  • He's the Greatest!

  • Beautiful song !!! Love it !!!

  • He's not singing

  • nice to see a younger wix

  • "live" me bollocks

  • Only the beginning is live... the rest is playback... cheap trick!!!

  • Miss you Linda!

  • shit.

  • Great tune but there is nothing"live"about the audio portion of this video.

Also, give Elvis Costello some credit on this one..just saying . Peace

  • Ah, back when he used LEATHER for his strap. Maybe a leather belt and shoes as well!

  • It's not live. It's the studio version on playback. Sorry, but it's just Paul's mic that's turned on.

  • I love the sound of this song, and also his hair style.

  • I dont think a single person on earth has ever been able to pull off a mullet... Except Paul McCartney :)

  • @HelterSkelter60 darn my daughter is a hair addresser...i wanted a new style...i think she gave me a mullet!!!!

  • @HelterSkelter60

    And Pat Sharp lol

  • Didn't know it was a Beatles song.

  • @heartofzorro its not a beatles song its paul's song

  • @beatleluva4eva Its a Paul AND Elvis song

  • i forgot how much i liked wings/paul mccartney

  • This isn't a live performance!

    This is really a playback.

Things like this, are a trick and a lie.

The TRUE performances are ONLY the TRUE lives performances.

Even I can play at this way...

  • @ElPayasete Yeah, the only thing live is Paul's voice, he's singing along to a recording and everyone else is faking it

  • Comment removed

  • @horsesei I think the Paul's voice is too a playback:

Look the tone and the volume. It not change along the performance, however Paul is near the mic sometimes, far other times...

All is playback. All is FAKE...

  • If you Pause it a :24 when his head is turned it looked like he is crying....

  • @JustKdot96 Rather sweating from the damn hot lights above him...

  • Gosh He was a cutie.... ;)+

  • grandissimo paul!!! grazie di esistere!!!

  • Yeah, this is the studio version with a bit of Paul live. May have been necessary in 1965, but not in this day and age.

  • This appears to be Paul singing live along with the recording. He's singing along with his own vocal track. Which is exactly what he (and the Beatles) did when they performed Hey Jude on the David Frost Show in 1968. I found this odd, because Paul did this song on his 1989-90 world tour (it opened the show). Must be because of television production requirements.

  • @MegaObserver1 I thought Paul opened his '89-90 world tour with "Figure of Eight"

  • @August8th1969 He did.

  • It's only live for the first 10 seconds. During the song it's lipsyncing. :(

  • Happy Birthday!!!!!!

  • songs mostly sound different when played live... this sounds EXACTLY like the song on the record. lip sync much?

  • @beatlesfan1975 no, in fact different musicians played on the recording than are playing live- Paul just always sounds the same he dosn't use fancy technology to make records sound good- just pure skill and talent

  • For some strange reason this song reminds me of a theme song for a random eighties sitcom spin-off

  • @gtz1975 Perfect Strangers?

  • paul had to pay elvis costello for this forgettable track..i heard him sing this in concert and its one of those songs that does not go down well "live"...

and paul's voice sounds very thin when he sings this song in concert..he doesnt anymore...

and the drummer in this clip..he sucked ...played like a fucking metrinome....no dynamic to his playing like a machine...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Paul's not singing or playing the bass "live". Damn, I had such hope for this clip. It's still a cool time piece I guess though.

  • they're playing to a backing-track of the CD track. wtf.

  • its nice to look back and see linda acting like she knows how to play the keyboards

  • playback??

  • @aliaksandrrojas Big time

  • Is this of Friday's "Wogan"? It's that type of screwy weird time xx Just before Chris Evans etc. Just before Friday's sitcom of the week///That weird time just before/after A Question of Sport....

  • sorry there miming

  • The girls in the audience know how to dance but the guys are horrible! Paul is wonderful, as usual. :)

  • play back!!! but great......love you paul

  • Linda had Ziggy Stardust Hairdo.

  • these lyrics meant a lot more after linda died.

  • i would give so much just 2 see him perform live damn his talent is amazing all the way paul mccartney

  • I HAVE seen a picture of Paul with a real mullet, and it's not pretty.

  • It's actually NOT a mullett, thank God. I have the same hairstyle, it's a shag. I specifically told the haircutter not to give me a mullett. The mulletts have short hair around, above and behind the ears.

  • I can't decide which is sweeter.....the dance moves in the audience, or Paul's mullet?

  • paul's the only person in the world who could pull off the mullet

  • I love the line up he had for any band he was in lol ...Rock on forever Paul

  • 'Live' ..as in 'mimed'

  • yeah, Paul's making fun of the whole thing... I love how he pops in at 1:45 just to give the sick bastards behind the camera one more smile ;)

  • Does not get better than this for me!!!!!

  • Very 'semi' live if you ask me. Still a fantastic song.

  • i MISS YOU PAUL! arggggg! Nice job jacenty841 as usual.

  • I can't frigging believe this was almost 20 years ago.

  • OH MY GOD - this man.....words escape me.

  • You can tell Elvis Costello wrote the bridge.

  • Yep, very perceptive of you. They were collaborating at that point in time.

  • Its a Beatle song the only thing missing is John George and Ringo. Imagine if they recorded it .

  • The song isn't that great. There are nice parts, but

    for me it's too catchy.

  • God fogive he should do a 'forgetful' song

    ffs

  • Too catchy is a bad thing? I dunno, the songs I have a problem with are the ones that aren't catchy

  • It's a very 'Beatles' song if you listen to the harmonies, the harrison-esque guitar lines and the 'get back' line. Like you say though, a little too 'up/catchy' for the Beatles.

  • The first line of the verse sounds very optimistic.

    Like it.

  • @tenorismo I agree, this song with John, George and Ringo would be another classic by The Beatles.

  • @WiltatKansas Agreed 100% . The first time I heard this song , I thought the same thing.

  • Great vid my friend♪

  • Ah...Paul's best period. I love the lineup for the band.

  • Great video. Good song also.

  • this is music

  • i like pauls harrison guitar

  • That's his famous Hofner bass.

George did'nt play one of those dude.

  • What|?

  • Very nice 12-string work.

  • 1:43-1:45 classic!

  • Great song and band!

  • one of my favorets from that album flowers in the dirt

  • I might be wrong but is this one of his last great songs? I know that he will be around along time. Just asking.

  • can u say LIVE--this is tallent not current BS

  • It does LOOK lip synced though. TV shows were/are often Lip Synced when a decent sound isn't possible on the set, not because of lack of talent. We all know that McCartney is capable of a great live performance.

  • He is singing, at least part of this, live, but it's along with the instrumental track and the vocal track from the record. At no point do you hear solely Paul live.

  • El que aparece en 1:24-1:28 es el de Catupecu Machu??? Estás iguaaaaaaaaaaaal!!!!!! jajajaj

  • 1/40 i can tshpell....

  • paul mc eric morcambe moment at 2

    .40 xx

  • Rockin song, and when Linda said she would leave him, discuss...

  • his band were good during this period but they weren't very cool!

  • well, the guy at the keyboards (Paul "Wix" Wickens) is still with him today

  • My ONLY brave face right now is for my daughter....I'm not backing down...HELP! HER!

    Sir!

  • Paul's using his 1963 Beatle bass. He sure got a lot of mileage out of that instrument.

  • It's nice to look back and see Linda on the keyboard.

  • Love this one. I love thew changed Paul goes through with each decade or time frame.

Love the bass in this tune and I agree that this drummer rocks. He has a nice edge. Each one brings something different I guess. Love the drummer who played on "Silly Love Songs" too.

    Mybandaid

  • Chris Whitten is my favorite Paul McCartney drummer!

  • Yeah, he is awesome!

  • Mine as well!

After Ringo and Macca himself, of course...

  • kefacchiauada kuliuo

    che faccia da culo

  • lip synch or not

    Paul still rocks

  • His mike is live so he's been picked up now and again! This was an amazing live band but that's tv for ya....

  • the poor chap has needed it this past week

  • This is one of Paul's most beautiful songs!

I love this song so much!

  • can somebody tell me wot the name of the keyboardist is? i had no clue he's been playing with sir paul for so long

  • His name is Wix

  • "He was told to lip=synch it for the show."

You don't tell Sir Paul what to do. He's perfectly capable of pulling an Ashley Simpson whenever he bloody well feels like.

  • On the opening part it sounds like he's doing a live vocal (not entirely successfully) along with the taped vocal. But during the meat of the song it appears he's just lipsyncing.

  • He was told to lip=synch it for the show.

Any moron knows Paul can sing it perfectly perfect live if that's what he's supposed to do.

  • live my ass

  • Sounds like the original track... Hmm...

  • keep rockin macca your a one off man

  • Seems like Paul is singing over the lyrics...but still it's a good song!
