Not to disrespect you or anyone else. But more then likely any pictures where their faces are shown are not true special forces. If the government wouldn't even acknowledge Delta force do you think they'd let them take personal photos on an active op and then let them return home and risk said pictures going public? Id say 90% of any photos you find aren't the elite groups, or they are so old they have been declassified by now.

Never quit. i am working on trying to get a 68w option 40. not signing without. Good luck bro. if you get the shot never quit.

Delta Force, Green Beret, Navy SEALs and Army Rangers tap the best and the brightest of those from the basic forces (mostly army, but marines and navy occasionally), and the CIA supposedly recruits SAD/SOG from the best of these special forces, mostly Delta Force to my knowledge. Just to be considered for training into Delta Force for example, you must pass several IQ and competency tests, have two years or more left to serve, and (I believe) be a corporal+

The german translation from "Tier" to english is "animal" ... does it have smth to do with that kind of meaning oder what is the meaning of "Tier"? I know "Tier 1" is undercover or so called "black mission"... I´m just interested why its called like that.

@yamaharossi The term "Tier" as it pertains to a "Tier 1" operator or a "Tier 1" target identifies the "authority" (president, SOD, SOA, ect) or "exclusiveness" (USSOCOM, ect.) in which it's missions are tasked, carried out, and why their execution is necessary (footprint, force multiplier, ect.). Tier 1. Tier 2, Tier 3 in the military/government application identitifies their level of secrecy, priority, and mission specifics. Kinda the same way a "Tier 1" computer network is exclusive.

@yamaharossi The actual origin of the word "tier" is unknown. However, the word is always used in reference to "one in a series". The military is full of acronyms such as the one you mentioned. Since the English language is comprised of words from many other languages sometimes a "literal" translation of a word is hard. The English language is so complex there are many words that are just exclusive to the language and no other origin exists, the word just simply identifies what it is.

Every picture is either CIA, or Tier 1. Just like the title says. The plain clothed operators holding AK-47s were CIA and the one on the left, is Mike Spann who was killed during a prison break in Afghanistan. The rest of the plain clothed operators were either Delta, DEVGRU, or CIA SAD. NONE of the pictures are of Private contractors.

Most SAD operators cone from tier 1 a few are from tier 2. But they don't recruit from tier 3. So sorry princess force recon can't join SAD. Only A.C.E, DEVGRU, the Airforce 24th Special Tactics Squad and sometimes SEALs and Green Berets. But not Force Recon or Rangers, which are Tier 3.

@USAForLife2057 The recruit/selection process as I recall it. Special Activities Division usually recruits from CAG and DEVGRU. CAG recruits from wherever they need to accomplish the mission. CAG operators were those prior recommended for selection or requested to go to selection for previously operating with CAG (i.e. Rangers, Green Berets, Seals, ect.) DEVGRU (ST6) must have already served so many years on a team before you get picked up for selection. GB must volunteer, pass selection, and QC

Seals recruit/select much like US Special Forces. You must meet pre-requisites, volunteer, pass selection, and be accepted and pass their qualification course. I don't know that many Seals and I've never cared to ask them.

SAD has always been a more intelligence driven outfit (obviously because they are CIA). SAD is not specifically a Tier 1 unit like CAG or DEVGRU but they operate along the same lines.

Tier 1 operators are more specific in their mission but more versed in their trade. CAG and DEVGRU conduct more direct action missions such as raids, recon, hostage rescue, ect. Force Recon are good guys, they work a lot with Seals and SF. CAG and DEVGRU have been known to recruit from their ranks, especially their snipers.

@wolfpackoperator Right your point being that Tier 1 operators have a wider range of responsibility then Tier 2 and 3. Therefore it only makes sense to only recruit from them or Tier 2. Force Recon is only Tier 3 so I doubt many of them get recruited for SAD if any at all, since their more or less a support special operations group. They run security while DEVGRU and A.C.E (it's not called C.A.G. anymore) proceed with the mission objective.
