Thank you so much Amy for clearing up about dbl thread.
The thing about which end is that the thread has a "wrap" and they say it goes through the fabric easier "apparently" with less chance of twisting/knotting up.
It was on a few "Simply Quilts" episodes and I have found it easier for what hand work I do.
Hi, I noticed you threaded the needle with the end cut at the reel.
For any hand sewing I do, say for my bindings, I always thread the needle from the end that would have been pulled out. But it looked as though you double your thread aswell. I have never Hand Quilted, YET, but, I haven't seen anyone else double their thread.
I haven't been to a class or anything and I am not sure on the General rule here for the Thread, double or not.
I don't double my thread, I just pull the unknotted end through pretty far so that I don't have to pull my arm out so far to get all the thread through. I then shorten this up as I sew.
I have never heard anyone say there was a difference between which end you thread the needle with. I prefer the end I just cut only because I know that end hasn't had a chance to unravel at all yet. The eyes on hand quilting needles are extremely small and I'll take any help I can get on getting them threaded!
The sound is inaudible... even with my hearing aid turned up! Please do something about it as the video looks excellent.
