  • Awesome.

  • Have you tried "Sprang" hand weaving? It's similar to what you're doing in the video, and it's beautiful. There are a few videos on youtube if you're interested.

  • I enjoyed your video very much. Just started thinking about some crafting again. You are the coolest young lady. I can't imagine what you could do w/loom!

And I love this style of music too-and I am 50!

  • You might be dangerous if somebody got you a loom!

  • You should sell them on etsy.

  • hey look im 10 year old can you slow it down next time and show me how to tie the knot and finish.nice show .

  • yay .hack, best game ever. good show to

  • this is kind of the same as i did and i hate how you can have so much patience to do the same thing over and over again and very nice color

  • @sephiroth87932 Try having the patience to do it on a real big loom, like 5 feet tall and wide, I would give this girl my old rigid heddle loom if she wanted it!

  • cool, I weave also

    abel

  • I went looking for way to make a very nice and inexpensive mats, You do have a purpose in life, I don't go out either (OPP)Your mat making skills are excellent. I just loved your whole debut and inexpensive material list, very nice. Your really good at making the mats. Thanks. Hope to see you do more of the same with color if you wish girl are better at colormatching than boys or you can show onliners similar things like knitting, basket weaving:) step by step and other crafts.

  • Ah, I wish you had a camera with better resolution - but what I could see looked great. Amazing - with just a bit of cardboard, some yarn and a pair of scissors. You're very resourceful. I'd love to see what you do with a backstrap loom (also on youtube) It's just a bit of card (you cut alternating holes and slots for the warp) a small stick, a handy doorknob and some yarn.

  • i wish i could do it that fast lmao. but nice job. nice shirt also :P

  • Cool. Looks like you did an excellent job weaving the yarn. I can't weave or sew at all. :)

  • Do you tie the 2 ends (the ones you weave through) under the card board or smothing or just leave them hanging?

  • i cut those off and just tie them in with all the others on the sides. i'm not to sure what to do other then that heh.

  • that looks awesome! u do good work:),do u ever sell the stuff u make?

  • yes, your hands ARE fast!!! Absolutely lovely result of such low-tech creativity.

I hope you have taken advice below....finding a local weavers and spinners guild. Wish I had when I was younger, would not have wasted so many years without support, encouragement, validation, acceptance and appreciation of craft of imagination.

    You have a gift.

  • i remember doing this in elementary school (4th or 5th grade as well lol) and now that i've gotten more into sewing and crocheting (and possibly knitting if i learn it) i was wondering if you could sort of send me instructions on how you do that, i'd really like to relearn this skill and i can't find anything on the internet on how to do it so i'd love the help! thank you!

  • wow!!!, good work!!!.

    congratulations!!!.

  • Know what you should do with the scraps of yarn you cut from the finished piece? I like to save them, you know, the finished piece looks like a pillow, so i guess you should stuff it with the scraps and sew it together.

  • Thats a good idea :)

  • If you like to sew as well, you might like sandwiching the scraps between 2 layers of mesh and dissolve-able film, stitched on top. Check out the book "Stitch, dissolve, distort: with machine embroidery" by Valerie Campbell-Harding & Maggie Grey

I definitely enjoyed this video. I loved the speed, but I wonder how long it actually took you to get that done. Great Job!

And great music. Do you like Oomph?

  • you must have a lot of patience...wanna lend me some? :p

    neways, good job :)

  • Woh, Wolfsheim, haven't heard one of their songs in a videos until now. And it's even one of their few German songs! Künstliche Welten is just awesome.

Nice work with that blanket. I'm so clumsy with my hands, all they can do is type fast ^^

  • I have a odd taste in music :) no ones really heard of the stuff i like. Have a good day heh

  • HI Bishi4me, I've tried to find this *excellent* music on iTunes, but the song that's posted under the title you credit for Wolfsheim is different. Could you please check the title for us?

  • There are many fiber arts to explore with your desire, energy and commitment. It's healthy to share your life with others. To laugh and cry and experience life outside.

I encourage you to search out friends who share the love of fiber arts! They are often very independent

and intelligent and find themselves solo like you. Best wishes from an american mom of 8 in france.

  • I think you'd really love weaving on a real loom. You should look for a group of weavers to hang out with...a guild in your area if one exists. Weavers are very supportive and not competitive with one another. You might enjoy learning to spin fibers as well.

  • hey i weave too, but im not as good as you =^.^=

  • yes, go weezer! their old stuff was great. not sure what the second band was, but sounds good

  • aah, if only i waited until the end

  • I so enjoyed watching you, you are quite talented. The world needs great fiber artists! Keep up the patient and good work! I bet you could make purses from these!

  • after 40 years weaving. 1) bend board slightly to make weaving easier. 2)Put paper clips on each alternative thread and a thin rod through the clips. This will give every second insertion as a straight through by lifting the rod and the clips can help in beating up the weft.

    Keep at it, good fun.

  • Thank you for the tips, i will do that next time (:

  • You should weave blankets and sell them on eBay :D It'd only take you a little while, I'm sure.

  • I was actually thinking about doing that the other day, i might (:

  • Awsome stuff, Amanda :)

    I'm sure you'll do well.

  • looks cool. I do craft stuff to keep me occupied. I quite fancy the idea of having a go at this x~hide~x

  • Looks like your hands & fingers got some exercise. Thumps up!!
