@zyber9 I know. I was pointing out the flaw of having to have to keep up with a smaller figure. It's like having an Armada Optimus and losing Over-Run. The fact that losing the smaller figure was a rather scathing flaw with the Powermaster and Headmaster Transformers.
My cousin gave me his transformers when i was like 4. It wasn't until years later that a friend clued me in that Hi-Q was supposed to go IN prime's chest. I'd been transforming him back and forth for years! Dunno if it was me or my cousin that broke the gimmick, but i've never been able to get the little guy to actualy stick in prime's chest...
Shoot son I figured out a way to transform PMOP without the little PM figure.
There's a little button that you just push and hold down inside his chest and it releases the lock on his joints. Then you can transform him without much trouble. Jeeze I figured that out when I was 12.
That's the gimmick for Powermasters - a latch holds part of the vehicle mode that needs to move in place and when you insert the Powermaster engine the latch is pushed out of the way. If you know where the part of the latch the figurine pushes is, you can push it with your hand and transform the robot without the Powermaster. I did that with my Joyride a long time ago after I lost Hotwire.
The Powermaster toyline was based on the Japanese 'Masterforce' animated series, which never aired in English. The toy we called Powermaster Optimus Prime was actually a mindless robot body (called a 'Transtector') in the form of a semi truck modeled after the original Prime. The truck could only transform when it combined with a Power Master, actually a human named Ginrai inside a special robotic suit, who would pilot the Optimus Transtector like a mecha.
Aww shit son; I've just been pwned by Mr. insecurity himself, who, apparently, just sprouted balls. Funny how you can suddenly feel free to talk shit w/out the consequences of interacting w/me face-2-face. It must be liberating to escape the fear of a beatdown, And you can guarantee I'd be in your face with this, if blessed w/the chance of your company. Besides, u like TF; u ain't exactly all, billy dee-motherfuckin'-williams with the ladies and shit. There'd be a lesson here4U, but ur 2 dense.
daaaaaam fool, callin me insecure, im not the one leavin teh big ass grammatical comment to some apparent "no ballz" kid from the internet who u dont even know, just cuz he wrote some comment. maybe if u were teh bigger man ud ignor the comment, Yadidamean? SucK it bItch!
I swear as a kid, I could only transform him into god jinrai (super mode) I think 3 times. I spent all of christmas day 4 yrs. old surrounding by 'Prime. I'd pretend that NO ONE COULD STOP ME with prime laying down cover fire from his super base. I remember being in the shopping cart @ T'R'Us w/my mom when I saw that giant box lower into the cart. I rate that moment up there w/my first A+, 1343 SAT and my first time getting laid.
yeah the nebulon formed the engine for the powermasters that when placed in the Transformer, pressed down a few small plastic pressure points, allowing you to transform it.
My favorites were the Targetmasters, transforming weapons is a pretty cool idea.
well in the masterforce if i recall its not prime because prime died in the headmasters but in the america show it just ended with the headmasters but ya prime does have to have the little guy but see the one i have it broke and well i can transform it with out the little guy and i lost the trailer and well all i have is him in standard mode
But what if you lose the Nebulon?! D:

Wow, depriving Optimus of his pacemaker. That's harsh. :)

Ha, ha! I never thought of it that way, but yes, that is pretty much depriving him of his pacemaker. That's a good one.

wait. Is optimus still alive and can only transform with a power master? or is optimus like a suit?

Optimus can only Transform when his Nebulon becomes his engine? That wasn't the case in the comics.
Still, thanks for uploading this. Powermaster Optimus rocks!
