vw camper complimation

Okay, enough with the romance already.  I owned a 63 camper. Three engines, three transmissions, two sets of reduction gears, had to crab in every crosswind, noisy, ultimately slow, hard riding. It stopped running within one hour of driving it off the lot.. Every hill a major obstacle. Probably would have been great with a V8 Chevy driveline. The bed wasn't half bad. Even with regular valve adjustment it still blew up late one night on Interstate 5, then again in the marina in SFO. Arrgh!

I want one. I will be driving in less than a year as i am 16 and i just don't want a saxo, or a clio, i want one of these. Wish i had the cash for one. So much cooler. I'm the kind of kid who would have fit in perfectly in the 60s or 70s though, when music was good. I just have the perfect image of camping out by a like in summer with a VW splitscreen parked up, a 6 string acoustic and not a care in the world.

omg that is me too i cant wait to get one but first i need a job im gonna be 16 this year so i need to save up.i can just picture it driveing down to the beach,camping with my friends with my guitar and not careing about anything.

@tommart123 Wow, that sounds JUST like me. And thats exatly how i feel. I will soon be driving too and my Dad already promised me that i will get one of these. lol. But yeah, Im not a total hippie (YET) only cuz a hippie isnt complete with out one of these! I feel like i would of fit in, in the 60's sooooo much. lol. You sound like me! lol. thx.
