Brava Maria Callas!!!!!!!! Danke Diesis23
Sorry I was not clear in my previous post what I mean is that both live recordings are from la Scala but recorded on different nights the Florence performances were never recorded the "false" goes back decades ago the mistake was commited by an italian private record label from the 50s and never corrected. I know this for a fact because my father was a manager for CETRA all his life. But who cares!!! She is magnificient anyway...keep up your great musical tastes. Adamo
@1777achilles Oh, interesting! I didn't know it...thank you so much for sharing this curiosity. Well, in conclusion I'd say...Florence or Milan, this recording is sublime! Callas, we love you anyway.
Dear Diesis23 my compliments for your choise just wanted to inform you that this performance has always been a mistake, the performances in Florence under Gui'baton were never preserved what you are listening here is the performance at La Scala in Milan still in 1953 under Bernstein's baton only a couple of months later.
@1777achilles I'm sorry but you're wrong. La Scala version directed by Leonard Bernstein is this one: search here on YouTube "Finale Medea Callas 1953 ATRE FURIE VOLATE A ME" posted by youfeda.
I own both editions. According to my personal taste, I prefer Milan's one, especially the final scene...Sooooooo intense. Even if Callas in this role is always exceptional........
Inigualable!!
