Though I know it is fake because I have watched the Myth Busters episode but it is quite obvious anyway. First: Despite it is a big slide you just wouldn't go that high nor far. Second: There is a place where you can't see the slide or guy and that is where the guy stops and the CGI starts. Third: You can see that the guy - while in the sky - just doesn't look real but is still done very well nethertheless. Fourth: It only shows one camera shot, which also leads to the idea of CGI.

They replicate the circumstances, if it works, great. If not, they modify the experiment until they get the desired result. I do believe that IS science.
