  • 0:58 Is that Vladimir Lenin on the right?!

  • Guy on his phone 03:36

  • Paul Rodgers can sing me the phone book.

  • ANNIE RULES !

  • Paul Rodgers also sang in Free

  • Gary Moore is like "I need more monitor!!" and Joe Walsh is like... "Fuck this... I'm just going to stand here and smile."

  • @arwaisquablock bad company

  • 0:24 gilmour liking the riff

  • Comment removed

  • who is the singer

  • Paul Rodgers is the perfect choice for singing a song like this.

Apart from that, jams like this are fun to watch, but musically mostly not very interesting or, more likely, a mess. It's not a matter of the more big names put together, the better the music, I'm afraid.

  • BRIAN MAY BUILT THE RED SPECIAL IN A CAVE WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS. SCREW THE THEME OF THE CONCERT.

  • Amazing Paul Rodgers singing this song, I think he can sing anything and he still has his voice after all these years.

  • Brian May doesn't have a strat?

  • I just caught a glimpse of Joe Walsh. I know who brought the party favors!!!

  • Thanks for uploading this amazing video. Nice to see so many of my favorite guitarist on stage together!

  • Brian may coulve atleast used a strat ....

  • I was there and a drunk Ronnie kinda took over. When he lurches into this number check Pino's puss.Paul Rogers joked 'great key' Ronnie'

    Awesome show regardless.

  • grande gilmour!!!!

  • Ronnie looked like "Aw fuck, how does this song go again?". Good to hear the Faces represented.

  • I love ronnie wood, he is amazing.

  • Brain May (that's the name that came on the credits)? He's very intelligent but his name is Brian! hahaha

  • I would've loved to hear Gilmour and May do a thing together.

  • @ShortFingeredShreder they have but there is no video in youtube to actually so the whole experience.

  • that is some lame ass crowd

  • Ronnie looks and sounds like had few rum and cokes

  • What a shit that they didn't allow Gilmour to come in with the solo. He alone could blast all the stage, with no need of the other pussies.

  • GUITAR! ;-)

  • Ronnie is white boy wasted

  • I knew there had to be some time when Gary Moore and Brian May played together, now I have found it! My two idols together on one stage, brilliant.

  • Don't you love how Paul Rogers is just reading off the teleprompter so obviously?

  • was waitin for gilmour to come in and blow the doors off lol, and where is the strat king clapton.

  • Where's Eric, where' s Ritchie ?

  • el dia que albert lee se peine desaparece el mundo

  • Paul Rodgers = The only singer who can out sing anybodies version, of ANYTHING!! :-)

  • @MrENGLISHBULL They don't call him The Voice for nothing. :)

  • @MrENGLISHBULL he does still have a great voice, no doubt! But how the hell can he not know the lyrics of this song, considering his age and background?

  • Where is clapton and knopfler?

  • Brian Mays the only one not playing a strat.

  • @FatBrianMayFan because he's brian may. so s'all good!

  • @FatBrianMayFan, and thank goodness Brian's not playing a Stratocaster. His Red Special has given us many glorious sounds over the years. Although guitarists have certainly found a wide variety of sounds in the Fender Stratocaster, there's NOTHING like Brian May's guitar sound.

  • Take a look a Pino Palladino's disapproving expression at the beginning of this clip.

He obviously does not think much of Ron Woods playing

  • @Tubbyduff well he started of quiet peculiar ..

  • I cant believe mark knopfler wasnt part of this. he's famous for playing a red fender strat, fender have also produced a mark knopfler strat in their fender artist range.

  • Who are the women at 1:16?

  • What's Brian May doing there? He doesn't even play a Stratocaster! He wanted one, but he couldn't afford so he built his own guitar. And he's playing it here, too.

  • @thewriter1008 Yes he does. "Crazy Little Thing Called Love".

  • @KingScottProductions S'interesting how he's still using the Red Special, though.

  • @thewriter1008 Yeah, I agree. Maybe he broke the Strat or something, then again, it's not like there aren't any spares nearby lol.

  • If this is a Strat celebration, why is Brian May the ONLY ONE NOT playing a strat? WTF Brian, what were you thinking?

  • @jamie61 He doesn't need to play a strat no matter what the occasion. It's Dr Brian May, he can do what ever the fuck he wants

  • they should have dedicated this to the real heroes of the strat like jimi and buddy holly ;)

  • why is may playing he has only ever played one guitar ever and its the one he made

  • Why no Clapton?

  • @KYleS111 As much as I love Clapton, He seems to only do things if the money is right now, he doesn't care as much as he used to.

  • Wow ther'is also PHIL PALMER

  • kinda surprising that Paul Rodgers didn't know all the lyrics, had to keep looking at the paper on the floor, even messed up a couple times. Still a great version!

  • im surprised eric clapton isnt in this given the strat has been his preffered choice of instrument for forty years plus.i guess maybe touring shedule or something like that

  • Guitars+ Andy Fairweather Low

  • lol joe's face when plays he always makes tht face

  • Why isn't Brian May playing a Strat, get him off the stage.

  • @BubblyKidLvsMusic224 He played a strat during his performance earlier in the show, and Get him off the stage ? he's just as good as anyone else up there and in my opinion better than a few.

  • hate to say this, but brian may was spelt as brain may in the credits.

  • @artoflife: A kind of funny and fitting misspelling, considering he seems to be a very intelligent man.

  • hate to say this, but brian may was spelt as brain may in the credits.

  • You gotta believe Jimi was SUPPOSED to be there.

  • @fanofthemusic1090 Would have rocked the house as always.

  • @GilmourTrueHD rip Jimi Hendrix

  • @fanofthemusic1090 I felt it man. As I was watching this video I was feeling the same thing. Jimi AND Stevie should've been there rocking away.

  • @fanofthemusic1090 Jimi and Stevie Ray Vaughan

  • @fanofthemusic1090 not to forget SRV too!!

  • Are you sure Amy Winehouse is playing here ?... I saw Andy Fairweatherlow (at 1' on the right, the fellow with suit, glasses and white strat) but you didn't noticed him. Nevertheless, wonderful channel you've got here, thanks a lot !

  • Out of all the people that could have played sllide, i mean joe walsh was standing right there

  • @CacheSeaker Well, Ronnie co wrote the song and he's a very good slide player too.

  • @CacheSeaker

Yep, Joe's a great slide player, but like someone else said Ronnie co wrote the song. But I still prefer Joe, though his tone was a tad off, but probably to be able to stand out from the 15 guitar players

  • whos the chic with the bass and chinese clothes?

  • @contact1araya I found out recently she is the bass player for Sugarland. I'm not sure of her name but you should be able to find out easily.

  • I miss a wannabe called ERIC CLAPTON!! or Buddy guy. they made some famous stuff with their strats.

  • 2:20 Why's Ronnie Wood doing the solo? Why not Gilmour or Lee?

  • @RogueTrader101 Hang on just adding that on he wrote the song. Great to see May soloing at the end, with Lee, but shame about no Gilmour solo.

  • a competition to decide which one of these old farts can do the least damage to their reputation lol

  • is that red strat the 50th anniversay 1954-2004?

  • TurtleRocker12 Disrespectful? He didn't know the rules meant that he wasn't playing a strat like everyone else on stage. You're preaching to the choir when you talk to me about about Brian May and the whole history behind his guitar. You forget what this was about "Fender Strats" and not the "homemade Fender copy show". It's too bad you read that into the comment but I guess there's a lot of that going on here on YouTube from the posts I've seen.

  • They should put the shredders with the non-shredders like Gary Moore with Albert Lee together and the others separate (kind of like orchestra string sections). It would just provide more cohesiveness to the overall sound. The same can be said for bassists (why didn't they give Tal Wilkenfeld a call, and what were they thinking?) I guess Jeff Beck didn't want to hand her over, plus Fender would have to give her one of their basses. A very good performance, but Brian May didn't know the rules.

  • Let's be respectful i mean

Brian May always wanted a strat when he was younger but could have never afforded one in a million years so he and his dad built the guitar he plays (the red special) but he respected leo fender more than a lot of us could understand so i don't think it makes it any less special he's playing his own guitar .... the one who didn't know the rules was Amy playing three songs ...painful - three more than i wanted to hear

  • Your disclaimer is perfect! I can't think of a better way to keep a video up on youtube when groups like WMG and EMI keep being fuck heads and removing great performances. P.S. I know Amy Winehouse played this show but I don't see her in this performance.

  • EMI is starting to relax a bit ( I think). I had some DCMA's against me when I started the channel, and opened a dialog with EMI with my points of why a fan site does more good than harm for revenues, a bit risky but... They dropped the DCMA's and have since left me alone, which is probably as good as it gets...lol

  • @GilmourTrueHD I would imagine so! Well thanks for your hard work on that front!

  • @neobob187 She performed a couple of songs earlier in the set , I'm not sure you could call it singing, she mumbled the lyrics and looked completely trashed. This was a little before her breakthru.

  • Paul sung this really well!! Its a high chord and (in my opinion) he just smashes it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sure looks like Annie Clements from New Orleans on Fender bass...whoever she is her name wasn't mentioned...I think she tours with some country band these days...Ron Wood was born cool...what a natural...

  • Yep, that's me. Can't believe I was onstage with these guys. I now play bass with the country band Sugarland. The fact that I got to go to London and play with these guys is the sickest ever...

  • That must have been way fun, hanging out backstage with all of them would be the best ever! I apologize your name was not in the video description, it showed up on the video credits, but not on the artist listing for some reason. Been corrected now. Very cool to have you post a comment here!

  • Thanks for posting this! Yes, getting spend several days rehearsing with those guys was one of the experience for the rest of my life. Everyone was so cool. We were all having so much fun. It was awesome!

  • Annie Clements and Theresa are both AWESOME!!! Great to see gals that play like that.. was a bit of a drought in the Brittney Era!

  • @annieclementsmusic haha I always thought that the female bassist was hot :D glad to finally know who you are :) keep on rocking!

    cheers

  • @annieclementsmusic Can you please help me which key this song is written in?

  • @annieclementsmusic Wait so your the bass player at 1:42?

  • @annieclementsmusic - how did you even function standing so close to David Gilmour?????

  • Paul does a great job on this song. When I first heard the audio only I thought it was Rod himself singing it.

  • Brian is the greatest guitarist among the present in the video and Red Special is more sophisticated in shape than Fender

  • check on the chicks!! fender donates strats hahahaaha

red house simply the best part of the show.

  • I know, I was wondering if they tried to take them back after the show... They wouldn't be getting the Strat back from me...lol

  • Мне интересно, почему Брайн Мэй не мог купить себе стратокастер? Он вроде нормально обеспечен... ( I wonder why Brian May can not buy a Stratocaster? He also has money that would get this tool! )

  • what the f**k is Brian May doing here?!?!?!?!

  • good point!

he hasn't even got a stratocaster!

he probably thought he might aswell just pop along...

  • this concert must have been loud...

  • Paul rulezzzzz!

  • Brian May?....Strat tribute?

  • brian may is to cool to play a strat

  • top draw i hope mr rodgers is the front man in the absence of hte master. mr rod stewart. at the royal albert hall on te 25/10/09.

  • They didn't allow Gilmour to play the solo!!! Shame!

  • @Arturdg1bk, they shoulda let joe walsh do it .

  • @Arturdg1bk Yeah, because the song would have gone on for 50 bars once he started, haha ...

  • ...and where#s Jeff ...?

  • @Arturdg1bk I am glad he didn't play it. Its not his kind of song or thing if you ask me

  • what's wrong with the dude with some guitar, clearly not fender, wasn't it a STRAT pack? didn't he get a memo? lol

  • The 'dude' is actually Brian May. Google him.

  • yeah i know the bloke, didn't recongise him though, why isn't he using a fender like the rest of guys?

  • I suppose they allowed him because:

    1) He's Brian May

    2) It's definitely influenced by a strat - 3 single coils, the knobs, the trem. The only thing more flattering then copying something is to make a tribute to it, I guess.

  • Rozq87, you don't know who Brian May is?? Where have you been. Also, that "some guitar" is one of the most famous guitars in world. Google "red special" and you shall be enlightend.....

  • Ron Wood rocks. That's all i gotta say.

  • He`s the worst on stage...hahaha

  • That he does. Ronnie co-wrote the song with Rod Stewart and Faces. Looks like he may be the only one who actually knows the song...lol

Still, a great clip to have so many great guitar players and so many Strats all going at once on the same stage!

  • Brian May shoulda played a Strat! What a smacked ass!!
