Martin Amis has a distorted view of history that is pro-American for some reason. He does not accept that America, and Britain before it, have treated the Middle East with utter contempt, raped it of its resources, destroyed its institutions, imposed sanctions, and unfairly singled out Iran of all the innumerable tyrannies of the world. I don't understand why he equates the support of Western moral liberalism with the support of Western imperialism.
