The tempo is too slow, the drums sound awful and the piece just is not played right. If this is all that comes out of a senior class, no wonder music in the US is dead.
A worthy attempt. I am curious as to the grade he received for this performance. It is always a rare treat to hear and watch ANY performance of adapted Frank Zappa compositions in a given setting only due to the rarity of such. I am begging the University here where I live to have its Music Department play Frank Zappa compositions as part of their recitals, only because, in my humble opinion, Frank Zappa is one of the greatest musicians and composers of the 20th century.
It's even slower than on the "Weasels ripped my flesh" album. At that speed most peaple cant understang what the melody actualy is. That's the paradox of it :)
Very interesting. At that speed, it's almost as though the song is being deconstructed part by part to my hearing. I can still make out the melody of the song, well just. Perhaps they could have used some additional rehearsal time?
Booooooooo! You Suck!

lacks the joyous spirit of the original....played like a dirge....
but at least they recognize Zappa as a unique musician......even tho he was a major music thief.....

I also dug the conductor part of this piece halfway through it. Looks very muck like what Frank Zappa did during his concerts.
