To all people saying "Help I can't beat this guy" do this; make all characters dragoons, kill enough baddies to equip them all with the best stuff you can (20k a character just on weapons btw), put them all in the back and jump constantly, if your high 20's you will win in a couple tries, make sure to fight enough random battles to take care of crystal sickness though, if you have that down arrow do random battles in tower till its gone on all, makes a HUGE diffrence.

Garuda just keeps owning me with lightning. How many times do you need to use jump? I've been using the castle in what I think is the south east to level up and get enough money for wind lances.

He's just ridiculously OP. I have one level 30 and three level 29 dragoons. How much should I level them up by so that I don't get completely pwned by him using lightning twice?

I beat him with 4 Dragoons at lvl 27. Not too hard but I would love to see a video of someone not prepared to fight him. LOL going in with like a Bard, Monk, Geomancer team with a thief thrown in for added noobness.

I had no problem with this guy at all. Beat him on my first try.

Luneth as Dragoon, Arc as White Mage, Refia as Black Mage, Ingus as Evoker.

I forgot the level I was at, but it was somewhere around 30.

I'm trying 3 Dragoons, plus I changed my White Mage to a Knight, so that I can use Defend if he hits my allies and so that he also has great defense and use of Cure. Makes sense to me (too bad he can't use Aero - that would be a little helpful)

they all jumped in the air, the boss 1 turned my warrior XD

then they all come back down and 1 turned him LMAO

I really hope this is enough! i'm gonna go collect the gear and give it a shot :P

Garuda war der einfachste Boss, den ich je begegnet bin ... Hatte mit dem Mönch (Level 32, Berufsstufe 78) 'Rache' gemacht. Garuda griff den Mönchen zwei mal an. Durch Rache habe ich 2x6.000 Schaden gemacht =)

Garuda was the easiest boss I ever seen. I had maked 'revenge (?)' with my monk. Garuda attacked him 2x. With revenge my monk had maked 2x6.000 damage =) (sorry for my bad englisch but I'm 13 years old and german ^^)

This boss was hard! I wanted everyone to survive the fight. Now that was a challenge! I had four Dragoons all at level 30 with a job level of at least 10. I had everyone jump and hope that Garuda didn't use Lightning. Luneth always landed first, and Garuda attacked him as soon as he did. He could survive 2 physical hits, but if he got hit with Lightning, he would die. I've heard rumors of some Japanese people who can beat this with level 20 Freelancers. Now THAT is skill!

I HATE THIS BOSS!!!!!!!!! I mean come on!!!! I beat the last boss in one turn!!! This boss OWNED me in two turns ( I had a scholar who survived the first turn with high magic defense but still had 1 HP LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)!!!

This boss is MADE for Dragoons. Think about it, someone in Saronia says that spears are effective against flying enemies. Beforehand, you get a bunch of Dragoon gear..

yeah bu in the DS version hes stll tuff, in stead of the way he was on the Nes version, he fire lighting at random. and usualy in the nes version you could kill him simple. but i dont know if it can work, If u guys know a stratagey feel free to tell me.

Very annoying boss. I lost several times but after leveling up a bit and reworking my strategy I beat him in a couple of turns.

Four Dragoons aren't needed. I had one dragoon equipped with 2 wind spears and did 5000+ damage with Jump.

Just have a white mage in your party to heal every turn and have all your characters at level 31.

For anyone interested my team consisted of

Arc (black mage) lv. 51

i hate how gigameth is a HUMAN and should be the same size as the character plus with mini if your in a cave the enemies are 4x4 bigger than you and its like a 1cm by 1 cm cave!!! I JUST HATE HOW GIGAMTH CHANGES INTO A MONSTER >.>

Actually it is mentioned by the guards that Gigameth is Garuda, they said that his shadow was a monster so he's not actually human at all it's a disguise. And I know what you mean about the mini dungeons but you shouldn't really look THAT much into it haha.

Yup, I know it's stupid to level a scholar to level 80 but I didn't regret it even though he lacked hit points forever. The key thing that I used to beat Garuda was to use Jump+Item Lore. My scholar and Dragoon were dealing 15000+ collective damage every turn.

Hmm... I beat Garuda in one turn. Mostly because I freaked out and incorrectly heard that you had to steal Gugnir from Garuda so I ended up grinding and getting my Warrior to go to a Job Level 71Thief... And raising everyone's jobs in the process. All of them were level 30 but the the Job Levels were insane... ( Damage x 10,000 xD; )

they may be the most effective when it comes to damage, but some enemies are walled when it comes to physical attacks and it is also the fact that dragoons will probably die when an enemy casts a spell on them because of their low mag. def.

the only downpart is that you should have a healer or else potions can get pretty expensive. like when you are grinding to get money for good armor the potions you have to buy will slow down the progress a bit.

Dancergal633, first go east of duster island(which is in the middle of the map). Keep going until you reach the desert on the eastern continent go north and you'll see some small mountains. Go over them and go through the litle maze of mountains and eventually you'll fond it.

I was going well until Luneth died being the noble hero and saving Ingus. Then the geomancer and white mage got their asses kicked by lightning. Then Arc came in (Dragoon) and then boom. KO.

Shame he gets all the EXP. (I'm not complaining though. Dragoons kick ass.)

Either you:

a) Steal from Rust Birds in Dragon Peak. I'm not sure if other monsters have them.

b) Use the item duplication cheat (I don't advise this, it's risky.)

c) Save them. If you're getting owned by a boss (like, 3 people dead), level up rather than waste P.Downs.

umm..for not playing this boss for awhile I would just recommend you to get some job levels and main levels, then try again, if that doesn't work, just level up some more I guess. :S

Well, at first that was my original plan, but for some reason the Dark Knight was not living that long after the battle started. So I made Ingus a Dragoon to inflict extra damage.
