  • @groovyhovvy: I agree with birthsongdoula.  "I am not afraid" doesn't really qualify as an affirmation, but a negation or denial . The fact that you didn't happen to tear is really beside the point.

    FYI my daughter is now 2 months old and i did not tear or require stitches.

    i guess my subconscious mind does NOT follow the rules. hehe.

  • Good Affirmations, but if you're a hypnobirth practitioner you should know that the subconscious mind does not hear the word "not" and will be unable to understand affirmations with that word correctly. The statements " I am not afraid of delivering my child" and I do not tear or require stitches" will be understood as the opposite by the subconscious mind (ie. I am afraid of delivering my child & I do tear or require stitches). You may want to revise those two statements ;)
