  • you really brightened up my day.

  • It's an old minstrel song from the Civil War era. Foghorn Leghorn sang it all the time when he was in a good mood!

  • EVERY DAY my 2 year old son asks to see and listen to this video. He says "Doo-Dah! Doo-Dah!" when he asks. And then I play it and he starts dancing.

  • @threehappypenguins Thank you for that…

  • @Pippomero Thank you for your generous words…

  • Make an album. I'll buy it.

  • In Iceland this got turned into a Christmas song NÚ ER GUNNA Á NÝJU SKÓNUM. Nú er Gunna á nýju skónum, nú eru að koma jól. Siggi er á síðum buxum, Solla á bláum kjól. Solla á bláum kjól. Solla á bláum kjól Siggi er á síðum buxum, Solla á bláum kjól.

    Nice job.

    Tom

  • this is lovely. i wish you were my grandpa.

  • Makes me smile...I'm trying to learn this to play for my son. If you don't mind me asking, what strum pattern are you using? Could you describe your exact thumb motion/tempo? I Love it! Thanks!

  • Like you I've looked at the video and I can't really see what I am doing and I don't have any method that I can describe other than that I only use my thumb and I sometimes brush up as well as down across the strings, but mostly it is a down brush. You just have to feel the rhythm of the song through your thumb.

    Good luck!
