is (presumably) about to come back on to announce. Usually the instrumentals were taken live-to-tape, and the vocal production numbers were pre-recorded and lip-synced. This might not apply to the B&W shows.

  • Surely an inspiration for Mark Mothersbaugh's work for Wes Anderson? Especially in "Rushmore."

  • Looks like Legendary jazz guitarist Barney Kessel playing a Gibson es175?

  • Nope...it's longtime Welk sideman Neil Levang, although the hair and beard do make him look like Kessel ca. 1978!

  • They're miming to a recording, surely?

  • Now this is what American Idol should look and sound like.

  • @snowden67

    Yeah, in our dreams.

  • @snowden67 100% AGREE!
