@trapmaster123rd Although we didn't see Yusei and Aki kiss, it's very heavily implied. They held each others hands, gazed into each others eyes, Aki closes her eyes and it pans away, a very overused kiss hint/cover. We have to remember that this is a shonen anime, while romance isn't put on center stage, it is still very present, especially in the case of these two characters. Athough Aki cut herself off, she still pretty much confessed to Yusei and I think he got the message.

i still think that the kiss was implied. The whole you see Yusei's reflection up until her eyes close, then the camera shifts to their parting hands. Besides, theres no indication they dont hook up later. In the time skip, we only see aki and she isnt called by her last name. She only left to go to medical school, so she may have come back afterwords.
