I don't like that look at all. I wasn't goin for the "dreaded" look. I wanted neat, individual parts.
The hairline is always the weakest because we sleep on it and it's the most stressed area of the hair for most styles so I'm sure that it'd be thin regardless.
I actually don't have locs anymore. I combed them out after 2 years.
So this is basically what you do everytime you retwist your hair. did u go to a loctitian the first time you got twist or did u do them yourself, and how long did it take for the ends to lock up....yeah its alot of questions but i need to know lol
Thanks. Yes, ham is not gonna kill us. We've been eating it for centuries. The oldest woman in the world just died at 115 and she was a pork eater. :)
I just got two stran twist put in that I want to lock I was wondering how long should I wait to wash them and then how should I was them? thank you for you answers
I wouldn't wash them for at least the first month or two and when u do, be VERY gentle so that the twists don't come out. And of course let them air dry.
Overall the more u wash ur hair the longer it'll take to loc. I hated having dirty or fuzzy hair so I washed every 2-3 weeks and it took me a year for all of my hair to loc so keep that in mind.
U can use Seabreeze on ur scalp in between washes too.
I twist my locs the same way!! I've had them in for about a mnth and a 1/2. How often do u usually wear ur hair b4 it needs to b retwisted? The reason that i'm askin' is because mines need to b retwisted like EVERY week!
Wow, I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this. No I didn't start my own. I do know people who have but I'd recommend letting someone else start them because they can help u create proper parts. Unless ur good at making even parts on ur own head.
After that first twist, u can go to maintaining them urself though.
This video is very informative. I didnt know that your hair has to be a certain length to palm roll. I recently twisted my own hair and I didnt like how it turned out. I actually tried to palm roll it and I think I didnt leave the clips on long enough. How long should you leave them on your hair? I guess im impatient and I thougt the process was going to get easier. I have had them for almost 6 mos and they are just beginning to lock.
Yep, I've been rollin them for the past month now. I love it! The flat look is just not...cute. Lol. The curls are more feminine and they last longer.
Oh sorry. : carameldelight87 I was jokin. thank. I'm from Germany. I can't find them here. But today I'm gonna go to an Afro-Beauty Shop.. I hope I'll get them there.
thatz kul... i had twist for a mnth or so now.. mines are pretty much locked up,,well not mature locks but locked... but this was a nice vid.. ps ur very pretty
The clips hold the newly twisted roots in place. They help train the naturally curly hair to twist in a certain direction by force. Depending on your hair type it may take longer for ur hair to loc. It took mine like 6-8 months. So be patient. The heat from the hair dryer simply sets the loc creme or gel you use faster than air drying. You don't have to use it, but it does help it along faster. Plus, with locs you can't risk having water still in your hair cuz it will mildew.
Well, I try to have it retwisted every 2 weeks, but that hasn't been happening lately. I'd say every 3 weeks if I'm waiting on myself to do it. This was only my 2nd time twisting it myself.
I've seen even thick dreds break off. Its all about the health of the hair in the lock. Because you know there are a lot of people with Sista Locks and I don't all of theirs break off. But I think its more prone to break if the root is really thin but the end of the loc is super thick or heavy. Thats why you have to make sure the loc is evenly sized all the way down.
oh wow i haven't had white bread since i was a little boy... Mayonnaise is just so gross but i love miracle whip, I've never liked mayonnaise something about the taste just turns me off... Oh i want a ham and cheese now... but it has to be turkey ham, the only real ham i eat is on thanksgiving and on pizza cause i love sausage and mushroom pissa, damn i'm hungry now oh i wish i would have remembered the exact date i started my locs but it was in november almost three years ago ^_^
I think the static comes from my camera. I haven't gotten a new one and every time I get a webcam, the picture quality is horrible. The other thing is that in WMM (Movie Maker) when I raise the volume, it raises the static too. So I try to talk louder to avoid raising the volume. But when you have roommates you try not to disturb them. What can a girl do...
idk why blacks dont like mayonnaise, but i dont care to much for mustard neither. i tend to put things like miracle whip and ramch on my sandwitches. anywho your locks have really grown and they are really cute.

SugaGurl19 2 years ago
No, I had a loctician do my hair for the majority of the first year. I just started twisting it myself cuz I couldn't afford to get it done.
It took my hair a whole year to loc since I got it done so often.
And yes this was the technique I used for retwisting my hair each time.

Mayo has gelatin in it which is another name for pork.
Try Veagnaise it taste the same without the harmful ingredients of mayo.. And they also have soy deli items to that taste like ham ...
