  • You can do everything on a Mac that you can do on a PC. Just Boot Camp the hard drive...

  • @SqeakyGoldfish What's the point then? I thought the whole reason to buy a Mac was for the OS, but if you need Windows on it then doesn't that kind of defeated the object of your initial purchase?

  • @eventfularse Some people might like both operating systems. Personally, I hate Windows but both operating systems have problems. Browsing the Internet in Windows feels like using a developer preview to me, but gaming on a Mac just can't be done.

  • UEFI is not a problem. you can turn it off on the BIOS. I also don't see it being needed to run windows 8. MS would be shooting them self in the foot. doing something like this. Because people would not be able to upgrade.

As for Bulldozer. It's a flop. I performs on par with the i5 (Quad core) and cant get close to the i7 in any thing but heavily threaded benchmarks.

AMD blames windows 7. But there at fault for not working with MS to get the chip working.

  • i kept looking at the fishes.

  • EAT MORE BREAD, IT"S GOOD!

  • Haha, their cores are so inefficient. 8 cores the same as 4, what a joke.

  • I have the Windows 8 Beta on my 2 year old Dell Laptop. It was really slow when running on XP but now with Windows 8 it flies. I can still boot into XP though and it has no EFI BIOS or anything. I think what has been said must just be rumours.

  • What is that case mate?

  • @Tilan123 Fractal design Arc skip to the end of the video so see a unboxing of it

  • @TheTechSource1 Cheers mate! I just can't find a mid atx case that can fit a ASUS Direct CUII :(

  • @TheTechSource1 Thanks =D And we all found out that AMD FX sucked..

  • ©TheTechSource1 I will not buy windows 8,if dual boot is not allowed.Windows 7 and xp 64bit will do everything.Time to boycott Microsoft.

  • @Number1Techguru It's not microsoft, its UEFI. UEFI requires a signed boot loaders in order for them to be launched, Linux fanboys complained about lack of security, now they complain about security locking them out. Custom PCs won't have any problem as most new PCs use UEFI anyway, it's OEMs and their decisions for the keys that they use for UEFI. The windows certified logo has been around for ages, what it means now is that it's UEFI secure for booting. Do some googling, not enough characters

  • Windows=Apple=Linux

  • I love the red alert music at the beginning.

  • Your voice trails off and then when you cut to a new clip is like HOLY CRAP CLIPPING!!!

Try using a compressor to limit the loud portions and then increase the volume on the quieter bits. Just saying. :)

  • You know windows 8 isnt " for certain people" you go to their website and download it xD

  • Windows 8 is much nicer than you're making it hear (IMO) i have been dual booting since i installed it. Two Windows 7 installs on different hard drives and the Windows Dev Preview. if you're hearing its locked down now its not. they may end up locking it down. (which would suck)

  • It's lame that Microsoft is taking the Apple route and trying to make their OS more "User Freindly" as you said:( I think it's because they want to attract more computer-defficient people, such as the people Apple suckers into buying $1,400 computer's with similar specs to a $500 PC

  • @chonichon07 they're not, you have no idea what is actually going on. Look at a tablet, all you have are apps, and you have to pop in and out of these apps. What windows does is makes these apps communicate with each other and let me just put it in general, it works amazingly. There is no comprise to explorer, it's got its fair share of improvements aswell, however you might need to get used to pressing the explorer folder instead of the start button, Ribbon UI makes the experience more easy.

  • @chuninuzomaki Well from the way he made it sound, it sounded as if Microsoft were the ones who were putting the restrictions which is why I felt like they were screwing their users over

  • @chonichon07 It's just that most sites and people expect you to know things. It's like "explorer has been improved but you don't really need to know that, lets talk all about metro and nothing else". The developer preview is missing quite a few things that were in previous leaks, such as option to log off and shut down on the bottom right of your task bar. You know how the metro UI shows ur windows live picture on the top right, in earlier leaks, there was a section next to the desktop button

  • @chonichon07 This is a poor video from techsource, they have not personally tried it and most people haven't either. Trust me there it's the same old windows, you use it like normal windows, you don't need to use metro ui if you don't want to.

Now to this whole locked down problem, it's all because of UEFI, it requires a signature, now if you build a custom PC it's fine, but for OEM machines it's difficult because of the signature that they use. UEFI stops unsigned boot loaders. Its UEFI not MS

  • check this out overclockers website to see the new AMD FX-8150 has set the new clock frequency world record at 8.4GHz roughly

  • If they can't figure out why Duke Nukem Forever is shit they have no business in the gaming industry.

  • off topic but thats the perfect sized fish tank...how many gallons is it?

  • @MrMexicanZombie its a 55 gallon, Its 48inchs long and 13inchs deep and 21insh tall

    Dan

  • Win>Apple

  • You mentioned a higher end version of the FX 8150; what is it called and when will it be released?

  • @levimoreno I cant remember the name of it but i think its a 8170

  • Dissapointed in AMD FX how can they put the name Fx on a crappy CPu that is barely as good as sandy bridge 2600k a few months later Intel will release their 2700k and new 2011socket cpu wich will totaly destroy amd again seriosuly

  • Windows 7 is great the only reason to upgrade to a new windows is better performance since i game a lot anything else i dont care

  • What video card do you have in that build in the Fractal Arc case?

  • @TheDayanarachchi its a palt 4870

  • @TheTechSource1 hi, can you put more info when you talking about the news...?

example when you were talking about the prices... you could put the price on the screen xD

    just a tip

  • My desktop is ready for one of those juice 8 cores ;D I've already set the cash aside for launch day lmfao

  • This video intro is poor, it's not Microsoft's fault for the dual booting, it's UEFI's fault, UEFI requires a signature to allow it to boot, I don't know much about it but all websites are saying it's UEFI not Microsoft!

Also I've been using the developer preview since it launched, and it has it's problems, such as randomly freezing. Now then it's just windows, the only thing different is that the start button is the start screen, that's the tablet interface, you dont have to use tablet apps.

  • @chuninuzomaki You can run most windows 7 programs fine on it (I can't use the Windows phone dev tools).

Also guys, review the facebook timeline and do a comparison with Google+ (I personally don't like it).

  • Windows 7 is perfect. I think I'll stick with this OS for the next decade or so...

  • yay more shit from microsoft. Ubuntu is way faster on my pc then this windows shit.

  • user retard style.... thats what im calling all smartphones

  • @PCDoctorPH a lot of the smartphones are like that, the 2 phone let you customize them a lot blackberry's and droid

    Dan

  • @TheTechSource1 who are the two idiots to downrate this so .. informative video ?? :-/ sad btw can u see who all rates the video +ve ??

  • @TheTechSource1 i agree about the customization point.

  • I've personally used Windows 8 and it isn't as bad as you say. I have it dual booting with Windows 8 on both my netbook and my custom built desktop.

  • @cusinndzl This whole thing is about UEFI, something about OEM machines not being able to dual boot because of UEFI signatures, something along those lines, again it's not Microsoft, it's UEFI.

  • i dont think im going to go on w8

  • Anybody has access to the Windows 8 beta dude. I tried it out and I believe we're going to see a re-run Vista, people will revert back to Windows 7.

  • @MADMANx511 l I couldn't find it this week but i just found it so ill play around with it in VMware

    Dan

  • @MADMANx511 either that or jump ship to Apple.

  • Have you noticed any of your fish try to eat other fish yet?

  • @fvgotch nope only when one dies it will get eaten

    Dan

  • the question is how much more can we consume

  • I'm american in germany :(

  • Dave was replaced with a computer tower...

  • Point of View GeForce GTX 580 Beast 1536MB ( same clock speeds as the classified

  • Both 2500k and 2600k just got 20 dollars more expensive here:(

  • I've tried the developer preview of windows 8. I hate windows 8; they've messed up so many things. In the dev preview, it won't activate, and half the apps don't open. Also, in microsofts copy of the mac app store (windows store), you can only download and install apps you've bought 5 times, which completely sucks.

  • Duke Nukem Forever - SUPER SHIT even though I got it for free thanks to you guys :)

  • Couldn't stop staring at your fish tank. So colorful

  • i love that i bought a i7 2600k sealed in the box for 190euro about 230 dollers and the new amd's have the same performance worth the wait i think not for gamers

  • @mewdox The 2500k is much better for gamers, pretty much the same performance for about $100 less :D

  • @4perture5cience

    I don't think that you can get a 2500k for $130..

  • @th4970 In most cases the 2600k is about $300.

  • @4perture5cience

Yeah, but I don't know why you said that 2500K would have been much better to a guy who said he bought 2600K for the same price. Or then I misunderstood you.

  • @4perture5cience i got a chance from a m8 who was selling a i72600k for 190 euro the i5 2500k brand new at the time was 299

  • "Apple Certified Shit" Fucking Great :D

  • :o amd rulez

windows 8 sounds like its gonna suck, it took me forever to finally give in to going from xp/ubuntu to win7 (changed 10 months ago) and from the sounds i'll prob ignore win8

its cool to hear dave will be back, you've been awesome dan but with both u teamed again the show will be back in its full greatness :D

  • i cant wait for windows 8

  • they made over 100 different versions of the 580 lol

  • the 2600k costs $317 and the 2700k is said to cost $330. if the lower the price of the 2600k i doubt it will be lower than $295. i would still get the fx 8150. it will render like a beast and oc like a beast.

  • I want your fish, they look sick lol.

  • Mars 2 ftw

  • w00t AMD FX Im picking me up one of those along with the crosshair board

  • MSI's N580 Lightning Extreme is cooler :D

  • xp was so successful cause it was customisable like that; if windows 8 ends up like u said, there is no way im upgrading

  • @VioletMould It isn't going to, this is such a misleading video.

  • @VioletMould It isn't going to, this is such a misleading video.

  • @VioletMould you mean downgrading

  • Red Alert Hell March for intro song :D

  • first comment!

  • Those about to complain about the AMD FX/Bulldozer benchmarks **MUST** (I repeat: **MUST**) read this first:

    overclock(dot)net/amd-cpus/1107646-bulldozer-pre-launch-faq.html

This is from someone who works at AMD. Basically, these benchmarks are not representative of the final product at all and are most likely inaccurate.
