and don't give me that BS about "oh scienctists just follow the evidence", they are human, they come out to prove a hypothesis because NO ONE wants to admit they were wrong. The suggestion otherwise is veneration, just as any fanatic and devotee has towards their spiritual leader.
You act as if ONE scientists can just come up with any idea he wants and convince everyone else he's right without backing it up. You couldn't be more wrong. If a scientists has a hypotheses, no other scientists will take him seriously unless he can prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Only then is it considered a theory and published in magazines/taught in schools. Religion has no evidence. It's just a bunch dumb ass fairy tales created by ancient people.
And it is convenient that all those scientists who disagree with darwinian evolution are no longer "scientists", much like the catholic church kept the Bible in latin and thus dictated what its teachings were, and burned or excommunicated their "heretics", so too the atheist scientific community gets to dictate the facts and burn anyone at the stake who disagrees with them. Be an atheist all you want, just don't pretend your side isn't going to cheat anymore than the theist side is.
At any rate, anyone who believes there is no God and is satisfied with the usually absurd theories as to how no God is needed for everything to be as it is, will not be convinced by anything I have to say, perhaps what anyone has to say. Just as alot of theists would never convert with the truth glaring right at them. The bottom line is this; no atheist will change, only an agnostic. For an atheist has already decided as to what state God is in. And an agnostic has not. Evidence shmevidence.
@happyperson123456 Wasn't talking about evolution, and yes, alot of it is absurd, such as the supposed evolution of the flagellum, 40 working parts not one of which can be removed and each part is difficult enough to produce, that evolved? Its only claimed to have evolved because they're in over their necks, would be hard to swallow your pride and admit to failure. I'm not debating that right now though. If it is personal opinion give me some numbers against my statements.
@MagnusCattus Its your opinion not fact. I trust peer review scientific articles and the majority of the science community supports evolution, there is tons of evidence to support it. The fact that I'm taking chemistry and biology in medical school also makes evolution completely true to me because I can see if for myself. This is pointless, we will just go around in circles like most of these theist vs atheist debates. Have a nice day!!!
@happyperson123456 Then why did you respond to me? and I actualy dont care. You trust peer reviewed articles. I don't tink there is much I could say at that point.
You're clearly very intelligent, and it's very refreshing. I am a Christian and I don't wish to argue with you on any points you made in your video. I would however like to acknowledge the idea of Satan and Hell. As a Christian, I find the concept of Hell to be ridiculous. To me Hell is something that was originally thought up by the Catholic Church to keep people in the pews, nothing more. Nobody, in my mind at least, should fear Satan.
I totally agree. I just think the same things of the entire concept of gods. Well with gods, it may have originated as a way to explain the explainable but I still don't see how any of the stories about gods or spirits or angels or demons could possibly be anything more than myths. They seem about as realistic to me as comic book super heroes.
I love how people love to love to condemn where in the bible say that god would be the only person to judge. I fucking hate hypocrites. go ahead and make arguments. but if you call yourself a christian you gotta love everyone at least according to your bible.
I totally agree and you explain it very well, especially your first point. This is something I've tried to explain to friends but they never seem to get it. I am definitely going to show them your video, as it explains my own thoughts in much clearer terms than I am capable of. Thanks! :D
you contradict alot of what you said... would explain... but i don't feel like typing. besides there's no way you can convert an atheist. but fuck what you say... when you see ur bout to go head on with another car... I know that Jesus and/or God comes to mind or the first word you scream
I don't contradict myself...ever. In fact I have taken several logic tests which asked me to explain my beliefs and every single time, my beliefs have had NO contradictions with one another. The fact that you claim that I contradict myself but then refuse to give an example is pretty laughable. Also, if I was about to be in a car crash I think I would say something like, "Oh FUCK!" or "SHIT!" or "Look out CAR!" Or maybe just "CAR!" Jesus wouldn't come to my mind lol.
So give me an example of one of my contradictions. Since I contradict A LOT of what I say, it should be easy for you to demonstrate just ONE. I guarantee that you can't do it but I'm also betting that you're too afraid to try. By now you're probably getting the sense that you were mistaken in your presumptions or that you're simply too dim to grasp what I was saying. In any event, I'd love to hear my contradictions. If you're correct, I will be thoroughly impressed.
Hey. I know this is a fairly old video, but I wanted to ask if you still wanted to publish a novel and if you'd made any progress on that front since posting this video. I'm an author myself, so I like to help others if and when I can. :)
I have made a lot of progress in terms of improving my writing and the story itself, however I have not made any progress as far as publishing. Any input/help would be very appreciated.
Right... but a preacher is promising people that if they think in these ways and follow certain rules and beliefs, that they'll get some afterlife reward. I simply said that in order to understand the universe we need to think in ways that we are not capable of thinking. I was not urging anyone to do so...I was simply pointing out the fact that there are some things that are just beyond us intellectually. Humans are smart, but we do have limits.
@tylermccail7777777 you are too, it just so happens its do nothing and recieve nothing. other than secularly of course. I'm sorry mate but this just wasn't a good arguement, if it satisfies you that's just dandy, but I'll stick with my religion.
You see the thing is for me, given the nature of all "creation" that being organisms, and the cosmos, the order and precision suggests a designer, TO ME it does. get that straight. coincedentaly there happens to be a book dealing with that subject.
Your position is based on a baseless assumption. You're talking about a personal opinion and I am talking about objective reasoning. The fact that you have an opinion and you're sticking to it doesn't make it any less silly. You are saying, "I can't imagine how this could happen without a creator, therefore it HAD to have come from a creator". So whenever YOU don't understand something, you can just make something up to answer the question for you.
@tylermccail7777777 Another play at ignorance. Sigh* Why is it no atheist/evolutionist
has to make that idiotic statement at least once. Its so rediculous, anyone who disagrees with you cannot understand it. That is EXACTLY the premise behind the Old fable "The emperor's new clothes", anyone who disagrees is therefor stupid/unlearned/stubborn/ad hominem. This is why I really don't care, there are plenty of scientists who don't believe in evolution or naturalism.
And how is, "do nothing and receive nothing" making a promise lol. I'm not saying anyone's life is going to get better if they stop believing in God. I'm just saying what I think.
@tylermccail7777777 in all fairness though, these "qeustions for atheists" or "atheists nightmare" are just embarrassing to any serious theist. An atheist has already made up his mind as to the non-existance of God, therefore no evidence or logic no matter how well done will never sway a made mind, that is without an emotional-reconoitering of ones thoughts. That is not to suggest the irrational, merely the change in perspective, allowing new thought paths. These questions should be directed to-
@MagnusCattus Even if you can prove God exists, why would you worship it, especially the God described in the bible? The God concept described in the bible isn't one I would worship even if its existence can be proven.
@happyperson123456 Thats a death sentence to the atheist ideaology you know? Let me just explain this and try nto to get defensive. The "God of the bible", is nothing like the God of the bible. Theres more atheists than you think that don't belive in God because of the precieved injustices, rather than the physical evidence. Could it just be possible that perhaps there is a malevolent force working against God, and what better way than to pervert his word with insane fantatics
@MagnusCattus Not really. I don't see the point in worshipping a higher being, if god exist why thank him all the time. I just don't see the point in worshipping something so vain and narcissistic.
@happyperson123456 The bible has been used to controle people for centuries, and relativly little of what is taught about God & the Bible is even close to what it actualy says. I could go on for hours about that, but I'm not going to unless someone is listening, are you?
@tylermccail7777777 Egnostics. I might be misusing the words, but let's not bicker about semantics, you should be mature enough to know what exactly I meant. There are some atheists who could be hit by a metoerite with a little note tied to it that said "hey idiot I'm right here-signed God", and still not accept God. Likely making some naturalist explanation as to what happened. Just as there are some theists would could get a message saying "hey idiot, wrong religion" and still not change.
@tylermccail7777777 If you are one of those atheists, I'm not saying, that's entirely up to you. I imagine you will want to respond, and I guess i won't stop you if you have something half-way intelligent to say to me, and it not being wrapped up in some slur. I find discussing matters with atheists to be a largley unrewarding experience, at least online anyways. So, if you choose to respond keep it somewhat within the realm of polite or don't respond at all. please.
What "slur" did I ever say either in my video or in response to you? You said I sound like a preacher and I explained the fundimental difference between an atheist and a religious preacher. I also went on to explain that what I was saying was not an invitation to "think in ways that we are not capable of thinking" but a statement that human beings are of limited intelligence. Myself included. I don't know how the universe got here and neither do you.
Anyone who claims to KNOW how or why the universe originated is either a deluded or flat out lying. All modern science can find at this point is that 13.5 billion years ago there was an enormous expansion of matter which they call the big bang. No one knows what caused the expansion, where the matter/energy came from in the first place or what, if anything existed before it. Christians say that "God must have done it" But lacking knowledge can no be replaced by an assumption.
And if one makes such an assumption, they haven't changed anything. The truth remains that no one really knows. Just like ancient people used to pray or dance for rain. They didn't understand that the whether functions entirely indecently of our wishes. Today most people know that rain is a natural process and praying or wishing for it to come or go away has no impact whatsoever. We understand it, so it's no longer magical to us. Someday, perhaps the universe will be understood
@tylermccail7777777 - veiw point. God is not limited by time, nor by energy, the universe is well organised, at least to the point where it isn't flat out collapsing in on itself or some such event as you would expect from an explosion. So this makes the ID hypothesis the most plausible, regardless of evidence. Now to say you don't find any circular reasoning within this isn't entirely true, but that is where a "leap of faith" comes in. -
@tylermccail7777777 I'm a bit tired right now so i'll have to try to explain better later.
To take a step back and forget all of human history, the assertion that the bible was inspired by God, and that God is as He is depicted by the bible, is arbitrary and perhaps circular, and yes faith is needed to accept that. But since the Bible does contain things no human could have known at the time it becomes apparent that there is perhaps something to the assumption.
Name ONE thing that's in the bible that "no human could have known at the time" The fact that you just said that without a single example says to me that it's just a talking point which you've grown accustomed to using in debates. One without any substance to support it however. I invite you to prove me wrong. Give me an example.
@tylermccail7777777 And on that, with one final thought. I think one of the best indications of the holy scripture's divinity is within the Genesis account itself. These days did not mean literal days, but rather just periods of time. From what I've heard of how life is supposedly to have "evolved" from non living matter to complex organisms, syncs up with the Genesis' account. Thats not something I can explain easily so I'll have to respond later.
@tylermccail7777777 Common atheist mistake made. Myster =/= God did it is not something I have ever heard a theist say although a defense is made on behalf of atheists against this.. for some reason. God created the universe therefore a naturalist explanation cannot exist. Its not THAT we don't know so God did it, its THAT we DO know God did it, and it only helps our case by there being no good arugement against it. Other than that idiotic arguement "uh well wheres the proof"-
@MagnusCattus Everytime evidence of God is presented it is chucked up, in favor of some convoluded naturalist explanation. Aye, we know why and how it rains, but theres a BIG difference between matter coming from what is essentialy nothing, to being wrong that God doesn't directly controle the weather. Everytime a naturalistic arguement tries to confront the problem of what made the universe, ther ewill always be a chronological or physical problem. None such problem exists with the theists'-
No. There aren't any problems with any naturalist explanations. There ARE things left unexplained but that's too be expected since human beings possess limited knowledge (as I have said about 4 times now) The fact that religious people claim to have all the answers is in and of itself PROOF that religion is false. How can limited beings possess limitless knowledge? You claim that it's from God, but God is a man made concept.
How is, "There is no proof" an idiotic argument. Not only is there no proof of the Christian God or any other god for that matter. There isn't even any evidence. Why would you believe something without any evidence?
and only theists wage wars and atheists didn't start any wars? u got to be kidding. Stalin Helloooo, Do you think secular Middle Eastern people are not atheists? Where do you live? Some old time school place? Do your research man.
@msmkurt1 Stalin was raised Catholic and the only reason that he forbade relgion was because it was a political threat to his rule. What people in the Middle East are secular?
All religions are not the same, so to say that so many wars were started by religion that's why you avoid it is... allowing yourself not to go too deep in it so that your justification that you have found in saying such a thing won't be challenged in your mind and you won't have to think of an alternative. There are religions that worship God and religions that worship the devil. Without being a Christian and knowing what these two each stand for, which set of ppl do you think are responsible?
Where do do you get the idea that I don't "go deep enough" into it? I'm well aware of the differences of various religions and I know the MOST about Christianity. Currently, Islam is the worst religion in terms of violence. Christianity is probably second although, I don't know how bad things are everywhere. I can only go by what I've experienced and my experience says that Islam is currently more violent. Historically though, they're both horrific.
@tylermccail7777777 I'm not saying that you don't know much about Christianity, in fact, I am sure that you very well do know a lot about Christianity. I'm just saying that using your common sense, and knowing your history of such things, wouldn't you say that satanism is most likely to be behind most of the wars of which you speak, rather than Christianity?
Lol. No. Are you kidding me? Satanism is a tiny, fringe religion with basically no power whatsoever. Christianity is the biggest, most powerful religion in the entire world. More lives have been ended/destroyed under the banner of the cross than any other in history as far as I know.
I never said that I KNOW there is no God. Religious people claim to KNOW God is real. I am simply saying that without evidence to support a claim, there is no reason to take it seriously, especially when the claim is fantastic like..an ALL POWERFUL MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE
If I told you that I saw a lion in my backyard of my house in New England would you believe me just because I said it? No, you would require some evidence, like a photo or a video.
Well...I'm an atheist and you said atheists are as stupid as mad religious people. I was correcting you. Religious people believe in absurd nonsense without a shred of evidence. Atheists don't believe in that absurd nonsense. How are the two equal? Also, I have never met an atheist who claims to KNOW that there is no god. Atheism is simply the lack of belief in god(s). Nothing more.
I like how you think:) I agree with alot that you said... I do believe in a god though... I Dnt know what this god may be but I am dn sure there is something or someone or a being spiritually connected to Many people... The only thing that turns me of religion although I am religious in, is the people that abuse peoples believes... Hillsong... They take money out of peoples accounts ... Percentages of peoples wages... That kills me inside
@Aleksamson You guys rely on religion to live a saint way?
To live in peace?
The fact is that by thinking that you oppose people thought, and by doing this it's how you cause war i am 17 yet i understand that what's wrong with you're generation are you guys that fucking stupid?
Peace remain in respecting people thought, not telling them they are wrong.
As long as there be people like you thinking they do the right thing while in fact fucking everything up, there will be war.
@QCBEC I'm afraid You've mistaken me for someone else. I don't think my thinking can couse any war, unless someone wants to kill me for what I believe & I certainly don't rely on religion
How 'bout this.... Everything is too f***d-up to have evolved!
Trying to "logicallize" your way falls far short of the bigger picture of fallible man.. & how WE know that HE ISNT divine, .. & how he got that way...& why he would really love immortality!
Why does entropy rule? Why do animals, (except homogenized pets), fear us?
I say, there's a conspiracy of a fallen angel claiming & craving divinity.
Relax! Atheism is also a RELIGION of self-defeating logic.
"Logicalize" isn't a word and has no meaning. Being reasonable, as I am, doesn't fall short of anything. Your next sentence was entirely incoherent.
Entropy is energy being converted into heat. I don't see how it "rules" anything. It's just the way the universe works. Energy goes from usable to unusable and not the other way around. Therefore, eventually, after TRILLIONS of years the entire universe will cease to exist as it is.
@tylermccail7777777 Why do you think I put quotes around the word?? You got the point.
You're wrong on entropy. Look the word up for yourself. (Advise Webster) "Order to disorder" -- "heat/energy to dissipation" You must ascribe to the "big bang" theory?? "Something from Nothing" counters your logic and belief system. Who's incoherent? I know exactly what I say...and exactly what I mean. To follow my logic requires a degree of introspection. You have a carnal head. Sorry you can't keep up.
@tylermccail7777777 energy is infinite, since if that were true it would all be BOOM already, and since time is infinite, everything goes on forever, and time is not linear it is a cycle, think about it, information is immortal, because of time, etc. atheism theism its all got to get a better look at, each has to accept the others strengths and take advantage of their weaknesses. THE END
More pointless rambling. You have to actually say something when trying to make a point. Sentences that don't hold together and are unreadable don't add up to a rational thought.
@tylermccail7777777 ah but rational thought is not human is it now? emotions are not rational, but how we learn is, we as beings are not rational, and u have no idea how much i know u are running away from the question answers ive had this kind of cop out used against alot more than u could ever imagine, why would ppl believe from the dawn of man (over 100000 years ago) believe in a higher meaning, plus higher meaning is a form of deity ;D
I'm sorry, did you just accuse me of running away from a question or using a cop out? What cop out did I use? What question am I running from? I assure you, I would NEVER do either, unless answering a question meant death or death of someone I cared about. I am more honest and can handle truth better than anyone I have ever met. Hence, why I accept that I'm going to die someday and I don't pretend to know that I'm gonna go live in some happy cloud city with Jesus.
And why would ancient people believe in a deity? Hmmm, idk...maybe because the feared death just like modern people do. Maybe because they missed their dead friends and family just as modern people do. Maybe because they understood even LESS about the world and how and why things happen than modern people do. The question isn't why ancients believed...I understand that. The question is why modern people do, considering all that we do know about the natural world.
@tylermccail7777777 well we know VERY LITTLE of the world and nature today, what we do not know is usually well actually change tracks here what we see is created "refer person to deepak chopra here" and surprisingly we cannot recreate what the ancients could do by hand with the most modern technology, hmm i wonder why, well when they are asked they say a spirit is doing it not them, and well its not death that spurres us to it, but only the brave have faith ;D
@tylermccail7777777 they actual understood far more than we do about the world and universe, more specifically the consciousness, watch deepak chopra he has really good ways of explaining it, but also it lays for atheists to prove theists wrong and i see any argument that is valid, extinction, and the insignificance of us is a foul and misunderstanding perspective, and here u are talking about destiny and fate, now thats something to think about isnt it, plus.....
@tylermccail7777777 plus aristotels intelligent design is a very ultimate truth, u are energy and vibration of the molecules, but how do those molecules know how to make ur shape? they have some consciousness deepak chopra refers to thee body as a process rather than a stable being, think about it, we are not wise at all, we are all fools, it all depends on how we spend that time fooling around ;D
Atheism is a stance on a single concept (the lack of belief in any gods). This does not constitute a religion in any way. A religion is a structure of beliefs and a set of rules all based on stories and legends that people dreamed up.
@tylermccail7777777 Atheism isn't a structure of beliefs?? That's what atheism is, as a profession. It propagates a communal "belief" driven SOLEY by logic & science. No "religiosity" required. <---yes, that's a word. How 'bout .."any object of conscientious regard & pursuit"? Don't you say you have a sense of morality? ..of reason? ..of fairness? --yet life comes from "nothing", as a professed atheist. You're drinking the prime water without first pouring into the Pump, so ALL are refreshed.
@microvantastic man has a part of us called the conscious, or otherwise the soul, without which, you are dead, the end, atheism maybe dead, lot of religions maybe dead, rethink it all into experiments, go ahead, closest ur getting is well "there is this energy and this energy and when they react then this happens" science will only get you this close, PHILOSOPHY IS THE WAY TO GO :D
@microvantastic true for me hes an entity, for u maybe he goes by the name god or maybe its a she, in my opinion its a idea, the ideal of higher consciousness, the ideal that everything needs a creator to start, since obviously we can only get so far, but thanks to the gift of free will, we can decide that for urself, u are very right
Dropped out of high school in the 10th grade. Got my G.E.D. Hopefully getting back to school soon. I just care a lot about big picture stuff and I've lived a lot you know? I've known many different types of people. I've primarily educated myself so I know a lot about politics, government, science and religion. Not so much math though lol. I'm not terrible at it but it's not fun for me like the other areas of study.
How do you prove or disprove god exists? What kind of proof are athiests looking for? Faith alone is not enough? A picture proves nothing? Millions of eyewitness accounts are bullshit?? So what proof do you want? If you never saw a dog only heard of them how would you scientifically prove a dog existed? If this said dog lived in a place you could not travel to? Just curious on what proof is needed? Cant answer? We will wait till we are all dead then we will all know until then STFU!
Just read what you wrote back to yourself. You just sent an angry, snotty rant to someone for making a video in which they harmlessly express their opinions. I meant no one any disrespect, I was simply responding to another users video. He ASKED atheists to respond to his five questions and I did so. Basically, you feel that I don't have right to express my opinions because they differ from your own. Is that a non-judgmental, Christ-like way to behave?
@tylermccail7777777 Not angry just asking some questions. The STFU was more or less directed at angry bitter athiests who demean everyone who thinks differently. Sorry if I offended you. BTW I am not Christian nor do I attend church I am also not baptized. You posted a video on you tube expecting responses do I not have the right to express mine? Can you answer the question? How do you prove or disprove God exists? What kind of proof would you need?
Now as far as your repetitive question, "What proof do you want?" and your poorly thought out arguments about pictures and so-called eye-witnesses, I have this to say.
There are thousands of pictures fo ZEUS and Herculese, Odin and Thor etc. Do these pictures prove that Greek and Norse gods/heroes really existed? Muslims claim to have the same experiences with Allah as Christians to with Yahweh, so is Allah real too?
@tylermccail7777777 Allah, Yahweh,God, Zues,Thor and the many other names whom we call God is one and the same. Are you too simple to realize that? Seriously study up on it even if you don't believe it is interesting stuff and you will see the similarities across all cultures, religions, and people. You still did not answer me and my poorly thought out question LOL. What proof do you want? How would someone prove or disprove he/she exists? I am waiting.....
If a giant force field appeared around the planet and shortly thereafter, the planet was rocketed forward 93 million miles, straight through the sun and then another 93 million miles to the other side of our orbit, then it suddenly was May weather outside and a flaming chariot came down and a man stepped out of it said to the entire world simultaneously, "Hi, I'm God, that was me."
That would be proof of God. Happy? I answered your dumb question now go away.
And what eyewitness accounts are you talking about? Surely you don't mean the inconsistent gospels that differ in WHERE Jesus was born and whether or not he was born of a virgin do you? You know, the gospels that were written DECADES after the supposed crucifixion of Jesus? Don't come at me with your garbage as if I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm an atheist precisely BECAUSE I know SO MUCH about religion. It's all bullshit. It's all make believe like Santa or Superman.
@tylermccail7777777 The millions upon millions of people who have experienced NDE and been to other side and back, The millions from all over the world who have expieranced or seen something supernatural. IDK why you are bringing Jesus into this? I am not talking about the bible which I do not put my faith in seriously. To many changes and things left out in order to abuse power. You so obviously know jack about religion. You should study all religions not just Christianty.
Am I too simple to realize what? That you THINK all of those Gods come from the same concepts? ZEUS and Yahweh are TOTALLY different. Allah and Yahweh are similar but so what? When did I say any God was more valid than another. I'm an ATHEIST dumb-ass. That means I know they are ALL made up.
Tyler - Your humanity and intelligence shines through this video. You almost make Dawkins seem a lower primate (just kidding). Your thinking is always scientific and humane, subtle and sharp. You found a purpose for your life and you make the rest of us feel better about ours. See ya in church, buddy!
Christians, no change that, the religious are getting pissed off because they can no longer "kill off' non-believers and peddlers of the truth as they did in the past. They have to sit there and watch as their religious stories dissolve into the past with stories of Zeus and Apollo. They are reluctantly realizing their God, like all other gods of humanities past and present is dying and fading away. It's being buried with the ancient ignorant peoples that created it/them.
SENTIENT(conscieous) ANIMALS PUT A FACE TO NATURAL PHENOMENA - Evolution of 'god' concept.
- All anyone has to do is see an animal react to noise or movement in the woods and watch it assume something is there, something invisible to be wary of. Some unusual invisible force that must be respected and scared of, and how easily this assumption can be extrapolated into an all mighty invisible being at the cause of all things unknown by sentient beings. Belief in god is more proof of evolution.
It is sad how many people dislike another person solely because they are different. Just that simple idea that "you are not like me" or "you don't think like or do things like me" has created so much strife on this world. What's even sadder is how there are people who go out of their way to find a reason to put someone down for who they are.
Nr1: BEcause if there was nothing, we wouldnt be talking about that. So for us to be talking about that there first needs to be something. The question itself is based on our very existenc VS the fact that if we didnt exist the question wouldnt be there.
Double thumbs up for you, dude. I liked both your rational thinking AND your attitude. Calm and reasonable, no insults to the religious minded, just stating what a reasonable human can think based on our scientific knowledge and philosofical thinking. Good luck with your novel.... and dont felle bad to use the money on yourself too, should you succeed =)
I believe in God. God Made the universe for His Glory. Just because a book is old does not make its points less valid. Theism gives one purpose and hope, like you said. Our purpose is to bring glory to God, and we will whether we now want to or not (check back with me on that). The Devil would LOVE for you to think He doesn't exist, so He can operate without acknowledgement or challenge. Atheism is false. The USSR was atheist and naturally fascist. Read Whitaker Chambers' "Witness."
The USSR's atheism had nothing to do with it's fascism. Stalin was a crazy person. If an insane person, religious or not becomes the head of a government, it's bad news for everybody.
I'm not advocating state enforced atheism. I would never advocate or endorse something like that nor have I ever meet an atheist who would. I have heard theists say that atheists don't have the right to be atheists, that the constitution does NOT grant freedom FROM religion.
That sounds pretty fascist to me. However, my points don't hinge on who runs a better country (atheists or theists), though if they did, I could make a damn good case anyway. My points are based on LOGIC. Without sufficient evidence to support something, the only logical stance to take is to assume that it's not real. You know, like most people think that Superman and Santa Clause aren't real. God is a fictional character. That is a fact. Could there be a God? Yes.
No, the STORY says that Yahweh did those things. There is NO evidence that Yahweh ever did anything. Just like there is no evidence that ZEUS or Allah ever did anything. The reason for this is that they are all mythological characters. They are works of fiction.
What eyewitness accounts? The gospels that talk about Jesus weren't even written until decades after his supposed death. They're also inconsistent. Only two of the four gospels that talk about Jesus mention the virgin birth. Matt and Luke write of the virgin birth while Mark and John do not. Now if you were writing down events that ACTUALLY took place, would you leave out the part about a man being born of a virgin? John also fails to mention the resurrection.
@MissChikki777 There are eyewitness accounts for just about every god ever worshiped by man. Obviously you know very little of world religious history.
@MissChikki777 you have to be trolling, otherwise you are incredibly misinformed. The Qu' ran is exactly the same as the bible as far as eyewitness accounts. And their are plenty of records of "eye witness" accounts for zues. There are also hundreds of "eye witness" accounts for alien abductions and big foot and the loch ness monster and leprechauns. There's a whole town in USA that claim to have been terrorised by a leprechaun. Just because crazy people see things doesn't make them true.
Mr. uploader your first point is what I ve been shouting to theists all my life. God is a simple answer to whatever we dont understand (yet). People used to think that the plague was sent by god because they didnt have advanced medicine yet to understand viruses..now they know it was a virus not god..and so on..anything not yet explained? "god"..yeah right..poor theists you re low intelligence.
@tylermccail7777777 You explain things so well and if you write that novel I hope you have some Atheist character in the novel that shows them as thoughtful and capable of good and not "terrible beasts of satan" ..ha.
There are three primary characters. Tyler, after whom my Youtube account is named, is an atheist and a total bad ass/genius. Kyle is a christian and a super genius (even smarter than Tyler) Kyle's tormented past force him to hold onto the "God crutch" and Ryan who doesn't put too much thought into religion. Ryan is just a happy-go-lucky soldier trying to protect his family.
@tylermccail7777777 Ha .. but then you have a dream and a great purpose that some might think contradicts what u previously said and so a lot of simple-minded people will tell you "see the Lord is showing himself through u as u find your purpose in improving the world. That is why you are here, Tyler/Kyle?Ryan". In other words, you can't win for losing in convincing believers .. oh well. But at least you demonstrate a humanity missing in most believers & non-believers.
@tylermccail7777777 You add an extra edge of humanity lacking sometimes in Dawkins and Hitchens and so you are a good preacher for the Atheist cause..
@tylermccail7777777 Don't worry I checked out the 3 Faces of You and you aren't telling me anything I didn't intuit about you already. I like the way you explain "that doesn't mean pulling out a book that a bunch of bronze age primitive wrote and going 'well I like that! That is not figuring out the answers that is accepting what a bunch of people who had no idea what they were talking about wrote down in a fairy tale compilation".
@tylermccail7777777 Well the video is chock full of goodies including "occupying an infinitesimal sphere which is orbiting around a tiny ball of burning gas admits an endless vacuum and we have no idea why. We don't even know if WHY is an applicable question because there may be no philosophical reason for our existence..." So how do I reconcile? I don't"
Word up! E=mc2 is all we need. Meaning and purpose, eh, what does that even mean? Justification? Fullfillment? Does an orchid need transcendental validation? Philisophically speaking; an orchid is as an orchid does, we are no different!
The best "evidence" of theism is from "A History of God" which explains how El Elyon of the Canaanite polytheism became a theistic god. But it's evidence in support of how God is made up
Christians are allowed to question their religion. Its encouraged. They don't need to be afraid of going to hell for any thought or action. You can't earn your way into heaven or earn your way out of heaven. That is a reply to your comment at around the 8 minute mark. I wasn't going to comment on your statements, until I heard that. I just wanted to let you know that you would really enjoy Immanuel Kant. Maybe you already enjoy him. Your beginning statements have the same philosophy.
@ImmaDwarfKicker Yes. The Bible says nonbelievers go to hell. I'm not sure if you are adding to my comment or saying that I said something incorrect. I wasn't describing the results of non-belief. I was describing skepticism.
Just because you're personal interpretation of Christianity, or that of some writer is more liberal and you don't fear questioning the existence of God, that doesn't mean that is how the church is designed. Sure it is more forgiving today than say...in the dark ages, but the really hardcore Christians still fear damnation and become uncomfortable if you ask them to consider the possibility that there is no God.
@tylermccail7777777 It's not liberal. Its the main focal point that Christ died for our sins and conquered death. Belief in that, saves you from damnation. I believe really hardcore Christians get uncomfortable if asked to consider there is no God. Being uncomfortable with the thought should not be interpreted as fear of damnation for that thought. Using the scare tactic of damnation never has a lasting effect, if it works at all.
@turkeypantz It's not really encouraged in most churches as questions lead to nonconforming idealization and investigations and most religions fear that the most .. they need membership to make their money in part to proselyte . Satan and god keep most Christians from questioning..
@11xzxzxz I believe that there are churches that don't encourage questioning God's existence. I can't agree that "most" of them are that way. The questioning is what leads a person to Christianity. Just to be clear, the "questioning" I am talking about may be derived from doubt. But, for me, it comes from objective thinking. However, I DO agree that tylermccail7777777 is not arrogant and is just explaining ideas.
@turkeypantz i don't really know what the percentage of churches that encourage questioning is I just think they may go through the motions of encouraging doubt but only "small doubt" not real "skepticism". I do know that the vast majority of Christians don't even know the Bible and knowing10% of the Bible and the "nicest passages" is not knowing it. Tell me the 2 or 3 most disturbing things you have found in the bible? And tell me a couple of reasons why there is probably not a god?
@11xzxzxz The way Christ was tortured, before death, Abraham being asked to kill his son, Sodom and Gomorrah are all disturbing. I can't tell you any "reasons why there is probably not a god". Maybe you're looking for instances when I would say it seems like God isn't a loving God. Hard times like: loss of a child or repeated sickness and violent tragedies. If you are familiar, can you tell me any of Jesus' philosophy that seems mean or inhumane? See books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
@turkeypantz Sure I can give example after example of Jesus' cruelty and god's inhumanity as recorded in the bible. I take it literally or figurative .. both ways stink to high heaven (ha) . I will do this tomorrow I am real tired. But thanks for getting back and showing you are not a coward and avoid the other side as lots of people do .. I feel a little better about the world right now as you didn't dis me and you seem curious to understand..
@11xzxzxz I know there are plenty of "Atheists' favorite Bible verses" that make God look like a total Jerk. Some uneducated atheists just take things out of context. Some intellectual atheists make valid points. Points that are hard for me to debate, even though I have understood the Christian view that's been explained to me. What I am wondering is: do you find anything wrong with Jesus' philosophy? The way he instructs us to behave and treat each other, as in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
@turkeypantz Well that is the same way religious people ALways take the prettiest passages and psalm and BS of the bible. DON'T DO ANY WORK OR INVESTIGATE ON YOUR OWN. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO TELL YOU STUFF..? I have told a million others like you and you just don't listen .. even the more open-minded like you. and you will tell me how i have taken things out of context. THERE ARE BOOKS AND ARTICLES TO READ ABOUT WHAT A NUT JESUS WAS. JESUS WANTED ALL SKEPTICS TO SPEND AN ETERNITY IN HELL
@turkeypantz JuST LISTEN TO TYLER. HE MAKES SENSE. MAYBE IT IS NEW TO YOU BUT LISTEN TO wHAT HE SAYS AS HE MAKES MORE LOGIC AND REASON IN 10 MINUTES THAN THE ENTIRE BIBLE. IF you think I am joking here you have me wrong. Also, the old testacles say that parents should stone and kill a child who talks back to them (it's at the parents discretion) , stone and kill those who work on the Sabbath and stone and kill a woman on her freaking wedding night is she is not a virgin..
@turkeypantz so IF THIS DOESN'T WHET YOUR APPETITE AND YOU NEED TO TELL ME i AM TAKING THINGS OUT OF CONTEXT AND YOUR FRIENDS THINK I AM WEIRD FOR TYPING IN CAPITAL LETTERS THEN YOU ARE HOPELESS AND THEY ARE AS-H. ALSO BECAUSE I AM USING CAPITAL LETTERS SHOULD THAT DETRACT IN ANY WAY FROM WHAT I WRITE? no HOW DOES ACTING LIKE A NUT OR LOUD MOUTH DETRACT FROM WHATEVER LOGIC I AM USING?
@turkeypantz WELL THE SAME WAY IF JESUS WAS A UGLY UGLY GUY AND HE PROBABLY WAS AS THERE IS NO DESCRIPTION OF HOW HE LOOKS IN THE BIBLE OR IF HE STUTTERED THEN NOBODY WOULD BUY THE NONSENSE IN THE BIBLE. PEOPLE ARE VERY GULLIBLE SIMPLE-MINDED AND SHALLOW. IT'S YOUR CHOICE .. DO YOU WANT TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX AND READ A BOOK BY AN ATHEIST OR CONTINUE TO BELIEVE WHAT PEOPLE TELL YOU SINCE YOU WERE AN KID? JUST READ OR LISTEN ON YOUR OWN AND GET BOTH SIDES AND DECIDE FOR YOURSELF. TAKE CARE.
@11xzxzxz I don't work Sundays, or any day I choose for my sabbath. But I have plenty of sins under my belt. ///// I very much enjoy Hitchens. My pastor & I discuss how brilliant he is, although we don't agree with his beliefs. Jesus was very undesirable. He strolled in on a donkey from a no-big-deal-town & ran with very unsavory people. Many expected someone much more majestic and less moody. Some say that the new testament was written in an unsophisticated "street language" of the time.
@11xzxzxz I understand why you think I haven't listened to/ read what atheists have to say & that Christians only concentrate on scriptures that resemble pony rides and rainbow skittles. I can only assume that you don't attend church regularly & (maybe) have a biased view of what gets discussed. HERE IS BOTH SIDES: Atheists used to be quiet outcasts, but now speak up with very valid points. Christians used to only regurgitate scripture, but now deal with more philosophy & difficult questions.
@turkeypantz Well I hope what you say is true about Christians taking on more philosophy and difficult questions but they should also include logic and just reading what the offensive bible says? It is so offense. I think religion could be great a thing and does much good but why do we have to believe in stuff that goes against common sense, morality, science? Obviously you are on this site and reading and that seems, to me, to show you are open-minded and stretching for better answers.
@turkeypantz I am Jewish and went to Hebrew school for many years but I never ever believed in god or the bible since I was about 7. No one in my family criticized me but they all disagree with me. I was the shyest guy then now reincarnated as a loudmouth at moments and a loner but not by design but I have a few Very close friends. Friends are the most important thing in the world to me.
@turkeypantz You write not like the typical Christian but with an open-mind so that is a complement so I put you down as a friend if you want to be mine. You are one of the few believers who treated me civilly. Also, I have meet lots of Atheist and really most are not outcasts or loners and they are as moral as Christians. I know. I have read the studies, I have studied their behavior, and I see no difference except Christians give more to Charity. And Jews give more than Christians. ha.
@turkeypantz And when you listen to Tyler he says he is not going to tell a nine year old boy that heaven is bs. He has compassion too. I wonder if others visiting this site can tell he is a man of logic and passion and compassion. All three are very important. And I don't know Tyler from Adam..ha
I found that weird part of YouTube again. Happy hunting, Mr. T!

and don't give me that BS about "oh scienctists just follow the evidence", they are human, they come out to prove a hypothesis because NO ONE wants to admit they were wrong. The suggestion otherwise is veneration, just as any fanatic and devotee has towards their spiritual leader.

@MagnusCattus

MagnusCattus 1 month ago
@MagnusCattus Evolution is not absurd. As a medical student I find that a little offensive. Lol
happyperson123456 1 month ago
@happyperson123456 Wasn't talking about evolution, and yes, alot of it is absurd, such as the supposed evolution of the flagellum, 40 working parts not one of which can be removed and each part is difficult enough to produce, that evolved? Its only claimed to have evolved because they're in over their necks, would be hard to swallow your pride and admit to failure. I'm not debating that right now though. If it is personal opinion give me some numbers against my statements.
MagnusCattus 1 month ago
@MagnusCattus Its your opinion not fact. I trust peer review scientific articles and the majority of the science community supports evolution, there is tons of evidence to support it. The fact that I'm taking chemistry and biology in medical school also makes evolution completely true to me because I can see if for myself. This is pointless, we will just go around in circles like most of these theist vs atheist debates. Have a nice day!!!

@kboanddbo
I totally agree. I just think the same things of the entire concept of gods. Well with gods, it may have originated as a way to explain the explainable but I still don't see how any of the stories about gods or spirits or angels or demons could possibly be anything more than myths. They seem about as realistic to me as comic book super heroes.

BossmanSkrilla 1 month ago
@BossmanSkrilla
I don't contradict myself...ever. In fact I have taken several logic tests which asked me to explain my beliefs and every single time, my beliefs have had NO contradictions with one another. The fact that you claim that I contradict myself but then refuse to give an example is pretty laughable. Also, if I was about to be in a car crash I think I would say something like, "Oh FUCK!" or "SHIT!" or "Look out CAR!" Or maybe just "CAR!" Jesus wouldn't come to my mind lol.
tylermccail7777777 1 month ago
@BossmanSkrilla

Right... but a preacher is promising people that if they think in these ways and follow certain rules and beliefs, that they'll get some afterlife reward. I simply said that in order to understand the universe we need to think in ways that we are not capable of thinking. I was not urging anyone to do so...I was simply pointing out the fact that there are some things that are just beyond us intellectually. Humans are smart, but we do have limits.
tylermccail7777777 2 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 you are too, it just so happens its do nothing and recieve nothing. other than secularly of course. I'm sorry mate but this just wasn't a good arguement, if it satisfies you that's just dandy, but I'll stick with my religion.
You see the thing is for me, given the nature of all "creation" that being organisms, and the cosmos, the order and precision suggests a designer, TO ME it does. get that straight. coincedentaly there happens to be a book dealing with that subject.
MagnusCattus 2 months ago
@MagnusCattus
So whenever YOU don't understand something, you can just make something up to answer the question for you.
tylermccail7777777 1 month ago
@tylermccail7777777 Another play at ignorance. Sigh* Why is it no atheist/evolutionist
has to make that idiotic statement at least once. Its so rediculous, anyone who disagrees with you cannot understand it. That is EXACTLY the premise behind the Old fable "The emperor's new clothes", anyone who disagrees is therefor stupid/unlearned/stubborn/ad hominem. This is why I really don't care, there are plenty of scientists who don't believe in evolution or naturalism.

These questions should be directed to-
MagnusCattus 2 months ago
@MagnusCattus Even if you can prove God exists, why would you worship it, especially the God described in the bible? The God concept described in the bible isn't one I would worship even if its existence can be proven.
happyperson123456 1 month ago
@happyperson123456 Thats a death sentence to the atheist ideaology you know? Let me just explain this and try nto to get defensive. The "God of the bible", is nothing like the God of the bible. Theres more atheists than you think that don't belive in God because of the precieved injustices, rather than the physical evidence. Could it just be possible that perhaps there is a malevolent force working against God, and what better way than to pervert his word with insane fantatics

@MagnusCattus Not really. I don't see the point in worshipping a higher being, if god exist why thank him all the time. I just don't see the point in worshipping something so vain and narcissistic.
happyperson123456 1 month ago
@happyperson123456 The bible has been used to controle people for centuries, and relativly little of what is taught about God & the Bible is even close to what it actualy says. I could go on for hours about that, but I'm not going to unless someone is listening, are you?
MagnusCattus 1 month ago
@tylermccail7777777 Egnostics. I might be misusing the words, but let's not bicker about semantics, you should be mature enough to know what exactly I meant. There are some atheists who could be hit by a metoerite with a little note tied to it that said "hey idiot I'm right here-signed God", and still not accept God. Likely making some naturalist explanation as to what happened. Just as there are some theists would could get a message saying "hey idiot, wrong religion" and still not change.
MagnusCattus 2 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 If you are one of those atheists, I'm not saying, that's entirely up to you. I imagine you will want to respond, and I guess i won't stop you if you have something half-way intelligent to say to me, and it not being wrapped up in some slur. I find discussing matters with atheists to be a largley unrewarding experience, at least online anyways. So, if you choose to respond keep it somewhat within the realm of polite or don't respond at all. please.
MagnusCattus 2 months ago
@MagnusCattus
I don't know how the universe got here and neither do you.
tylermccail7777777 2 months ago
@MagnusCattus
Christians say that "God must have done it" But lacking knowledge can no be replaced by an assumption.
tylermccail7777777 2 months ago
@MagnusCattus
Someday, perhaps the universe will be understood
tylermccail7777777 2 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 - veiw point. God is not limited by time, nor by energy, the universe is well organised, at least to the point where it isn't flat out collapsing in on itself or some such event as you would expect from an explosion. So this makes the ID hypothesis the most plausible, regardless of evidence. Now to say you don't find any circular reasoning within this isn't entirely true, but that is where a "leap of faith" comes in. -
MagnusCattus 2 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 I'm a bit tired right now so i'll have to try to explain better later.
To take a step back and forget all of human history, the assertion that the bible was inspired by God, and that God is as He is depicted by the bible, is arbitrary and perhaps circular, and yes faith is needed to accept that. But since the Bible does contain things no human could have known at the time it becomes apparent that there is perhaps something to the assumption.
MagnusCattus 2 months ago
@MagnusCattus
Name ONE thing that's in the bible that "no human could have known at the time" The fact that you just said that without a single example says to me that it's just a talking point which you've grown accustomed to using in debates. One without any substance to support it however. I invite you to prove me wrong. Give me an example.
tylermccail7777777 2 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 And on that, with one final thought. I think one of the best indications of the holy scripture's divinity is within the Genesis account itself. These days did not mean literal days, but rather just periods of time. From what I've heard of how life is supposedly to have "evolved" from non living matter to complex organisms, syncs up with the Genesis' account. Thats not something I can explain easily so I'll have to respond later.
MagnusCattus 2 months ago
@MagnusCattus
as well, but until then, it remains a mystery. Mystery =/= God did it.
tylermccail7777777 2 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 Common atheist mistake made. Myster =/= God did it is not something I have ever heard a theist say although a defense is made on behalf of atheists against this.. for some reason. God created the universe therefore a naturalist explanation cannot exist. Its not THAT we don't know so God did it, its THAT we DO know God did it, and it only helps our case by there being no good arugement against it. Other than that idiotic arguement "uh well wheres the proof"-
MagnusCattus 2 months ago
@MagnusCattus Everytime evidence of God is presented it is chucked up, in favor of some convoluded naturalist explanation. Aye, we know why and how it rains, but theres a BIG difference between matter coming from what is essentialy nothing, to being wrong that God doesn't directly controle the weather. Everytime a naturalistic arguement tries to confront the problem of what made the universe, ther ewill always be a chronological or physical problem. None such problem exists with the theists'-
MagnusCattus 2 months ago
@MagnusCattus
You claim that it's from God, but God is a man made concept.
tylermccail7777777 2 months ago
@MagnusCattus
How is, "There is no proof" an idiotic argument. Not only is there no proof of the Christian God or any other god for that matter. There isn't even any evidence. Why would you believe something without any evidence?

@tylermccail7777777 I'm not saying that you don't know much about Christianity, in fact, I am sure that you very well do know a lot about Christianity. I'm just saying that using your common sense, and knowing your history of such things, wouldn't you say that satanism is most likely to be behind most of the wars of which you speak, rather than Christianity?
pixelpuff 2 months ago
@pixelpuff
Lol. No. Are you kidding me? Satanism is a tiny, fringe religion with basically no power whatsoever. Christianity is the biggest, most powerful religion in the entire world. More lives have been ended/destroyed under the banner of the cross than any other in history as far as I know.

I believe jesus did existed he was a good soul, and that his message was not understood correctly.
I am not atheist and i do not believe because i do not know, i'll believe when i'll see because until then i could believe a shit load of thing.
QCBEC 2 months ago
@QCBEC

@QCBEC

WE are our own worst enemy.
microvantastic 3 months ago
@microvantastic
Well...nothing you just said makes any sense.
Therefore, eventually, after TRILLIONS of years the entire universe will cease to exist as it is.
tylermccail7777777 3 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 Why do you think I put quotes around the word?? You got the point.
You're wrong on entropy. Look the word up for yourself. (Advise Webster) "Order to disorder" -- "heat/energy to dissipation" You must ascribe to the "big bang" theory?? "Something from Nothing" counters your logic and belief system. Who's incoherent? I know exactly what I say...and exactly what I mean. To follow my logic requires a degree of introspection. You have a carnal head. Sorry you can't keep up.
microvantastic 3 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 energy is infinite, since if that were true it would all be BOOM already, and since time is infinite, everything goes on forever, and time is not linear it is a cycle, think about it, information is immortal, because of time, etc. atheism theism its all got to get a better look at, each has to accept the others strengths and take advantage of their weaknesses. THE END

More pointless rambling. You have to actually say something when trying to make a point. Sentences that don't hold together and are unreadable don't add up to a rational thought.
tylermccail7777777 2 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 ah but rational thought is not human is it now? emotions are not rational, but how we learn is, we as beings are not rational, and u have no idea how much i know u are running away from the question answers ive had this kind of cop out used against alot more than u could ever imagine, why would ppl believe from the dawn of man (over 100000 years ago) believe in a higher meaning, plus higher meaning is a form of deity ;D
MsMi321 1 month ago
@MsMi321
I'm sorry, did you just accuse me of running away from a question or using a cop out? What cop out did I use? What question am I running from? I assure you, I would NEVER do either, unless answering a question meant death or death of someone I cared about. I am more honest and can handle truth better than anyone I have ever met. Hence, why I accept that I'm going to die someday and I don't pretend to know that I'm gonna go live in some happy cloud city with Jesus.
tylermccail7777777 1 month ago
@MsMi321
The question is why modern people do, considering all that we do know about the natural world.
tylermccail7777777 1 month ago
@tylermccail7777777 well we know VERY LITTLE of the world and nature today, what we do not know is usually well actually change tracks here what we see is created "refer person to deepak chopra here" and surprisingly we cannot recreate what the ancients could do by hand with the most modern technology, hmm i wonder why, well when they are asked they say a spirit is doing it not them, and well its not death that spurres us to it, but only the brave have faith ;D
MsMi321 1 month ago
@tylermccail7777777 they actual understood far more than we do about the world and universe, more specifically the consciousness, watch deepak chopra he has really good ways of explaining it, but also it lays for atheists to prove theists wrong and i see any argument that is valid, extinction, and the insignificance of us is a foul and misunderstanding perspective, and here u are talking about destiny and fate, now thats something to think about isnt it, plus.....
MsMi321 1 month ago
@tylermccail7777777 plus aristotels intelligent design is a very ultimate truth, u are energy and vibration of the molecules, but how do those molecules know how to make ur shape? they have some consciousness deepak chopra refers to thee body as a process rather than a stable being, think about it, we are not wise at all, we are all fools, it all depends on how we spend that time fooling around ;D
MsMi321 1 month ago
@microvantastic
Conspiracy of a fallen angel? Are you on crack?
Atheism is a stance on a single concept (the lack of belief in any gods). This does not constitute a religion in any way. A religion is a structure of beliefs and a set of rules all based on stories and legends that people dreamed up.
tylermccail7777777 3 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 Atheism isn't a structure of beliefs?? That's what atheism is, as a profession. It propagates a communal "belief" driven SOLEY by logic & science. No "religiosity" required. <---yes, that's a word. How 'bout .."any object of conscientious regard & pursuit"? Don't you say you have a sense of morality? ..of reason? ..of fairness? --yet life comes from "nothing", as a professed atheist. You're drinking the prime water without first pouring into the Pump, so ALL are refreshed.
microvantastic 3 months ago
@microvantastic man has a part of us called the conscious, or otherwise the soul, without which, you are dead, the end, atheism maybe dead, lot of religions maybe dead, rethink it all into experiments, go ahead, closest ur getting is well "there is this energy and this energy and when they react then this happens" science will only get you this close, PHILOSOPHY IS THE WAY TO GO :D

Is that a non-judgmental, Christ-like way to behave?
tylermccail7777777 3 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 Not angry just asking some questions. The STFU was more or less directed at angry bitter athiests who demean everyone who thinks differently. Sorry if I offended you.

You still did not answer me and my poorly thought out question LOL. What proof do you want? How would someone prove or disprove he/she exists? I am waiting.....

Let's finally move on

SENTIENT(conscieous) ANIMALS PUT A FACE TO NATURAL PHENOMENA - Evolution of 'god' concept.
- All anyone has to do is see an animal react to noise or movement in the woods and watch it assume something is there, something invisible to be wary of. Some unusual invisible force that must be respected and scared of, and how easily this assumption can be extrapolated into an all mighty invisible being at the cause of all things unknown by sentient beings. Belief in god is more proof of evolution.

theists are greatly concerned about the "whys" of things that are not really within the realm of the "why" question .

It is sad how many people dislike another person solely because they are different. Just that simple idea that "you are not like me" or "you don't think like or do things like me" has created so much strife on this world. What's even sadder is how there are people who go out of their way to find a reason to put someone down for who they are.

Read Whitaker Chambers' "Witness."
ryanellis000 7 months ago
@ryanellis000
I have heard theists say that atheists don't have the right to be atheists, that the constitution does NOT grant freedom FROM religion.
tylermccail7777777 7 months ago
@ryanellis000
Yes.
tylermccail7777777 7 months ago
@ryanellis000
Is there any greater chance that Yahweh is real than Allah or ZEUS? Of course not.

@tylermccail7777777 Yahweh actually lived, died, and lived again. Allah & Zeus did not.
MissChikki777 7 months ago
@MissChikki777
No, the STORY says that Yahweh did those things. There is NO evidence that Yahweh ever did anything. Just like there is no evidence that ZEUS or Allah ever did anything. The reason for this is that they are all mythological characters. They are works of fiction.
tylermccail7777777 7 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 There were eyewitness accounts, unlike for Allah & Zeus.
MissChikki777 7 months ago

What eyewitness accounts? The gospels that talk about Jesus weren't even written until decades after his supposed death. They're also inconsistent. Only two of the four gospels that talk about Jesus mention the virgin birth. Matt and Luke write of the virgin birth while Mark and John do not. Now if you were writing down events that ACTUALLY took place, would you leave out the part about a man being born of a virgin? John also fails to mention the resurrection.

@MissChikki777 you have to be trolling, otherwise you are incredibly misinformed. The Qu' ran is exactly the same as the bible as far as eyewitness accounts. There's a whole town in USA that claim to have been terrorised by a leprechaun. Just because crazy people see things doesn't make them true.

@turkeypantz
Just because you're personal interpretation of Christianity, or that of some writer is more liberal and you don't fear questioning the existence of God, that doesn't mean that is how the church is designed. Sure it is more forgiving today than say...in the dark ages, but the really hardcore Christians still fear damnation and become uncomfortable if you ask them to consider the possibility that there is no God.
tylermccail7777777 5 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 It's not liberal. Its the main focal point that Christ died for our sins and conquered death. Belief in that, saves you from damnation. I believe really hardcore Christians get uncomfortable if asked to consider there is no God. Being uncomfortable with the thought should not be interpreted as fear of damnation for that thought. Using the scare tactic of damnation never has a lasting effect, if it works at all.
turkeypantz 5 months ago
@turkeypantz It's not really encouraged in most churches as questions lead to nonconforming idealization and investigations and most religions fear that the most .. they need membership to make their money in part to proselyte . Satan and god keep most Christians from questioning..
11xzxzxz 5 months ago
@11xzxzxz I believe that there are churches that don't encourage questioning God's existence. I can't agree that "most" of them are that way. The questioning is what leads a person to Christianity. Just to be clear, the "questioning" I am talking about may be derived from doubt. But, for me, it comes from objective thinking. However, I DO agree that tylermccail7777777 is not arrogant and is just explaining ideas.
turkeypantz 5 months ago
@turkeypantz i don't really know what the percentage of churches that encourage questioning is I just think they may go through the motions of encouraging doubt but only "small doubt" not real "skepticism". I do know that the vast majority of Christians don't even know the Bible and knowing10% of the Bible and the "nicest passages" is not knowing it. Tell me the 2 or 3 most disturbing things you have found in the bible? And tell me a couple of reasons why there is probably not a god?
11xzxzxz 5 months ago

Also, the old testacles say that parents should stone and kill a child who talks back to them (it's at the parents discretion) , stone and kill those who work on the Sabbath and stone and kill a woman on her freaking wedding night is she is not a virgin..
dID YOU WORK SUNDAY?
