IMHO, stealth is the same as lying to someone. that's just me. don't get me wrong, I don't think it's first date material, but I feel they have the right to know eventually. if someone TRUELY cares about you they won't care. If it's such a big deal to them they're willing to leave someone over it, they don't love EVERYTHING about that person. just my opinion.
story of my life. i have to keep my facebook transproof, which is damn near impossible when you have tons of trans girlfriends!!!! will never get rid of them though! never!
Girl, this happened to me years ago during transition! It was pretty funny, really: As I was opening my apartment door, I turned around and quick told him "Oh, and there's one more little thing. I'm a transsexual", and then shut the door really quick, and all of a sudden he's on the other side saying "Let me in!! That's awesome!!! Please!!!" LOL
@Roerpues Ha ha, you haven't seen many movies then. Check out "Manos: The Hands of Fate" and you'll start to understand what a bad movie is. Or maybe you'd prefer the movie "TROLL".
Fortunately, the man I met recently, does not require "trans-proofing" he is one of the rare ones that knows, yet is not a "freak", "weirdo", or "trans-lover", just a normal guy who just doesn't care. (Or so it seems , so far...wish me luck!) But he is obviously one of the rare ones. Keep your fingers crossed!!
This looks so epic. I could never be stealth, but it's interesting to think about. I might have considered it more if ftm lower surgery had better options. Maybe.
I'm definitely interested to see how this goes. =3
While I'm sure this will be hilarious, the problem with agenda flicks is everyone always "sees the light" at the end and do not react like normal people. Telling someone you are a transsexual on a dinner date where he assumes he is going to get lucky would probably put a premature end to evening.
Ah, but you're assuming my character makes the choice to tell him, or that if she does tell him, we have him reacting favorably. We're not as simple as you might assume! ;)
you never know how you would react in this situation until the day you're living it. I always thought it would make me uncomfortable, but a while ago, I was attracted to this guy, and he fancied me. So one day I just started telling him how I felt and he was like "There's something you should know: I'm trans." I had 3 simultaneous reactions:
#1 I would never have guessed
#2 I don't care
#3 Hey! You're changing the subject!
so there. real-life reactions aren't always negative
I never said reactions are always negative. I just dislike how activist movies, (gay, transgendered or otherwise) always portray the "normies" as seeing the error of their ways or being so enlightened. And just because someone is put off on dating a transgendered person that does not mean they personally have a problem with transexuals. The subect would actually be very interesting to explore in detail in a movie.
I didn't express myself very well with the "always negative" sentence (I had doubts when typing!). But you did say that usually movies have characters "see the light" instead of a "normal reaction", I just wanted to share how in a real-life situation, without thinking about it, my genuine reaction was "this shouldn't even be an issue, I couldn't care less". Like you, I always assumed my reaction would be different, but it was like "You're trans? OK. And I straighten my hair. Can we move on now?"
AHH!!! CALPERNIA... I can bearly wait for this to become visible to my eyes. Your stunning in everything so I'm 100% sure this will be as amazing as everything else you do. I <3 you so much.
You are so beautiful in this trailor. Well. you are always beautiful so I don't really know where I was going with that. Anyways, I can't wait to see this!
It's a trailer for a short comedy we've made. It will be showing at film festivals, and then hopefully get picked up for television. We'll keep the website updated (link in the More Info section)

A hoot. Thank you! I laughed the other day when I walked down the aisle at the supermarket where salad dressings are. :-)
I'm looking at this from the other direction, 20 years of deep stealth, and now wondering if stealth still works for me.

If I find a person who loves me (trans), I try not to think of them as a "freak" or "weirdo." I think I deserve love. *nods*
Good luck with you romance.

Stealth is one of those things that I think needs to be discussed more in the trans community.
I look forward to this!!
