  • Thanks, we miss you Phil Lynott

    abeldanger(dot)net

  • One of the greatest Rock bands EVER!

  • This is what Rock 'n Roll is all about. Even though this is the short "studio" version, it is still awesome. Love the lead guitar. Love the beat. Love it all!

  • Thats Brian Robertson on a les paul guitar with the perm, original sound huh?

  • is that gary moore on the guitar with the perm? r.i.p. <3 what a legend

  • Currently learning this song on guitar, and the solo is tricky, but fuck what a solo. Can't wait to Nail it.

  • This is soooooo awesome!!!!

  • great song ever wrote by Philip Lynott compleateley cool to listen to.

  • im 44 also me and my friends used to rock out to thin lizzy double live in my 76 vega we bought it at a salvage store surely some place it should have never been

  • The drumming is perfect.Like a bad ass clock

  • Mr Gorham is the best! Who do you guys think did the origin guitar solo `dont belive a word.. Gorham!! The american..

Humble as he is, Mr Gorham, he let the `young hot headed `Robbo` do all the solo. If you look closely you can see Mr Gorham check `robbo out. `Dont make a mistake boy...

  • What band that ever was - is around - or ever will be that compares to Lizzy? Tell me coz I wanna know - I suspect the answer will always be - There isn't one ... U2 has it's charm AC/DC were always about ... Rory Gallagher (Legend) is forgotten - Led Zepplin had their time but Lizzy with Philo at the helm will last forever - I'm 44 and have really searched of late ... I like a lot of different sounds - waterboys (brill) etc but really - Tell me - WHO CAN COMPARE TO THIN LIZZY?

  • @SPAREPARTSCENTRE totally agree with you mate. Listened to this band in the 70s and lucky enough to see them. Guess what? still ruddy got them on in the car now, timeless band. Good comment by the way!

  • Brian robbo Robertson at his very best, with the rest off the band all at the top of their game during this Live and Dangerous tour.Huge fan then, huge fan to this day. if you never saw this band preform live during this time this line up then you probably missed the best live band ever. Philip Lynott driving this band with his gunuis and panache was breath taking. R.I.P Phillip and Gary.

  • one of the best songs ever by Philip Lynott and Thin Lizzy this has got to be one of the top songs preformed by them ever. R.I.P. philip you did well.

  • Comment removed

  • this band did not understand the concept of taking prisoners. they killed all they met.

  • Yes kids, THIS is called MUSIC. Justin Bieber, Lady Gagme, and 90% of the CRAP that is now called music won't be listened to 5 years from now - let alone in 30 years.

  • The Lizzzzz rocks.............

  • basic RockNRoll ThinLizzy and the70ties... today just Wonderful Memories but no one can take them from you....Phil iloveyou..

  • Music the way it was before stupid little Pop tarts and dumb Rappers got given the go ahead!

  • @boltonox Dead right mate, classic rock beats this rap shit and electronic dance crap hands down and you need musical abilty to play it also,

  • @nello100 Its not EVEN music today, just a bunch of sampled music files ripped from REAL musicians and autotune voices from people who can't REALLY sing twangled through a computer. Rappers are the biggest bunch of FAKES on the planet. None of them can perform LIVE!

  • @boltonox you are dead right there buddy

  • Takes me back to when music was good.

  • Mannn, gotta love that tubey toneeeee !!!!!

  • omfg phil why did u had to go?

  • Stezzy ass band

  • This song rips your uterus right out!!!! After hearing it I wanted to rape a beagle and sodomize a woodchuck... Yeahhhhhhhh watch me go..........

  • i love how he keeps the cigarette in his hand when he's doing the solo lol

  • By far and away Ireland's best!

  • greatest love song ever!!!!! RIP Brother Phil!!!!!

  • great guitar player that inspired a hole generation of guitar players

  • First got turned on to Thin Lizzy about 20 years or so ago. Heard L&D featured in HMV and bought it on the spot.

    Still sounds fresh. Kin amazing.

  • Classiest short rock song ever - everything about it is just right. Triffic!

  • Phil Lynott-Bass, Acoustic Guitar, Vocals

    Scott Gorhan- Lead Guitar, Guitar

IS THIN LIZZY... ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS OF ALL TIME

  • @bigwhitebear1

gary moore its a good part of the band too

  • It s just way tooo short.... they could play it for an hour and I'd still listen to every note....LOVE THIS SONG ....

  • @bigwhitebear1

I have to put it on repeat for a while whenever I have it in my system

  • This is probably the best song by this band

  • Damm I miss this guy.

    Only the good die young.

  • Love you forever Phil..sorry I couldn't keep my promise.

  • very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THIS FUCKING BRILLIANT!

  • Phil was playing chess when everyone else was playing checkers. rip

  • Ahead of his time...

  • Only 2.18 seconds!!!!!! Twice as long still wouldn't be long enough.

    Exceptional.

  • My Theme song i think..;-(:) for life...

  • Lol, that's a bit depressing.

  • The two songs you usually hear on consultant-laden, soulless classic-crock radio do not give the full credit and due that should be accorded the great Thin Lizzy. Their song catalog is vast and varied---every song a winner on many levels...rock n' roll and Thin Lizzy can never die.

  • Lizzy is so much more than just the boys are back in town. They don't get the credit they deserve.

  • whata bout cowboy song many people dont know how much of a master piece that song is

    its fucking epic

  • dam right man, they have so many other great songs but this little boz will only let me type 450 letters still not enough!!!

  • SOLO AMAZING *jaw drops*

  • That shit is just so easy if you're Robbo.

    Makes ya sick lol.

That's a gorgeous guitar too. Straight through ally-neck Travis Bean job. Screams like fuck.

  • love brian holding the cigarette in his picking hand on the guitar, the solo is awesome too

  • Anybody know what guitar Robertson was playing there? Gibson Double Cut?

  • i think its Gorem and moore

  • @12groney

    It's a Travis Bean T1000A

Handmade job with an ally neck.

  • @12groney yea its a gibson double cut

  • that's because brian robertson is just that badass. lol

  • love it

guitar rift at 53sec is amazing!!!

  • This is fucking awesome!!!

  • Phil war einer der grössten rock´n roller die es je gab...

  • Is this my boyfriends theme song or what?????

  • thin lizzy kick some serious ass!

  • That solo will murder your ex, chop her up, and pack her in the freezer and keep the cops of your back.

  • only 20?im 11 yrs old and these r one of the greatest, but my favourite band now is the adicts :D

  • im only 20 but these guys so fuckin cool. makes a mockery of todays music.awesome song

  • That solo will rob your house, steal your car & fuck your kid sister.

  • I couldn't have explained it any better.

  • @ShoeiBoy cant believe im actually appraisin this comment, but it definitly needs done lmao

  • @ShoeiBoy In my case my kid brother.sooooooo great!!!

  • too damn right

  • @ShoeiBoy You're a dickhead

  • @lordnewry

Coming from you, that's a compliment. What a fucking state.

  • @ShoeiBoy i think you're a dickhead too

  • @ShoeiBoy wow you're more of a dickhead then i thought... this shoeboy dickheads you tube account has comments up that he has approved... leave a msg and its pending approval.... What a fucking desperate clown you are hahaha

  • @parislanes he must have alot of bad comments posted that he doesn't want others to see

  • @parislanes Well, you're a spamming cunt, so really in no position to be calling anyone else names.

On the dickhead scale that puts you pretty much top of the pile.

  • @ShoeiBoy do you even know what spamming is and if you think you know then show me where i have? youre getting dopier and dopier each time. l'm starting to feel sorry for you

  • @ShoeiBoy dickhead

  • @augiejacs and you're just so original aren't ya. A complete one off. Fucking mong.

  • @ShoeiBoy you still crying coconut

  • @ShoeiBoyl yea i give the vote that youre a dickhead too hehe

  • @ShoeiBoy and this cigarette will smoke ur ass. ;).

  • @ShoeiBoy and you'll be happy about it

  • He did the recorded Sydney Opera House gig and a few others on that tour. After he joined Moore in G Force, but haven't heard of him since

  • Don't forget Mark Nauseef on drums!!

  • Do you mean Brian Downey?

  • No, re my previous post, I meant Mark Nauseef and was responding to an earlier post from someone who had listed all the Lizzy members they could remember and poor ol' Nauseef had been omitted. He was a temp stand in for the mighty Downey

  • he's married to a friend of mine's sister sound bloke down to earth they all were

  • All time classic, Lynott at the peak of his powers. One of the best rock songs ever written.

  • Phillo is such a legend

  • Thin Lizzy = Badass

  • Thin Lizzy were the business.

  • This is so underrated it should recognized as the best

  • i just watched it and i have to say wat a disgrace how dare some one do something like that to phil lynotts hard work

  • screw iris

  • cerkod - what a wanker you are

  • The cigarrete in the hand and the lyrics are so thuggish...I love this song.

The one under me has a nice nick as long as it's not diesel.:-D

  • Best band EVER to be put on this earth. R I P Phil Lynott. Love you. Gary Moore i love you. xxxxxx

  • Fantastic band and fantastic live in the 70s! So many memories - thanks Phil.

  • This is a very original way to perform a love song; it is fast and cool but if you lisen to the lyrics you hear the most beutiful song ever written.

  • AMAZING

  • the true rock ! what a great band ...

  • By far the best Thin Lizzy song imo, and one of the 1st I ever heard. May not be the most famous but defintely the best.

  • For you Simon! Hope you still don't wear those big black framed reading glasses!

  • this is the best version ever done !

  • Brian Robertson is a beast of a guitarist!!!What a diamond

  • My band, Frixshun, loves to rippp this song up! Coming from a female bass player viewpoint, Phil's the man.. Love Gary but, Robbie supersedes What a great band! Sadly missed

  • Such a brilliant band.. Phil Lynott was such a sexy guy and wrote great lyrics. Poetry in motion. I personally prefered Gary Moore to Brian Robertson.

  • i like all about 10 of lizzys guitarists

eric bell, gary moore, scott gorham , robbo, john sykes and so on

  • Are there any more? Not as far as I know, and I know them pretty well. Midge Ure helped them out on a US tour after Gary Moore left due to some argument with Phil, but that should be all. Ah, yes, of course, Snowy White is the one you're missing ...

  • And Dave Flett helped them in Japan

  • full lizzy players list: phil, eric bell, brian downey, gorham, robbo , moore, sykes, wharton, flett, ure - both temp, white, tommy aldridge - temp on 2 tours now perm, dicosmo (now bassist)

huey lewis & Graham parker (L&D tour)

  • Marco Mendoza on bass too.

  • I also forgot Cozy Powell - he helped out on an old grey whistle test session

  • True, and Michael Lee stepped in before Tommy Aldridge.

  • i think between us we got it covered !!!! check our Cat scratch fever cover on you tube. band is called hot for teacher

We do a few Lizzy tunes in our set. They were a class act i saw them 27 times. I went on a Thin Lizzy holiday during the live and dangerous tour. I saw them last year in Bournmouth with Purple and styx. I had resisted seeing them after PL died but my wife bought me ticket .I have to say Sykes has it fairly well covered.

  • 27 times!! You lucky bastard!Unfortunately I never got to see them with Phil as he died before my time.Would have loved to have seen them then. I saw the new Lizzy in Dublin a while back and I thought they were quite good.

  • @Gaz2k07

    Don't forget Snowy ;o)

  • Awesome song with one of the greatest solos of all time imo. Thin Lizzy rock!!!

  • They dare to limit my postings? Gosh, how does some of this other profanity and filth get passed? Anyway, this track is so much better. Cue sound of person relaxing into hot bath. "Mavis, pass the whisky!"

  • This is a great song, often overlooked I think.Have favourited it and listened/watched countless times.Thanks.

  • Robertson's guitar solo on this song is one of rocks all time classics! You can see where slash got his influences. This and jailbreak are awesome.Robertson doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Saw them at liverpool empire 1979 (first ever concert).

    Lost my programme.lol.

  • Thin Lizzy...Long Live Phil!! I loved this line up...Phil with Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson and Brian Downey kicking the shit out of those drums!! One of the best Lizzy songs along with Emerald!!

  • Thin Lizzy were just amazing, I saw them live in 1979 at Manchester Apollo and to this day I havent been to a better concert. Phil Lynott was fabulous and Gary Moore is quite simply one of Britains best guitarists. Forget Eric Clapton, although great Gary Moore rocks!

  • youre heart is just like that promise , meant to be broken

" this is the best verson of the song

  • im trying to figure out the solo from this video, anyone found an exact tab translation, can't find one anywhere, i've nearly got it right. Im also tuned half a step down , seems they do that on a fair few lizzy tracks.

  • long live the king...phill

  • Phillo what a legend

  • In your car, lookin out your apartment window, havin a smoke on the dock!

  • Wow!! I never, never tire of this song, pure genious, short and sweet.

    Thanks for posting Slash.

  • Jesus, Thin Lizzy was always one of my top bands and now it's easy for everyone to see, thanks for posting this Slash. 5-stars in.

  • Fucking great solo!

  • What a tune

  • i always thought garr moore played this solo! similar style i suppose no? love em both!

  • ROBBO = the UNDISPUTED WAH MASTER!!

    Brilliantly executed solo!!

  • Thanks for 2 minutes 18 seconds more of magic you still bring to the world.Love ya Phil

  • Superb song. Lynott deserved more from this world.

  • One of Lizzy's best, and to me Phil's best lyrics. They're so simple, but not cliche.

And that's definitely Robbo's solo. You can always pick the difference: Robbo - more wah, and more kinda insane. Gorham - more melodic. They were the perfect match for dual lead guitarists.

  • thanks I didn't know that.

  • Absolutely correct the PERFECT guitar team ever!!

  • honestly i'd agree too, they've had better lead guys come through, like moore and sykes (sykes is one of my alltime favorites) but none of them complimented gorham like robo. although, sometimes it seems like gary moore encouraged gorham to do more soloing, which I liked.

  • Pure class, nuff said......

  • its men and bands like this that make me proud to say im irish,

    r.i.p. phill

  • anyone that thinks the version with gary moore is better is wrong - oh so wrong....brian robertson is king!!!

  • Hi Gunner, That be a Travis Bean aluminum neck on Robertson... %$#** SMOKIn run anna' cool song!!

  • ah ok, thanks for correcting me, i assumed it was a double cut.

  • double cut les paul ftw!

  • That's the stuff!!!

  • What a Riff from Brian Robertson.Keep on rockin

  • brian robertson=wah pedal master.

  • Great Song!

  • my fave thin lizzy song, I just love it how he says " look im a total bastard But you will love me all the same " Just great. and a cracking guitar sound in the solo

  • I love this song

  • First band I saw live - Glasgow Apollo 1983 - and still the best band I saw live! RIP Phil...

  • where the hell is Gary? :O

  • Gary Moore is on the version from Old Grey whistle teat and it kicks the hell out of this version
