This appears to be Paul singing live along with the recording. He's singing along with his own vocal track. Which is exactly what he (and the Beatles) did when they performed Hey Jude on the David Frost Show in 1968. I found this odd, because Paul did this song on his 1989-90 world tour (it opened the show). Must be because of television production requirements.
@beatlesfan1975 no, in fact different musicians played on the recording than are playing live- Paul just always sounds the same he dosn't use fancy technology to make records sound good- just pure skill and talent
paul had to pay elvis costello for this forgettable track..i heard him sing this in concert and its one of those songs that does not go down well "live"...
and paul's voice sounds very thin when he sings this song in concert..he doesnt anymore...
and the drummer in this clip..he sucked ...played like a fucking metrinome....no dynamic to his playing like a machine...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Is this of Friday's "Wogan"? It's that type of screwy weird time xx Just before Chris Evans etc. Just before Friday's sitcom of the week///That weird time just before/after A Question of Sport....
It's actually NOT a mullett, thank God. I have the same hairstyle, it's a shag. I specifically told the haircutter not to give me a mullett. The mulletts have short hair around, above and behind the ears.
It's a very 'Beatles' song if you listen to the harmonies, the harrison-esque guitar lines and the 'get back' line. Like you say though, a little too 'up/catchy' for the Beatles.
It does LOOK lip synced though. TV shows were/are often Lip Synced when a decent sound isn't possible on the set, not because of lack of talent. We all know that McCartney is capable of a great live performance.
He is singing, at least part of this, live, but it's along with the instrumental track and the vocal track from the record. At no point do you hear solely Paul live.
Love this one. I love thew changed Paul goes through with each decade or time frame.
Love the bass in this tune and I agree that this drummer rocks. He has a nice edge. Each one brings something different I guess. Love the drummer who played on "Silly Love Songs" too.
On the opening part it sounds like he's doing a live vocal (not entirely successfully) along with the taped vocal. But during the meat of the song it appears he's just lipsyncing.

This isn't a live performance!
This is really a playback.
Things like this, are a trick and a lie.
The TRUE performances are ONLY the TRUE lives performances.
Even I can play at this way...

@ElPayasete Yeah, the only thing live is Paul's voice, he's singing along to a recording and everyone else is faking it

@horsesei I think the Paul's voice is too a playback:
Look the tone and the volume. It not change along the performance, however Paul is near the mic sometimes, far other times...
All is playback. All is FAKE...
