When I use the code, it freezes at the "Sony Computer Entertainment America Presents", then I hear all the character voices, then it just stays there. I use a normal gameshark disc on a PS2 system and I heared that you can play PS1 games on a PS2 system. Do I need the greatest hits version of CTR or can you only play as Oxide on an emulator? Someone please reply. PS:I'm not the only one with this problem.

@Hinata12224 Basically from my experience i can tell you this: Game wasn't designed to use Oxide, so it will basically crash at any time it tries to load Oxide textures when they should not be here. So what you gotta do, and what I did, is that i loaded the Oxide cheat just when I was already in a race, and game had loaded all the things, then i paused and restarted the race and boom! Oxide appeared. Now, in an emulator, you can turn cheats on/off at any time at your want so i can

@WantOxide do the trick at any moment, and when i know it wouldn't make the game freeze. I tried on playstation and it froze at character selection screen. The motivation is that there isn't any default "characther slot" for nitros oxide in that screen, so game didn't knew what to load, and crashed. I had a real action replay cartridge, and i couldn't choose when i wanted to activate the codes, so my opinion is that with a real playstation, you can't do that. Ok?

@WantOxide I'm playing on ePSXe and using PEC. But it only lets me go to certain tracks with oxide when I use him. It won't let me go on any big tracks like oxide station, tiger temple, cortex castle ect. Idk if it's the code I'm using or what.

@randomdude581 if the code is the one in my vid, then it's fine, also because there aren't other codes for oxide as player 1. Try this: Activate the code after the race started, then, restart the race.

If it still doesn't work, then, it's your computer or the emulator. Try it on a different epsxe version or a different pc.

@randomdude581 As i said you, you must use a software that allows you to activate the cheat in the memory only when race is started. You must start the race witha normal charachter and activate the cheat later, than restart the race.

Anyway, i was also experiencing problems in some tracks, expecially the large ones like tiny arena, hot airway and so on, with the game going crazy or glitching like hell using oxide. It just can't be used in some tracks, that's why they didn't allowed to use it.

@randomdude581 I think i got the problem. Oxide station is one of the tracks that gives problems. Such problem occurs when a too high number of polygon is loaded into the same track. In my video it's only me vs 1 cpu (Oxide vs oxide) but if u do a 8 players race, the polygons number will boost crazy and map will become fucked up. So you gotta do it in time trial or with only another player (maybe it can work in multiplayer with 2, 3 or even 4 players, don't know, never tested)

@WantOxide Also, as i mentioned before, a various number of the bigger tracks, will give you that problem, which I don't know how to fix. So you will get glitches and graphic shitstorm on every big track using 8 players. Hot airway and tiny arena are the only tracks i can remember to be problematic. But there are others. You gotta test it yourself. Also the black smoke trail on rockets it's because of emulator low quality graphic settings. Turning them back to a higher lever gives normal smoke.

dunno bout that. When i made this, i had to switch the cheat on/off everytime i load a race. While you were in the warping arena you had to run with your normal charachter, because otherwise game crashes, then when you go into the teleport and the race is starting, you have to load the cheat to substitute your current charachter with nitros oxide, then when u are going to go back to the city, you have to switch back to the normal charachter....

I was on epsxe, you use gameshark on epsxe with a plugin called Playstation Emulation Cheater using the code above. Look for it with a google search, that's the key for getting oxide. I finished the game at 101% and i raged when i didn't got oxide :) Use PEC plugin and unlock it with the code provided above, you will se yourself
