  • i feel sorry for those pigs

  • after seeing these videos, im hungry

  • that could be used as a butcher stuff.

  • Cold Steel Grocery List: 3 whole pigs, 1 extra pig head, 1 side of beef, 1 cow head, 10 foot bamboo pole, some cardboard tubes, a thousand feet of 4 inch diameter nylon rope, a dozen 2 liter bottles of colorful soda, 3 trashcans filled with colored water, wooden Mongols, random boots filled with meat, a dozen basket balls, a dozen baseballs, maybe some potatoes and cantaloupes... I'd hate to be their intern... my car would smell so bad. And what if you get pulled over with a trunk full of this??

  • I want this sword so badly.. I'm pretty sure it'd be illegal to own in Canada, and you probably don't ship either.

  • @monkeyslaye You can buy their swords at their site or lots of places online, and swords are perfectly legal to own in Canada, you don't need a licence or anything. Just click "add to cart".

  • HOT POCKETS!

  • I have to say, this looks more like a Nagamaki than a Nodachi.

  • ANY BODY swinging that around is going to build up a sweat.

  • i want one.

  • It is a cool hybrid sword with great cutting power, but it is not a true No-Dachi.

  • Plywood seems like a pain in the ass for a blade to cut... It seems just as easy to just use some kind of blunt weapon like the Sword Breaker.

  • so cool

  • Lynn, Robert and all of the rest of the guys featured in this video are martial artists. True technique can be seen in each of their swings. I dare anyone calling them "fat-asses" to say it to their face. They would fuck you up so fast you wouldn't know what happened until your mama woke you up in the hospital the next day to tell you. Not only that, but Cold Steel is an all American company that you should be proud to support.

  • All you guys saying he is fat, just lay off. You can sit behind your keyboard and say whatever you want but in reality they have great interesting youtube videos, unlike most of you trolls. And probably all of you are fat in reality. You can't prove its not true unless you makea video of yourself (which is kinda freaky) But you guys can't talk like that. At least these guys have the courage to do this while you sit behind your keyboard and troll. Great vids guys :D

  • I thought a nodachi had a longer blade... oh well atleast this is more affordable.

  • Hey CS, i have been really wanting one of your swords, but they are SUPER expensive, so i thought. Okay, its a sword, to be expected. But i looked at the steel, it is 1055 carbon, how is that worth 300 bucks? Is it the process, or something in manufacturing? Or is materials just going up? But one of these days, im going to buy the fuck out of the gross messar sword or whatever its called. Semper Fidelis CS, love you guys!

  • WOW!! that thing is on of the most badass swords Ive seen!

  • How come all these fat asses flinging the weapons look like their getting ready to huff and puff themselves into cardiac arrest?

I don't care how much you boast about their training, if these guys can't make one swing without turning red and getting labored breath then they should eat less, jog more.

  • @hillbillysurfacemine Don't be so ignorant. That "one swing" is often a world renowned cut. Plus, we don't boast. It ain't bragging if it's true. We put the hours in - training and fighting every day. Come to our event (The Cold Steel Challenge) and watch members of our crew fight. Just be careful not to run your mouth like you are hiding behind your keyboard - you might regret it.

  • @csknives I don't know about all that. From where I'm sitting behind my keyboard (which is also, probably where everyone sits when they 'say something' on line) they look pretty sweaty for swinging a weapon a time or two. I've split wood all day before and not come out looking as labored as some of those tubbies. Thanks for the invite, but I don't hang out with fatties. If they spent as much time 'training' as you did talking about their training (not your training I noticed) they'd 'glow' less

  • @HellbilleH Whatever. Sounds like an excuse to me. We back up what we say, whereas you just keep runnin' your mouth. Go away

  • @csknives An excuse not to get fatty sweat on him, lmao. You dudes are fat. And saying something then blocking someone is just chickenshit.

  • @HhelllzzBbellzz 22 September. Ventura. Come along to the Challenge. Bring your big mouth

  • @csknives i wouldent worrie about a loud mouth closet case like this guy he only talks shit because he wouldent be able to handle a blade if it were to save his life and i bet he dont show up to it

  • @csknives can i come to watch??

  • @SuperBlockster LOL sure

  • @csknives can i come along? i want to test your stuff it looks great

  • @paladinx829 LOL We sometimes do live demos at events and shows. You can come along and watch if you like...

  • @HhelllzzBbellzz Dude relax, they arent skinny buff muscle builders, you can see that, but its not like someone is too fat to swing a sword, or be good at anything physical, besides i doubd your loud mouth could cut half way through butter with a hot kitchen knife.

  • @gwidao123 Excuse me? You CAN be too fat to swing a sword and being fat always impairs your phyiscal abilities for a certain amount.

That's not the case with all guys of the Coldsteel crew, but for example Lynn would benefit from losing some weight.

  • @An0niempje did you read what i wrote? when i said "someone" i MEANT the cold steel crew. and im not saying its not healthy to lose some wieght, but thats a persons choice, and and we dont really really know them personally (at least i dont, but kudos if you do). theres no need to bash someones morals because they are overweight.

  • @gwidao123 Well, personally I dislike fat people and imho it says something about a persons self-discipline, self-respect, moral values and capability. It doesn't say everything, for example Lynn must have more self-discipline then the average fatty to do the job he does.

Sorry if I didn't understand your first post correctly.

  • @An0niempje well i get what you mean with those "i am fat and whatever" people who dont have a clue they are unhealthy or just plain arrogant thinking they can do anything a normal person can, but you cant know that about everyone you see, its not good to judge people unless you know them first, i know tons of awesome people who are overweight and that doesnt mean i would treat them any differently, but well, a persons opinion is a persons opinion all we can do is give ours too right?

  • @gwidao123 Yes, everyone is free to have opinions.

  • @HellbilleH yeah yeah your a badass, we get it. all you have is talk this is the internet dont say things you cant back up, there all extremly well trained fighters with years of experience.

  • @hillbillysurfacemine if you dont like the people it the video then dont watch it or argue over the people in it. Now piss off!

  • how much does it cost per year for all the stuff you cut?

  • @trotskychu LOL I have no idea. A lot!

  • Damn, this thing has some power to it.

Please though Cold Steel... it's a nagamaki -__- Just being a PC prick, god knows (as well as you should) your products last and it'll be a cold day in hell when I have something bad to say about them.

  • 4:00 looks like a fucking execution lol

  • can anyone tell me the difference between a Nodachi and an Odachi? i keep getting confused

  • @SantoryuWazamono Technically, they are the same. The nodachi was just a more popular variant that saw more action on the battlefield for a longer period of time while most odachi eventually became either religious ceremony objects or were just to show the skill of a smith's craftsmanship.

  • @csknives If I ever get to work with Cold Steel after these demonstrations, I'd be a heck of a BBQ pit master for you guys :D

  • Comment removed

  • have you the spanish falcata the ones that made the romans reinforce their helmets thats a really interesting weapon

  • pooooor pigs ööööööööööööööhöhöhöhööööö

  • OH FUCK YES!! that is one sexy Nodachi

  • Hands down the coolest sword from cold steel, but it would be even better if it was given the care of the emperor series

  • an interesting weapon for sure... have you guys considered making other japanese weapons like polearms or maybe a sakabato... kenshin fans would love a sakabato :D

  • @zerrubabbel we've made polearms in the past. You never know... :)

  • VERTICALLY CHALLENGED LOL

  • Shut up and take my money

  • So....do you guys just have a barbeque after all the testing?

  • I bet PETA just loves these guys

  • Xultimatexbladerx

Nodachi are long handle katanas, odachi are long blade katana, thats pretty general knowledge for any cutlery enthusiast bro

  • @thealmightlumberjack to be honest, i've been reading mostly from the net... gotta get it in my skull i can't believe everything online

  • @thealmightlumberjack Lol, only if you think they're actually showing a nodachi. This is a nagamaki.

  • the messed up part is that isn't a nodachi, "nodachi"s don't exist to my knowledge. they're called odachi. americans (yes, i'm american) bastardize everything that doesn't come from here, sometimes even things that do....

  • @xUltimatexBladerx Our Japanese Sword expert would have to disagree with you on that one.

  • @csknives By the way...the nodachi in the vid is it at its max length? Mine is longer!

  • @csknives What is your Favorite sword

  • @MrRoxasVentus My personal favorite is the Italian Long Sword. I know Lynn loves the Dragonfly Katana and Robert favors the Grosse Messer or the Chinese War Sword. Luke likes the Warrior Katana and Jason carries a 1917 Saber every day :)

  • @csknives is it allowed to carry such swords in america ?:P

  • @MasTeRnoOkz that would depend which state you lived in

  • Comment removed

  • @xUltimatexBladerx a nodachi is basically a 2 hander version of a katana and it is called a nodachi in japanese

  • @xUltimatexBladerx

The nodachi is quite real, it just wasn't very common on the battlefield. As far as I know they were used for anti-cavalry purposes and for just plain boasting purposes since they would have been a bitch to forge back then.

  • I wanna know if it would cut a two foot diameter piece of sonotube

  • i would feel untouchable if i had this.

  • now thats a fucking badass weapon

  • Hey look i cut my meat the same way XD

  • The ratio between the hilt and the blade length is closer to a nagamaki than a nodachi

  • @MrBenjiBoss exactly what i was gonna say

  • 0:50 when ur vertically challenged like i am

  • Imagine it in one person

  • My friend got this. Tried to cut through a bottle. It broke

  • @QuietGuitaristfan tell cold steel that see what they have to say!

  • @MrUssrparadox I find it very hard to believe, but if by some bizarre turn of events it's true it would have to be sent back for inspection and probably replaced.

  • @QuietGuitaristfan I doubt that, highly. he probably hit the concrete ground for 20 minutes trying to make it break. i've bought cold steel products before, even tried to make one break, it took a lot.

  • @SuperCorndog10 No. There seem to be some errors in in the products sold. Another friend got it and it did not break. Must have just been a small error on that specific sword

  • Chuck Norris used to fear me, but then i got a Nodachi to the knee

  • That's one way to start a BBQ.

  • Makes you want to dress up and play ninja in the back yard. Just need the shrukens to go with it and perhaps a ninja outfit lmfao.

  • no animals were harmed in the making of this video.

  • I wonder if any of thoose grunts are japanese masters in sword fighting? and how to use a sword properly?

  • @TheDarkestballet They never claimed to be. All that they are showing is how well these swords cut. A cut from a master swordsman would be a lot better then what CS can do.

  • @Venedlor That does make sense ty

  • so much good meat...wasted :(

  • @scottlatter15 Donations to homeless shelters are not wasted.

  • Wow it cuts meat so does my kitchen knife

  • @TheJcashel your kitchen knife can't cut a chain mail

  • I feel bad for the night crew at this place.

  • 3:04 I really had to laugh! XD

  • @Kackamann1 That pig head was smiling until it got tagged by the nodachi

  • They should cut the animals into pieces alive!

  • i wanna see bandanna guy throw a few

  • That looks more like a nagamaki...

  • @Commonwealth96

yeah, a nodachi doesn't have that long of a grip. CS is just retarded.

  • a samurai master cuts that piece of meat in a moment 2:47...

  • Please teach the husky man to learn some technique

  • This thing looks ridiculous. I'll stick to my Wakazashi, thank you.

  • short arms,long sword , short penis

  • Holy crap

  • Cold Steel: Arming paranoid zombie apocalypse survivalists since 1980.

  • Zombies? Common it will come! I'm gonna use my 24" Latin machete, nodachi, and my Brooklyn crusher.

  • good kitchen knife =)))))) .

  • after the pig i stopped

  • bought a katana and a one handed blade. zombie apocalypse can come now.

  • this resembles more a nagamaki than a nodachi...but hey, it's cool anyway, good job

  • 1:12 why isn't George Lucas using a lightsaber? o.0

  • @Nictherocker Fuck yes! Did you read the ZSG by Max Brooks?

  • @deansusername I ordered it and I have it now, reading it soon

  • i dont really care for what country a katana comes from, if its battle worthy its for me.

  • Thumbs up if you always cringe during the bend test.

  • @SlapChopDj

If it broke or had gotten warped then they wouldn't have shown it

  • So if a pig ever picks on me il tie him up and giv him painful anal with my extra long "sword"

  • im buying all this CS shit for the zombie appocalypse. im serious

  • @nictherocker :D Let me fight beside!

  • @sparda74 sure

  • @nictherocker aww you stole mah idea :(

  • wish i wasn't broke... sigh

  • So it can kill meat? Can it defeat a boat oar? :D And... will it blend?

Did you know that Musashi's last duel was fought with a boat oar? He was up against Kojiro, who was using a nodachi. Oh. The guy under me knows that too! :D

  • Was the cow's skull cut what could we expect of a real japanese sword?

  • But can it cut rice paper?

  • Comment removed

  • 1:13 was a pretty clean cut. sounded good.

  • How could I not want a CS Nodachi? Because I wouldn't get past the corner of the street without getting arrested by the cops!

  • @Ermac97 Fucking cops. :/

  • Sadly not a nodachi, why did they list it as one? It's a nagamaki, I believe. Tell me if I am wrong.

  • @CandyVolcano Your right, its a Nagamaki known for its distinctive long handle and wrapping.

  • 0:16 Nag-t-na-tu? I thought it was Na-ji-ta-na

  • He's thinking of cutting his sparring partners?

  • nodachi can cut a zombie in half easy LOL

  • 2:25 did he just punch the post?

  • @marty13612 No, looks like either the blade or the guard hit it

  • can this sword be drawn from the back because it dosent seem to pratical to wear from the hip

  • i think the Ventura County Rescue Mission orders the size of the Pieces <.<"

  • 1:30 Did you say something?

  • they couldn't have chosen an unhealthier looking person?

  • hey pig, why the long face?

  • SPLIT THE PIG DOWN THE MIDDLE hahah thats great

  • The bamboo breaking could have been a miscalculation of angle

  • Waste of good meat!

  • Aren't nodachi blades a bit longer?

  • 1 free dead pig with every cold steel purchase

  • vertically challenged. hehe. btw mother says not to run with swords.

  • heheh. vertically challenged.

  • this is effective marketing. i'm broke and i want one! like the flea market montgomery ad campaign.

  • I can't decide what's the most pathetic: the fat lunatic who is completely incapable of using his weapon - or the other man that makes a weird pose at 2:29, trying to look impressive after having "defeated" the dead pig... True warriors indeed...

  • @Schtellan So I take it you're a professional-grade swordsman then? (Or are you a professional troll? My money's on the second option.)

  • @bjggjb Surely you don't have to be a master swordsman to see that this man uses his sword like a lumberjack would use an axe.. :)

  • @Schtellan Lynn Thompson has, to my understanding, been involved in martial arts and edged weapon training for over 30 years. Admittedly his technique with this big ape of a sword isn't the most graceful thing to watch, but maybe that's more of a testament to how clumsy the sword is, rather than the swordsman (note how @ 4:10 the bamboo BREAKS instead of neatly being cut.... unlike any other blade I've seen demonstrated in these videos. Much the same result could have been had with a tire iron.)

  • @bjggjb Ah, but here's the question: what martial art and what edged weapons? There's a big difference between a knife or a saber and a katana. As a one time student of the katana and now one of the German longsword, the man swings swords like a baseball bat or, as Schtellan so aptly put it, a lumberjack with an axe.

  • yay its sortof a sepheroth sword lol

  • Did the pigs survive?

  • I've got an oversized length of orange nylon rope I've been itching to slice up. This looks like the sword for the job!

  • that thing looks like a nagamaki...

  • why show off on cardboard?

  • @subyrockz4 Because it's incredibly annoying to cut through and every sword nerd can attest to that.

  • 2:18 Kung Lao Wins...FATALITY.

  • That fat guy is brutal.

  • but its... its so small
