At one point about 5 years ago, our family income was cut in half because of job loss/change. No problem because our house payment is not huge. But then again, I'm conservative. The problem isn't having health insurance, the problem is whether or not the insurance will actually cover the expenses in a time of need. Sometimes it turns out that when you really need health coverage what you need it for isn't included in the package deal. It's not that hard: You don't buy a house that you can't afford. As Americans we want it all. I started small and traded up, it's really pretty simple. At one point about 5 years ago, our family income was cut in half because of job loss/change. No problem because our house payment is not huge. But then again, I'm conservative. I would NEVER think that someone should bail me out.

The problem isn't having health insurance, the problem is whether or not the insurance will actually cover the expenses in a time of need. Sometimes it turns out that when you really need health coverage what you need it for isn't included in the package deal. So instead of just saying yeah we're gonna make health care universal they should really be talking about how they're going to make it so it actually works.
