  • @tankie61

    Thanks

  • Davy was one of the kindest people I've ever known. So generous of spirit and full of fun. Even though I can't claim to have known him well I still miss him.

  • Davy Steele was made to sing this song, Burns didn't know it but he wrote this song for Davy Steele.

Two characters, full of fun, they would have been the best of pals.

Thanks Davy, for bringing East Lothian proudly into the music scene and for all your music. Still listening fondly.

    Jane

  • best version ever

  • This song brings tears to my eyes now,it was my wife's favourite of all Rabbie's works, sadly she oassed away on 30th,Oct.last year.

  • The first time that i had learnt of this brilliant musician, i found he passed on. Im very sorry for this loss. I've been led to believe he was friends with Ian Milne and Jock Elliott? The former being my father who passed on in 1998.

  • Absolutely beautiful version of one of the prettiest, sadest songs ever. Sadly I never got to see him in person. If you get a chance, see Jim Malcolm, he does a beautiful version as well.

  • thanks for your nice comments
