  • eowyn's like, "im so hot for you right now."

  • Why can i understand half of what he's saying? Like... Literally, understand, not just because i read what's written.

  • @taurbeer Because you're a wizard.

  • Can someone do this to my schizo cat please?

  • Cameron,

Just like Sherlock Holmes said, fast women and slow ponies are a bad combination...but you have neither you shameful fuck...

    Clink...

  • It's Elf Magic Hu!!

  • But for someone to truly understand the wisdom about a horse and a war you have to look for the deeper and more powerful wisdom that was written long before you started to anchor your kind down...

Don't be to eager to deal out death and judgment for the very wise can not see all ends...

I heart tells me the pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many...all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us right Barack...

    For good or ill Hu...

  • Hildago!

  • In the none extended version this scene is cut out... so when Brego comes to Aragorn's aid it seems like Aaragorn is saved by some random horse...

  • @siridavidsen which is why it should of been kept in tbh otherwise you have no idea

  • Where is my hero Legolas?

  • Nice to know Brego is his horse now :D they both become great friends

  • @yemanyaaa didn't he say in the video to set the horse free?

  • @ematj I mean in real life, he buys the horse

  • @yemanyaaa Really?! Awesome!

  • @yemanyaaa he saves aragorns life

  • Translation:

See that girl over there? I'll make you eat her stew if you don't settle down.

  • Bloody handsome bastard...

  • ..These movie folks don't seem to realise that the people of Rohan saw their horses as brothers/sisters.

  • isnt this one of the Mearas languange?

  • Aragorn is just awesome. He can heal, talk to horses, survive a fall off a cliff, convince ghosts to fight for him :)

  • @soulskyela after that we asks : who da fuck is chuck norris?

  • i dont understand how they could cut this scene when in the film he gets saved by brego without even meeting him

  • Later that evening, Kingly was awarded his discharge papers for time served.

  • magic? he´s drunk !!

  • Translate- Calm down! Or you will eat some stew!! :D

  • Aragorn gets the horse calmed down... and all of a sudden Eowyn appears behind him. Haha, the look on his face. "Gawd, I can't get away from that annoying chick! No matter where I go!"

  • Hey hey hey....you settle down or I'll make you INTO my stew...thats right >;P

  • Aragorn's horse is different in the book, btw. His name is Roheryn, and he's brought to Aragorn by the rangers (Halbarad, etc.) whose chieftain he is.

  • Two things for those who wonder: Aragorn has a drop of elvish blood in his veins as heritage, and he's grown in Rivendell by Elrond. :) Plenty of reasons why he could do this.

  • @Elainiwen Aragorn has the blood of maia in his veins. He is related to Melian maia, and of course the elves too

  • @InfernumThe Yes, that too.

  • Just like him in Hidalgo :D

  • aragorn the horse therapist. horses mental disorder: PTSD(post traumatic stress disorder)

  • Aragorn says in this video:

Fast, be quiet now, fast, be quiet now. A battle is stirred up, they heard.

What is your name?'Hm? What is your name?

    Brego? Your name is kingly.

What troubles you, Brego? What did you see?

  • anybody know what the clip at the very end that gets cut off is??

  • Aragorn, Horse Whisperer.

  • I could spend all day watching cutscenes...

  • You need to be calm, and assertive.

  • I would like to point out to those argueing over language that much of elvish speach is based on Finnish, which Tolkien was particularly interested in.

  • Brego. <3 What beautiful horses were cast in these films... the Andalusians that played Shadowfax and carried the Elves in their trek to the Grey Havens, the Friesians that were the steeds of the Nine, and all the other beautiful creatures that took soldiers to war.

  • @CyraUK Actually the horses of the nine were different breeds. Trust me, I was on a message board with some of the horse owners. At least one of them was a thoroughbred.

  • @rsjfan ... You really missed the point of my post, didn't you?

  • @CyraUK Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. I just keep hearing different things from different people. Sorry. :/

  • @CyraUK Actually the horses of the nine were different breeds. Trust me, I was on a message board with some of the horse owners. At least one of them was a thoroughbred.

  • It's a mix of different Germanic languages as far as I know.

  • So freaking sexy and amazing!

  • Viggo is like the only actor in the movie who knew how to actually handle a horse. Those other guys were jerking on his face, I'd be throwing my head up too. Viggo buys all the horses he works with. He bought TJ, his main horse in Hidalgo and he bought this horse too.

  • @Emilmossing Oh ok

  • he's speaking danish

  • I'd calm down too if Viggo Mortenson was whispering to me and dragging me to him by the end of a rope. ;) P.S. It's Elvish he's speaking - not danish or norwegian or any other scandinavian language we recognize today.

  • IT IS NONE OF THE SKANDINAVIAN LANGUISHES

  • @TheBumbleBunny

Tolkin made evlish out of mixing allot of diffrent languages, and danish was one of them he did use to make elvish, hence some of it might sound like danish.

  • sounds like danish but it isen't. I know that beacause norway is Denmarks neighbour. Almost the same languish

  • "Turn this fellow free. He has seen enough." ... love that quote :-) !

  • "The hands of a king are the hands of a healer." :) Aragorn = teh awesome

  • Brego sounds too much like Prego.

    Anyone have pasta?

  • In any case it was Brego who rescued Aragorn from the stream later on when he fell off the cliff. Apparently the horse somehow remembered this soothing gesture of comfort. and the person who gave it. All the horses in the films were so beautiful.

  • This is not elf language. It is believed that some horse of Lohan can understand elf language...that's what Aragon do.

  • @jyeh0429 maybe it is norwegian or danish or whatever, but it's supposed to be elfish xD eowyn is saying that

  • @VampirecatAmy hey i am from denmark and its not dansish or norwegian it its elfish

  • Its not elf magic, he's speaking to it in old english, change the title.

  • what da wonderful creature that horse

  • I just named my colt brego. Thanks for the vid now I will have a better way to explain where I got the name from. Thanks.

  • Damn, Aragorn is extremely sexy in this scene :D

  • can anyone tell me what elven language he is speaking?

  • @Danie9989 Rivendel.......i'd say Sindarin but idrk

  • my dog is named after the horse of aragorn:$ hihi!

    xoxo

  • Aragorn is so awesome- he really does love horses in real life- he was in Hidalgo which was a horse movie and e worked extra time with the horses

  • I FINALLY UNDERSTAND WHERE BREGO CAME FROM!!! I was so confused while watching the shorter version of the movie (can't convince my parents to buy the extended edition), because Aragorn is lying on a beach and this random horse came up to him and for some odd reason Aragorn knows his name, but he came from no where. Honestly, bad editing job by those guys who shortened the movie.

  • The quickest way to get laid is be good with horses. There's something about chicks and horses

  • @Theriot6592

    Generalized much? lmao

  • Behold the Dr. Dolittle of Middle Earth

  • @tzepesh20 V.g. The Twilight saga actors

  • Lol, he tells the horse to be set free and then you see a horse going through Isangard.

"Fuck, that horse got there quicker than we did!"

  • @SkyJW15 ahahahahahahahahahahaa

  • LOL i love that name Brego... I named my Yellow Lab that!

  • Funny they made Brego angry when in the book it's Shadowfax that cannot be controlled.

    Meh, good scene anyway!

  • beautiful scene :)

  • LoL, the Horse Lords cannot control a horse....

  • @fridun007 ironic isn't it lol

"we are the lords of naval war"

"but we don't have any boats"

  • ok, so shouldnt it really be Legolas that calms the horse.. it seems a little unfair that Aragorn always does everything 'Magical'

  • @Falaffull It is not "magical", he just talked to the horse. There is no magic in know some language.

  • WHAT was that at the end?? I never saw that sene before!

Damn i need to get the extended cuts of ttt and trotk!

  • imagine going to your school high school hockey game and seeing viggo there!! lol cause thats what happened to me on saturday lol :)

  • I know none of these amateur Lord of the rings fans will know this. But if someone who is comes along and reads this comment, What type of elvish is Aragorn speaking?

  • @exodiaj

I think it would be Quenya, since he's from Rivendell.

  • its Quenya

  • i don't know about the middle and last parts, but in the beginning i think he's saying "Stille. Stille nå," which is danish for "Quiet, quiet down now." Seeing as Viggo Mortensen is part danish and is fluent in the language, he probably wanted to add something to his dunedain character, not just the influence of elven culture and language.

  • @Darkpaint84 Not to be mean or anything but it's spelled nu, not nå :)

And if he is speaking danish, his accent sure is affected by living outside of Denmark, unless he is trying to mask it as elvish? <.<

  • @Darkpaint84: Actually, if you search for the dialogue online, Aragorn is speaking the language of Rohan, which sadly isnt subtitled.

This is what he says: Fæste, stille nú, fæste, stille nú. Lac is drefed, gefrægon. Hwæt nemnað ðe? Brego? Ðin nama is cynglic.

He then switches to Sindarin: Man le trasta, Brego. Man cenich?

    Hope I've helped. :)

  • @Darkpaint84 Tolkien apparantely adapted the elvish languages from Finnish (of which he spoke fluently) so its entirely possible to notice similarities between Elvish and real-life European dialects, particularly ones from the same linguistic roots. Your theory about Viggo may well be correct.

  • @MeganO266 also from the Celtic language he was very fond of the Kalevala which is sung a little in school and saved from the passage of time as the Rune-singers disappear it's rlly sad actually makes me cry at the astounding number of languages dieing today :(

  • @Darkpaint84

Absolutely right. As a Swede, that´s exactly what I heard too. And didn´t he also say "Haeste" in the beginning? Or just "Haste"?

  • @Khwaab yeah, I think it sounds like he's speaking some kind of scandinavian. in the beginning i think he says "stille nå" but then, it doesn't have to be swedish, it could be norwegian or swedish too ;)

  • @MissAdda

Yup....but I know it´s definitely not Swedish cause we would say "Stilla nu" or "Lugn nu" instead of "Stille nå". I know Viggo´s Danish so he might have been encouraged to throw in some Danish but it sounds like Norwegian to me. Anyway, it really doesn´t matter that much....I just think it´s nice if they allowed him to speak some Danish in the movies. Like a little hint to all the Scandis out there, ha ha, cool!

  • @Khwaab Actually, at first, Aragorn is speaking Rohirric, which is essentially old English. That's why Eowyn understands when he is asking the horse his name. "Man le trasta, Brego?" is when he starts speaking Elvish.

  • Sindarin, which is Quenya, i believe?

  • no he lives now in capvincient, new york i see him at the town grocery store all the time really nice guy he dresses funny sometimes though lol :) he is up here where his parents live taking care of them and his dad since his mom died :(

  • cool. sorry about his parents though

  • thats fuckign awesome man, i would kill to see someone from the lord of the rings, but like its weird, coz legolas (orlando bloom) broke his back a year or some before he was in the first lord of the rings, so if he had done it later, there would of been different legolas, and also at the end of the second film, the bit where sam almost drowns in the river and frodo saves him, sam actually cut his foot on something in the river and he spent 2 weeks or so in hospital

  • doesn`t Viggo mortensen live in denmark:P?

  • nope he lives in the US now, although you are correct that he is originally from Denmark, and I presume still has family there.

  • Horses? huh?

  • Its relly odd when you put it together and realise that Arwen is somewhat of a great-great-aunt to Aragorn. Poor chap.

  • damn . thats right

  • how? Aragorn isnt a elf

  • he was raised in Rivendell by Elrond, spent a lot of time in Lorien with Arwen, and was with Elrond's sons quite a bit also.

  • @Hrafnsmerki1

He was raised in Rivendell and learned a lot from the Elfs, including their language.

  • @Hrafnsmerki1 he also decends from an ancestor who was part elve.

  • at first i thought he said to horse..'your name is kinky' LMAO

  • Translation: You listen to me or eat her stew, choose!

    ;D

  • LOL!!!

  • @livkivi this would have made more sense if it was after the stew scene lmao

  • no anythingnew he is to busy doing more important thing then killing beautiful creatures like deer

  • viggo lives only 20 minutes away from where i live in upstate new york he takes care of his father you see him at grocery stores and everything he even goes to the same dump as us lol i am not kidding he is really nice

  • Do he hunt deer?

  • this must be taken from the taming of Bucefalos by Alexandros

  • Weird to think that Elrond is his uncle :/

Look it up in the silmarrilion then u will see that Elrond and Aragorns greatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreat grandfather is his brother.

  • Aragorn later asks Gandalf for his horse. Gandalf refuses coz he has the "King of Horses" and smirks at Aragorn's horse, for having a Kingly name, but without actually being a king. Aragorn is hurt, but then Gandalf explains that his horse wud only ride with him coz he had freed it once upon a time. Aragorn ignores him.

I'm glad they cut this scene as well. It only made the LOTR franchise look cheap.

  • Aragorn is a great ranger.. Great hero and father...

  • but is subject to death

  • @Bloopers92 Is he your father???

  • my horse could do with a bit of elven magic, she's raving mad at times... but I love her so damn much anyway.

  • i <3 aragorn

  • Comment removed

  • Aragorn -the horse whisperer:-)

  • Aragon come from denmark!

  • It's his father that comes from denmark...

  • please, not Aragorn...Viggo:) but it's hard to believe he isn't Aragorn for real...

  • horse is amazing, Viggo even more amazing :0)

  • I didn't remember Aragorn have elfish background

    (forgive my poor english)

  • He was raised in the house of Elrond...

  • All of his ancestors are decendants of a couple of marriages between Elves and Men.

  • that is an incredibly well trained horse. from being ablet o be "out of control" to obedient.

  • Wow. That's amazing. Why did they ever cut that out in the non-extended edition? ^.^

  • Wow!

I love the way Aragorn speaks Sindarin!

Must have take me years to memorize that! :DD

  • jsnsj :( :)

  • oh god this woman is in love with Aragorn(I don't know her name):P

  • must have taken forever to make that horse act right :P

  • in the scene's and after it , aragorn bought this horse , and he trained on it to do his thing, rolling aragorn after he fell off the cliff at the horse vs orcs on , i forgot its name

    i saw it before

he even bought Arwen's horse for the one that took care of that horse

  • brego was the second king of rohan and he finished the palace of meduseld

  • I wish I could handle my horse that good! When I try that he always steps on my toes. Ouch! X-X

  • Brego's mourning Theodred.

  • i agree. he misses his 'master'

  • That horse is a pretty good actor ;)

  • @truefakeness no they just found a crazy horse and shot it full of tranquilizers in the ass at the right moment.

  • @truefakeness

    Yes, it's true. :D

  • soo thats the horse that came and got aragorn after he fell of the cliff makes sense the horse came to his friends aid very nice

  • I love the line "your name is kingly" because it's true; one of the earlier kings of Rohan was named "Brego". XD

  • Of course Aragorn knows Brego is a kingly name because he's 87 lol....I love this scene by the way

  • eowyn is more beautiful

  • brego is a beautiful horse. but not as pretty as mine!!! haha!

  • my horse is way better!!! (i bet yours is too)

  • The Mearas are the best!

  • i love it how in real life at the end Viggo brought the horse for real

cause he loved it so much

as all the horses went on auction

he even brought one for awens stuntwoman from the fellowship as she couldnt afford him and she really wnated him so viggo got the horse for her

    hes such a caring man

  • he also owns the horse from hidalgo

  • my lord..that horse is half mad..there is nothing u can do? LOL??

  • Viggo Mortenssen's voice is very calming, soothing.

  • nast its in the back of return of the king book in the appendix it tells everything

  • Eeeer...its just a horse.....

  • Did Tolkien ever write the beginning of the love story between Aragorn and Arwen? Also of Aragorn's childhood? If ot, he should have and if yes, where can i get it? :)

  • You can read about Aragorn's youth in the Appendix of Return of the King. It details his youth as well as his relationship with Arwen after the War of the Ring and their final years together in Gondor.

  • Viggo was the most accomplished horseman in the whole film. Aragorn learned from the elves how to gentle an animal. Legolas rode his horse without saddle or bridle in the book.

  • What's verry cool is that Viggo Kept Ueanus after the film making he got so in love with it

  • Viggo Mortenssen love very much horses.

  • Who is the guy leaving at 1:46?

  • loubo2, that is a very good point...

  • response to loubo2 its grima he isnt leaving hes riding towards the center of isengard to see saraman

  • I love this scene even more because Viggo Mortensen is good with horses and you see that. I mean, in some movies the actors look the horse directly in the eye and start to pet their head.

Everyone who knows a little of horses knows that's not how you get a horse calm

    (sorry for my English)

  • actauly most of the actors do try and read the books it is a well known fact that people like Viggo montenson and Liv Tyler read the books, to get a better understanding of their characters.

  • Elvish sounds so beautiful though I have no idea what he says.

  • great scene
