i wonder how many times kiefer had to kiss rebecca? those were my favourite scenes thanks! its too bad de winter was short lived through out the movie!
I actually bought this movie because it had Kiefer Sutherland in it (I'm a huge fan). I ended up loving the movie but was especially fascinated by the romance between Sabine and Athos and was bummed that there weren't too many scenes between them. Thank you sooooo much for posting this, I've already added it to my favorites. I love all my musketeers in their roles (Charlie, Oliver, & Kiefer) but especially the Athos character which Kiefer plays PERFECTLY!!
@cherrybloss98 depend son what version and what writer she was both a heartless bitch villian and a more human villian in certain versions of the tale.
thats sooo sad. I know she was evil, but I don't think you are bornevil. life make syou like that. ANyway, I like her in this movie. Its sooo sad, but a least she didn't let them ill her.
what a sad story Athos & Sabine feel sorry 4 him . She killed herself but he still loved her. It's the best version about the 3 musketeers ever! nice post 5*
Thats just foul. He lets his friends murder her because of politics, and she forgives him? Betrays her side for him? I never got that. I would tell them all to jump off the cliff, loving ex-hubby first. Oh well, it was a different time, and Milady deWinter was an inspiration for all women to come.
Actually, she was executed because she killed the Cout DeWinter, and when Athos asked to be forgiven, it wasn't in reference to the CURRENT case, it was to the story that Athos regails to D'Artagnan in the beginning of the clip.
By the way, have you ever read the book? Apparently not, because then you'd know that she was a true villainess through and through. She is painted much more sympathetically in this version because, well, it's Disney LOL.
Yes, Milady De Winter, if anything, sets women back thousands of years. She was first a prostitute that seduced a man of the cloth out of the church. She ends up abandoning him for Athos (Comte de la Fere) who falls in love with her. When he finds the Fleur De Lise (branding for thieves and prostitutes) he is shamed by her treachery and thinks he succeeds in killing her. She then goes on to marry Lord de Winter's brother and kills him for his money.
She murders the Duke of Buckingham and for no apparent reason other than pride, kills D'Artagnan's love, Bonacieux with a poison that makes the person suffer much before dying. And I'm just mentioning the main characters she killed, she also killed a couple other people in failed attempts to kill the above mentioned.
She ends up being beheaded by an executioner in front of all the musketeers. Her son, however, ends up killing the king of england (among others) in the sequel.
I like the portrayal of her in this one. Way more than the novels and older movies. Mostly because it gives another dimension to Athos. Who was always my favorite Musketeer. Here it shows that he really loved her and she loved him back. They just led very different lives. Instead of making her pure evil.
She's a nasty bit of work. They couldn't really portray her as such in the film because its not politically correct to portray women as being nasty through and through. The older films are a little more accurate when it comes to her portrayal.
I'd try the 1973/1974 movies with Oliver Reed and Christopher Lee. They're the two parts of the book. I haven't actually seen the second part, but the first part is extremely accurate, from what I can tell, so I'm assuming the same is true of the second.
This is the most perfect video! I love that you included all the scenes between Kiefer and Rebecca. And the scene at the begining...oooo I could listen to Kiefer Sutherland talk alllll day! His voice is so awesome. Thanks so much for posting this :-)

Credit goes to Rebecca DeMornay and Kiefer Sutherland. Shame these two never appeared together on screen again. They have very good chemistry.
Rebecca would have been great on 24.

@coldlynx they worked together again in a movie called the right temptation!

Are the older films accurate when it comes to Athos? Because I'd love to watch one that's true to Athos' story. Any recommendations?
