  • Marue20519 this is the series finale movie

  • How did Laura and Almanzo have such a nice house? I didn't know they made that much money.

  • @coPurple11ok Laura inherited the house from a childless elderly woman in an earlier episode called "May I Have This Dance".

  • @TheFashionlover4ever indeed :)

  • So James Karen (Lassiter) was responsible for ending Little House on the Prairie. Who've thought that several years later he'd be responsible for those damn canisters leaking in that medical supply warehouse? (Return of The Living Dead)

  • I have watched this show since I was 4 years old! I have loved it for many many many years! I have always loved watching Michal Landon's acting! This show is truely timeless! I hated to see them blow it up esp. the bording house! There will sadly never be a show like this one! I will always love Walnut Grove! R.I.P. Michal Landon and Victor French! Michal Landon really knew what he was doing when he made this! I don't care what anyone said about him! He was a true family man!!! We love you Mike

  • 11:03 Kevin Baker (Doc Baker) has said in past interviews that he couldn't speak for all the other actors who were involved in the emotional final blow-up scenes, he himself thought it was an inappropriate way to end the series. He believed that realistically, the strong and kind townspeople of Walnut Grove wouldn't be so ridiculous as to destroy their homes and livelihoods just so other people could not make use of them.

  • When the series started dwindleling down in the last season, Melissa felt she was ready to move on, have her boyfriend, and hang out with friends. But when she was approached about the official series finale, she was immediately upset and thought, "I'm not ready for this!" Her character's emotion in the final scene wasn't all acting, since she herself was so devastated about leaving the series behind.

  • When the scene reached its highly emotional end, Michael left Melissa with some very important words: "This isn't the end for you, This is just the beginning." Lindsey Kennedy (Jeb Carter-season 9) has said he overheard this as Michael said it to her, these words have remained with Melissa and Lindsey to this very day..

  • I remember this very well, and I never miss any part of the shows. I grow up with the young Melissa's. I had tears.

  • I'm sad that they would do this.

  • This is silly! why blow it up! it could have all ended happily! and then when they yelled cut they could have blown it up!

  • You creep

  • Shannon Dougherty 3:24

  • I'm sorry, why did they have to blow it all up?

I haven't seen the part before this.

  • @dyn7g Because Michael Landon didn´t wanted, that other people the set gonna yoused for other things :)

  • @dyn7g ... At the end of the series, Micheal Landon did not want anyone to use the set (the Town) in any other move or series, since he owns the rights to the show he decided to do this, kinda crazy but a perfect way to close out Little House and to not see the set in any other shows.

  • Basically Landon threw a huge hissy fit of rage, and was determined the network wouldn't get their hands on the set because they cancelled the show and never told him properly. So he arranged to get the whole thing blown up. If you look carefully you can see they weren't even proper houses, just facades and a lot of plywood supports. Also there was a lot of stupid music in the background just like all Landon's stuff. Very lame!

  • Seeing Nels' face when he pushes the thing makes me cry

  • Goes to show that we can all get along depite religion, status, race, etc..that is all this show has ever taught me. Friendship!

  • Goes to show you that you can never go home again.

  • @charangoguy yes you can, because home goes with you.. and that was the lesson of the story. No matter where you go you take all of them with you.

  • what's with the bunnies???!?!? :S

  • @Haniwa91 the carter boys breeded them

  • I'd have done the same.. take away what is mine... I destroy it:)

  • What an ending to a great series. It stinks. Blowing up the town?! Why don't everyone just die after that, too, to make it a little more rediculous!

  • and the most awesome thing ! is....most of the times no background music during the explosions...where do you get that these days...

  • Even fucking Al Qaieda infultrate Walnut Grove

  • Gets me eveery time :(

I think that the emotion some of the actors show here are also real not played, since the town theyve been filming on for so many years gets destroyed. I know i would cry

  • what about all the property taxes they had paid?

  • @matthewmdd well i reckon the man who bought the land didn't care

  • i miss Adam And Mary on it they were a Piece of little house on the prairie to!

  • would have like it fif they had other little house characters on here such as mary, adam, harriet ect.

  • This is just sad!

  • The moral of the story work hard and do the right thing your whole life and still get fucked by the system.

  • @fogt1430 exactlly

  • @fogt1430 that hasn't changed. But I would destroy all I own rather then hand it over.

  • I was shocked as a kid to see this blowing up....because i did not understand the main reason (was a kid)

  • @klaasjan111 Because it was a rented area through out the entire series. It was in the contract, once it was over they were going to have to put the area back in its original state. But it was also said at the last minute the network may had wanted to keep it, but Michael Landon decided against it and didn't want the set to be used again. From what I heard, he was very upset how the network went about cancelling the program and didn't even bother to tell him to his face (like most of them do).

  • I like that they let Willie blow up the restaurant. It really show how much his character grew from a wimpy, bully to a strong and responsible man.

  • i hate this part of the church too emotional for me i cry everytime

  • I cried through the whole thing walnut grove always seemed to be part of me :(

  • @janajelly I know! I cry everytime too! :(

  • ya when Dabbs Geer. (Rev. Alden) cries, I cry, everytime! :O(

  • it makes me so sad when Dabbs Geer walks through the town when all houses are destroyed...
