they just animate in the north american style, which strives for a lot of exageration in order to look funny. there are many many other animation styles out there to discover
dude thanks for saying that. personally i am sick of this style, Animation Mentor. Yes, certain clips are great but most of them the acting is so all out: no matter how exaggerated> the acting gets to be all over the place in certain clips.
I am not hating on Animation Mentor, i am just expressing my tastes. lets just pray that people get to see other animation styles, variety is good.
dude its 'students' work... AMs got disney-pixar style so its obvious the students will have similar style...besides it takes geniuses to develop a good style....
thanx, buddy. i still think there is something that seperates the very few talented ones [that will get a job], than the ones that animation will only stay as a hobby for them...
i dunno, but i guess the difference between the ACE ones to the O.K animators is ..time. i mean,i guess the great ones, started Animating since they were,like.. 7!! :\
lol i go to AM and the progress of the quality of the work for the majority of the students is just insanely impressive..all AM asks from the students is to put the time and effort into it and it will guarantee a successful future in the industry...theres no doubt AM is the best animation school on the planet :)...ROCK ON AM:)
7? well it wouldn't hurt to start early i agree, but jhon lester (pixar's big guy) never animated before the end of his high school years, unless i'm mistaken.
i started learning animation last year (i was 17) not 3d tho, that's why i'm lookin forward to animation mentor.
One of the great 2D animators of our time, Glen Keane, who is now directing one of Disney's up and coming 3D feature films, had absolutely no intention of animating when he applied to CalArts. He applied as a painting major, but they mixed up his application and he got accepted into their animation program by accident. He fell in love with it quickly, and went on to Disney right after school. He has since been the lead animator for Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Tarzan in Tarzan, Pocahontas etc.
yeah, i'm in! starting end of june. my mood right now: 2:22
