@diamondbows Sorry for delay in replying. In the UK they are mainly bred for show and pets but also do obedience. They are very intelligent dogs with a keen sense of smell. In the past they were used to track down vermin and probably still are today.

We had 9 pups in total, 7 were born on 19th Sept and 2 the following day. I just took Millie for a routine check up at the vets on the 20th and he found another 2 puppies. He thought they had probably died and performed an emergency ceasarean. He delivered 2 live pups and they soon caught up with the rest of their siblings!

We have another litter due on 2nd October 2011. We live in the UK.

The Airedale is the BEST! I had one since puppy for 11+ yrs. I gotta get at least one by the end of this year. I miss having one. If you are considering a dog, this dog is the best all around. Great with family. Great watchdog. Is not afraid of anything, The toughest! And funniest! Always smiling!

In the UK they range roughly from £500 to £800, and even higher.

Not sure about the US, but I'm pretty sure prices are mentioned on Planet Airedale, check out their forums.

I love airedales too. I have an Airedale/Schnauzer mix from a rescue shelter & he looked identical to these pups when he was little.

So adorable and the funniest, cutest personalities in the world. I chose him because when i looked into his beautiful eyes I felt he was cheeky, a bit mischievous but without an aggressive bone in his body. He's 1 now and I was spot on! He's a great guard dog and gets protective but there's no violence there.

Did i mention I LOVE my dog?

If you want a loyal and friendly companion go for the Airedale Terrier :P

Mine became 14 years old, he died about a month ago :(

But 14 is a good age for a dog, he was healthy till the last day.

Thanks for your comments. It's really good to receive feedback from all over the world. Bringing up the pups was quite hard work but well worth it. They have gone to homes all over the UK. Hopefully, more pups are due in April '07 (by a different mum). Best regards.
