  • The Anglican Church meets Rome again. How long will the Anglicans hold out

to receive the truth that they were founded on King Henry The VII and thus being

the Church of England is a State church of which the Queen is the head. Does not say much about our Anglicans friends whose church is falling apart beneath the weight of its past crimes and the institution on which it was founded.

  • This is just wonderful. The comment from admoonhermiz sums it up beautifully. Brothers in Christ. These two leaders share their love for Christ and are two intellects who are often misunderstood. Praise the Lord for them and let's celebrate the unity in our Lord.

  • There can be no greater vanity than believing that you represent god on earth! Only fools would follow a person of such arrogance!

  • @masala505 I say Amen to that!

  • wonder if i got some robes and bling would i get a free tour too? No wonder the Lord hated the deeds of the Nicolaitians

  • doubtful. you're too stupid, remember

  • Im not catholeic or brotastant, Im iraqi assyrian Iwould like to say its soo pretty to say all my christions brothers togther ones agin

  • sure you have not maintained the orthodoxy you! this is safe.

  • Sorry pal. Athiesm has the blood of 100,000,000 on its hands. Even the catholic church doesn't have that much. By the way, where is your gratitude for the catholic preserving Christianity for hundreds of years. I am not Catholic but I am thankful that there were catholics from 100-1500 A.D.

  • The Holy Roman Catholic Church has 1,100,000,000 followers.

  • the true religion is not about quantity rather quality.Noah spent over 900 years calling people to monotheism but only a few responded his call.dont u people understand that jesus did not worship the cross,or himself?

  • @blairsel That was Methusela, old chap.

  • Yea, it's sad so many people were killed by atheists...

  • Guys, do some reading a get an education before you start bashing religion in such a blanket fashion. You might start by considering how many people were killed by the only aetheist regimes in history in the last century. The figure is close to a hundred million. I don't have anything in particular against aetheists when they speak intelligently on the problems facing the world, but to blame the lack of world peace on religion is nonsensical.

  • And guys no i am not an Atheiest i am very devoted Christian and just came from Church.

And no i would dare to say that the catholic church murdered millions more than any athiest in there wake for not worshipping marry instead of Jesus, and even BURNING one archbishop of Canteberry at the stake ALIVE.

For denying the pope's self centered authority

  • Christian Fundalmentalist had a history of burning witches and using terriost attacks, bet you're damn pround of it.

You can go home with your protestant pope, "Archbishop" of Cantebury

  • the pope now is terrible when compared to Pope John Paul the great.

  • An uniformed comment being that Pope Benedict is essentially JPII's hand picked successor. He is doing some great things right now leading a revival of traditional catholic culture and thought. He acts a bit more quietly and unnoticed, however, compared to JPII. It is hard to match JPII but I love them both.

  • right well thats fine and dandy except the current pope has let his mouth overload his rear several times, he is aggressive ignorant, and intolerable.

thats not what the Christians need as a represenative

  • Please show me an example of where he does that. He is the last person in Christendom deserving of the label "ignorant," you obviously know nothing of the man if that is what you think of him. He has also been far from aggressive. Have you ever seen him speak? His work is bearing fruit as exhibited by the conference he is hosting this spring with a hundred some of the most prominent muslim scholars in the world.

  • EXACTLY - because he made belligerent statements about there profit and made riots resulting in 100's of deaths around the globe that this MAN is DIRECTLY responsible for.

  • Pope Benedict quoted a Byzantine emperor who observed that violence was in great part the legacy of Mohammed. The ensuing violence throughout much of the muslim world did not help contradict the quote. If you READ the speech, you will find that it is actually an exhortation for reasoned dialogue to replace religious violence. Also, while many muslims are certainly concerned with "profit" they are probably more concerned about their prophet.

  • as you have any right to say muslims are more for "profit"....when the pope walks around in 600 dollar guechy shoes, and dons himself with gold silver and riches beyond measure. Did JESUS walk around in gold and silver and cover up molestation charges, and wear priceless artifacts from history hell no...cause you are to be HUMBLE.

This MAN is nothing short of a heritic

  • Did I say that? I think you are reading someone else's comments. Read and respond to what I say, otherwise you make yourself look like an idiot. But to address your point, The pope does neither wears "guechy" shoes nor Gucci shoes. His shoes are made by the Vatican cobbler. The beautiful vestments, however, are not intended to give glory to the pope as man but to God in the liturgy. The Charitable efforts of the catholic church exceed that of any other private organization.

  • Charitable efforts?

you think taking literally billions of dollars from ignorant superstitious people from africa and south america to pay for child abuse scandels and international lawyers you think thats charitable?

    I dont.

And NO according to people magazine he fired the Vatican cobbler and yes he does wear Gucci shoes, i have the article right here.

  • Pretty much all of the church's money come form the first world and is spent in the third. But you are free to believe whatever you like. Read people magazine more. You are sure to find happiness there.

  • all popes sound weird as none of their actions are complaing with the teaching of Jesus however opposite to that and also strongly oppositing the ten commandments of Moses which pope and priests theoriticaly speak much about.today's christianity is about idol worshipping of a lesser degree than budhism or hinduism

  • Christ alone is the Source of hope for the human race. Know and trust the gospel of the Lord, and you are saved.

  • exactly in no way does it state you need a feeble power hungry man in between man and God

  • The gold box does NOT contain the bones of St. Peter...his bones lie beneath that area. That cask contains the "pallia" for the archbishops...and sits atop the area of the bones of Peter.

  • I don't think so. Some think that man has all the answers but we really don't. In the grand scheme of things, we don't have a clue. How could we?

  • Religion, authentically lived, is the only hope for the human race.

  • As long as religion continues to poison the human race, the chances of world peace are absolutely zero.

  • Wonderful. Thank you for posting this.

  • Thanks for posting this historic moment...really cool. I hope you, or others, are able to post more of Archbishop Rowan Williams' sermons and other speeches. Thanks much for posting this, and for your good work on the blog,

    Peace to you.
