  • 2:24 LOVE IT!!! haha wow I would like to be a part of animation mentor! I wanna learn and be one of them animazing animators!

  • Animation mentor = over-acting.

I guess they think over acting translate into good character animation

  • Well, you can give me a thumbs down i don't mind. go on. over-react

  • they just animate in the north american style, which strives for a lot of exageration in order to look funny. there are many many other animation styles out there to discover

  • Im sorry, that was a reply for MDF103

  • dude thanks for saying that. personally i am sick of this style, Animation Mentor. Yes, certain clips are great but most of them the acting is so all out: no matter how exaggerated> the acting gets to be all over the place in certain clips.

I am not hating on Animation Mentor, i am just expressing my tastes. lets just pray that people get to see other animation styles, variety is good.

  • dude its 'students' work... AMs got disney-pixar style so its obvious the students will have similar style...besides it takes geniuses to develop a good style....

  • Totally amazing work there!

  • obviously these students understand the principles of animation... can't say all AM students are perfect but this show Reel is quite strong.

  • spaghettios with meat.

  • cool!

  • too bad that glenn keane will not do more 2D animation.

  • This all looks FANTASTIC! Looking forward to joining you guys this Autumn.

  • as in after 2 months?

  • AAAAAAAAAWESOME.

    NICE WORK THERE.

  • Frikking AMAZING!!! :]

i wonder if all of the students finish the course with work like that, or that only very few reach this level of emotions expressing... :\

  • good question.

  • thanx, buddy. i still think there is something that seperates the very few talented ones [that will get a job], than the ones that animation will only stay as a hobby for them...

  • i like to think i'm both :)

    it shouldn't be impossible...

  • what do u do then?

i dunno, but i guess the difference between the ACE ones to the O.K animators is ..time. i mean,i guess the great ones, started Animating since they were,like.. 7!! :\

    p.s-ive subscribed to u, buddy :]

  • lol i go to AM and the progress of the quality of the work for the majority of the students is just insanely impressive..all AM asks from the students is to put the time and effort into it and it will guarantee a successful future in the industry...theres no doubt AM is the best animation school on the planet :)...ROCK ON AM:)

  • nice to hear! i wish i had the money for AM.

can u really work while u study at AM? lol.. u need to shut yourself inside the room 24\7 to practice well! :]

p.s-it was really weird for me to think that the best animation school is an online one. but now im 110% sure its true! :]

  • btw; i believe the true difference between the ace and ok ones is spirit ;)

PS: thanx for the subscribtion :)

  • kool :) u know i applied a month ago? but i wasn't selected :(

i was told to retry after 90 days. truth be told, i'd rlly like to aplly for the next class start from now :?

  • 7? well it wouldn't hurt to start early i agree, but jhon lester (pixar's big guy) never animated before the end of his high school years, unless i'm mistaken.

i started learning animation last year (i was 17) not 3d tho, that's why i'm lookin forward to animation mentor.

  • One of the great 2D animators of our time, Glen Keane, who is now directing one of Disney's up and coming 3D feature films, had absolutely no intention of animating when he applied to CalArts. He applied as a painting major, but they mixed up his application and he got accepted into their animation program by accident. He fell in love with it quickly, and went on to Disney right after school. He has since been the lead animator for Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan in Tarzan, Pocahontas etc.

  • Brilliant work everyone! This really shows off how affective AM really is. Keep it up! :)
