I went to tokyo toys in london and a few other stores that sell anime stuff, not even one of them sells tatsunoko items and they never even heard of them till I just mentioned tatsunoko, karas, gatchaman and yatterman.

IMO, watching something on the internet is the same as watching it on tv. Subscribe to cable/ satellite, subscribe to internet, i see a connection here. And just like watching a tv series, if i really like it i buy the dvds. For that which is out-of-print and no longer available from the company that makes it, watching the archives that someone has generously posted helps to preserve a piece of television history for future generations. Fansubs are no different than VHS Copies and give shows that never had a chance in the West like Hokuto no Ken a Chance to be seen.

Fansubs don't hurt anyone. most people will upgrade to the DVDs if a show is released as well if the Extras make it worth it.

Nah I don't think adult swim would take it. Williams street has been rather picky about there anime line up and I don't see it improving, but I do agree that they should come out with a subbed DVD. If that sells well then they should make a dub, but I guess that all depends. Weather the dub will be good or not depends too. We can only hope for the best.

"Weeaboo" is an extremely stupid term which people should stop using, and Naruto in general is trash, but I will say that it had a good English dub. Shocking that such a thing is possible with writing as poor as Kishimoto's.

But if you honestly think "believe it" is why the dub is bad, then you didn't give it a fair chance. They stopped using that so much. Most of the pronunciation issues were fixed too.

I think I explain the origin of Tatsunoko vs Capcom:

Tatsunoko (in the 70s and 80s) was the most popular anime company in Japan. Now Pierrot (founded in 1979 by former employees of Tatsunoko Production) and Toei are more popular because Shonen Sunday and Shonen Jump trust in those anime companies for make the anime's adaptations of Sunday and Jump's mangas. With this videogame (Tatsunoko vs Capcom), Tatsunoko wants to recover the popularity that it lost long time ago.

I'd say the original is better.Seen the Polish voice-over of the Italian dub (Partially screwed pretty badly but back then we didn't have anything better) a long time ago. I discovered the original intro a few days ago and I must say imho it's way better than the Italian one and light years better than this. More lively happier and the style of drawing is much more pleasant to the eye. That's just my opinion dunno if anyone else agrees

I do like the original opening the best. However there are actually a ton of different Yatterman 2008 openings. I've seen at least 5 official ones just on YouTube. Seems like they change it every 10 eps or so.

Well imho the first 1977 Japanese opening music feels faster with it's 70's climate and use of more instruments. It brings a certain degree of liveliness to the intro this one lacks in my opinion. As for the Italian version I must say it's still livelier than this but it just doesn't really fit Yatterman it has to much of a children's song feel even for a comedy like Yatterman. This is caused by the belief in Europe back when Yatterman aired, that anime is generally for kids.

Go Nagai managed to get away with hermaphrodite rape, graphic hermaphrodite slaughter (complete with somewhat detailed dong chopping), cannibalism and dog-on-amputee rape in Violence Jack. Which was a SHONEN manga.

As for the visual aspects. It is purely my opinion but this feels just overcoloured, bright and CG to the point it hurts my eyes. The 1977 version on the other hand was lovely and colourful, while not overly bright and eyestraining. It also had the specific charm of hand drawn lines. If there's anything else yo'd like me to elaborate more please feel free to ask :D

The old one wasn't a very good example of quality cell animation, in fact it was pretty choppily done

The frame by frame animation in this is really well done despite clearly being done in Flash, and in the tweened KAWAII ^_^ bits they were clearly going for a paper cutout style

In Japanese kid shows/anime, there are some jokes that they can get away with, but not in American kid shows
