to those people who are comparing steve vai to yngwie, in alcatrazz, i think they both did great stuff with alcatrazz, but after disturbing the peace, i really didn't care for it
@mickiew4 I am not sure I would characterize it as general 'anti-Americanism'. Rather, just an expression of frustration at how hard it is to crack the US market. Given the overall talent of this band, that is understandable. They should have been much bigger than they ever were. Yet, the best musicians in the world fly completely under the radar. While Vai is a virtuoso, the biggest names in pop music don't hold a candle to artists like Pat Metheny.
funny how all these guitarists need bonnet ? exception mr blackmore ie same era as graham bonnet and knew how good he was ? malmsteen and vai ? havnt had a better vocalist.front man ? he is not the best, but lettin' loose on the vocals ?
i was replying to a previous comment, about how lucky bonnet was to be with all these great guitarists ? blackmore knew of bonnet in the 60's ,that was the exception ! i take your point....i didnt word the comment right ?
Eddie jl. Lets turn that the other way around, Malmsteen was just a guitarplayer who was lucky to play in a band with Graham Bonnet. Remember those days Bonnet had far more Fame&Name then Y. J. Malmsteen. remember it was back in the Eighties, Malmsteen made his fame with Ricing Force, but I am so sure he needed a Great singer too...........Jeff Scott Soto.
4.17 and then up to the solo bonnet and via have it right in the pocket ...fucking awesome!!!

Mr. Graham Bonnet must be lucky, he played with the best guitarist in the world. Starting with Blackmore, Yngwie and Vai.
