  • I think the the game creators listened to you

  • I hope they release more from japan.

  • Great game, I loved the Wii Sequel better because you can fly around and not get hit too easily.

I did my best to support Japanese only virtual console games, but sadly I feel that Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe are not interested in supporting the system anymore and only the Japanese Virtual Console is the only one getting the support.

There are so many games still yet to come out for download, it is sad to see us PAL being screwed over.

But at least we got this one in 2008

  • So good, I love it. Star Successor is much harder I think. I find myself agreeing with the Wiiviewer completely on this. Great review.

  • @hermosapeach i say if u loved sin and punishment 2 get sin and punishment on zelda oot u would be better off playing it on the original n64 only cuz sertain things dont work in the vc

  • This is my fave game on virtual console that and zelda oot

  • @shadowandinuyasha I'm actually havin a hard time deciding which of those 2 games I should get I never got the chance to play Ocarina everyone talks incredibly good about it and I loved Sin and Punishment 2 on the Wii Please help I know both are awesome games but I only have 2000 wii points... Thank you ^_^

  • @hermosapeach just get ocarina, the original sin and punishment isnt as good as as Star Succesor. But honestly, if you have a 3DS get the 3D version, the graphics for Ocarina of Time are a little outdated.

  • And little did the Wiiviewr know, he has become the game predictor for Sin and Punishment.

  • Does VC-Virtual Console-translate into a wii? OR was the VC the U.S. version of Gamecube?

  • @Paperhouse81 VC-Virtual Console is part of the Wii Shop Channel where people download classic games onto the Wii console. I hope I answered your question correctly.

  • I for one never have enough credits because there are times when i'm stuck in an area where there isn't 100 enemies to kill. and i found the story to be very confusing at times. i understand a little more of it but there are still some parts i don't understand.

  • @GamerLink5 there is a prolog in the insructional manual, but its all in japanese

  • You can actually switch up the button configuration in the menus. I like configuration 3 where the shoulder buttons move you left or right, 'a' jumps, and 'b' fires. It would be interesting to play this with an actual N64 controller though. Maybe some day I'll get in to importing games. Any way, great review, and for me this game was well worth the download!

  • I have heard that you can change the controls.

  • I loved this game! Please review Sin and Punishment - Star Successor for the Wii! You asked for a remake, Ninty gave you a sequel! ;)

  • Gunny they re made this for the wii

  • @Gamer3059 get a genesis or snes game with this

  • how long does it take to finish? I know it's only $11 but that money could be used on Ogre Battle 64 or Zelda

  • @capucchan8 depends on difficulty level. while the game is relativly short you end up dying alot and having to retry levels. I recomend beating it on easy first, because it took me about ten hours to beat it on normal before realizing it wasn't set to easy the whole time I was playing it.

  • @capucchan8 I heard a master can ace this in about an hour

  • Voice acting was excellent???? Was your sound on????

  • @ruekurei88 It was in a time where voice acting was new, and the N64 rarely had voice acting due to its cartridge memory limits.

  • @1:59 giant enemy crab

  • @TheNJGamers hit it's weak point for massive damage

  • Are You def or something wii viewr. The voice acting was terrible!!!!!

  • You should grab yourself an accessory that allows you to plug in an N64 controller. I can't remember where to find it though. It has a short gamecube wire that allows the N64 controller to plug into it.

  • why cant you use the wii mote and nuncuck?

  • @809Ollie Because the game would have to be recoded in order to support Wii's motion controls. They simply don't do that sort of thing with Virtual Console releases. The best option would be for a company to produce an N64 controller that worked with the Wii, but that has yet to happen for whatever reason.

  • @vio2112 thats just stuipd its basicaly just an emulation then

  • @809Ollie Well yeah dude. That's precisely what Virtual Console is; emulation. It's really no different than the PC emulation that's been around for many years now. It's just the Wii running rom files on custom made emulation software.

  • @vio2112 yeh but it wouldnt take that much effort to make the wii mote work as a light gun i meen some of these VC games are quite costly

  • LOL I absolutely love this game, but you really thought the voice acting was excellent? I think I almost shit myself. It was laughably atrocious.

  • lol they did remake it for the wii

  • @degraff314159 thats not a remake its a sequal

  • @degraff314159 .Sequal not a remake.

  • No offense...but you kinda suck at this game. Good review though.

  • I want this! I just wish it was 1000 points

  • @2:09, haha, it appears that Treasure watched your review, since they made Sin and Punishment: Star Successor for Wii. Just kidding, they originally thought of making it for the Gamecube. i'm guessing that they decided to make it for Wii because of the controls, and the Gamecube doesn't have any online capabilities.

BTW, GameTrailers, I want you to watch this gameplay footage for a few minutes, then tell me again that Star Successor looks like an N64 game.

  • @nerftendo005 Actually, the Gamecube does have Wi-Fi capabilities, but not a lot of people know that, because the Gamecube only had 4 games that made use of the online capabilities.

  • @TheNintendoviews What games were those? Was Phantasy Star Online one?

  • @CyborgNinja7 Yes, the games were;

    Homeland

Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II

Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus

    and

Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution.

  • They should release the Japanese Mario 2 and the Mother/Earthound Trilogy on Virtual Console!

  • @jcmmhancock they did release mario 2, it's 600 points though

  • the voice acting in Sin 2 was horrible but a fun game

  • i just downloded this and bought the wii's sin and punshment and there both amazing i love them both!

  • have you reviewed de blob yet, just asking, if you haven't, go play it and review it. NOW!

  • PLEASE REVIEW THE SEQUEL

  • @segafanboy10 I agree since you reviewed the first one it only seems natural to review the second one

  • Funny, you wanted Sin and Punishment for the Wii and now, here you go, Sin and Punishment: Star Successor!

  • Can you please review the sequal?

  • there's a sequel

  • @TheYawnYawn

actually nintendo was all for putting rareware games like goldeneye and other rare games on theri VC, but they had conflict.

  • i heard they r making a new version comin out for the wii!

  • WHOA HE PREDICTED S&P 2.

  • @phosis XD he's physic

  • they made sin&punishment 2 for the wii xDDD

  • the sequel is better than the first one.

  • can it be downloaded in english?

  • @warwolf54 if your on about this game you can only get it with english voice acting and japanse subs. even the origanl japanse realse was like that apparntly.

  • Will you review the the sequel for the Wii? Star Successor

  • you better review sin and punishment star successor

  • Use Controller Type-2 and it's much more intuitive. Lets you use L and R on the classic controller for left and right.

  • whats VC

  • @kboy1231 virtual console

  • Sin and Punishment: Star Successor comes out June. 27, 2010.

  • the only reason why i got this on my wii is beacuse i want to play the sequel and i felt that i wouldnt understand the story if i just played the sequel this game is fun buy yeah i had to play around with the controlls for the gamecube contorllers

  • they makeing on for the wii

  • @TheGamers87 It's out for the wii :)

  • RE 2:09 Comment:

    HUZZAH FOR SIN & PUNISHMENT 2! :D

  • sucks

  • I would like to see if you could review Sin and Punishment 2 that is comming to the Wii around July this year...if you liked the original but hated the controls because it was originally was made with the N64 controller in mind, then the second version should fix up all those control issues.

  • i'm gonna have to try to play this when the wii version comes out.

  • 2:10

You are in luck, they're making a sequel :D

  • You know nothing. This game is an absolute classic and a must buy for REAL gamers who know what QUALITY is. (It IS a Treasure game after all...)

    Also, you REEK of amateurism.

  • wow, even as a teen, 64 graphics looked like shit to me. but this still looks good to this day. most likely framerate wise

  • You can change your controller settings in the main menu. There is one option that allows you to move your character with the L- and R-buttons of the Gamecube-controller which makes it more comfortable.

  • @wiivcgamer yeah totally agree i had no problems with the controls after switching to this method

  • make a review for Super Paper Mario:)

  • You know, they did make a second one for the WII. Its called sin and punishment two.

  • @extremeeric5

you know, this video was made before it was announced.

  • I've had this game for a while, I hated using the Game cube controller with it, but to me the Classic controller works fine, the controls work well and they feel natural, I have it set so left and right on the D-pad is to move left and right, the right analogue stick to aim, with L or R to jump or fire ^^

  • a squeal is on the way

  • I just bought this game last night and its great!!!!! even on easy its pretty difficult.

    Its WORTH 1200 points.!!!

You get used to the controls after awhile.

    Fun and Addictive.

  • what do you think about the sequel that's coming out?

  • cant wait for part 2 of this game

  • dude. along time ago i found an english dubbed pc version. played it. so much fun. addictive!

  • This is one of my favorite video games in existence. It is definitely worth the 1200 points I spent for it.

Not to mention we're getting a sequel. (Or supposed to. It's already out in Japan so I don't know what's taking so long for them to translate it for America)

  • At least you don't have to wait for the UK release XD

  • Can't wait for the second verson :D

  • geez. =\ looks better than a lot of wii games i've seen on the shelf at gamestop.

  • @kiketsuu That's Ghetto is'nt it

Well this year looks brighter for tiny white console

  • tere making sin and punishmunt 2!

  • there is one missing nintendo 64 game on VC and thats conkers bad fur day

  • That's not going to happen. Rareware owns Conker and Rareware was bought out by Microsoft. I thought most people knew that by now.

  • Dont crush my dreams man!!

  • @Dragonranger23 DAMN I WANT THAT GAME!!!!! (Donkey Kong Country and Banjo Kazooie as well if I'm not wrong...)

  • @Dragonranger23 Dont expect that to happen. To give you an idea how likely this game to come out on VC, Goldeneye has a way better chance :-\

  • @Dragonranger23 Sadly, that's owned by Rare who's now owned by Microsoft. . . so. . . it'll be not seen, proably. . .

  • @Dragonranger23

Same with Goldeneye and Banjo-Kazooie (curse you microsoft, you suck at publishing Rareware games, give it back to Nintendo).

  • @Dragonranger23 ya thats never gonna happen

  • YEAH!!! I really loved that game, a squirrel going around swearing and blowing crap up, it appeals to three different types of people also because of Conker's gf. The game is so big though that it would wipe out a lot of space on the Wii. It probably won't be re-released until the Nintendo Wii 2 comes out if it ever does.

  • @Dragonranger23 yea BFD is and always will be an awsome game

  • @Dragonranger23 That's never gonna happen because Rare belongs with Microsoft now.

  • @Dragonranger23 Rare isn't owned by Nintendo anymore, so that will never happen.

  • @Dragonranger23 That's because it was created by Rare, and Microsoft now owns the rights to Rare instead of Nintendo. The same goes for Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, and Donkey Kong Country 64 (or whatever it's called).

  • @Dragonranger23 That will never happen. Rare is with Microsoft, so Conker's Bad Fur Day will never come up on the Virtual Console.

  • @Dragonranger23 .thats cus microsoft bought Rare.

  • @Dragonranger23 it's a rare game who are now owned by microsoft. It'll never happen.

  • @Dragonranger23 One? There's tons man. The Turok trilogy, Extreme-G 1 & 2, Shadow Man, Wipeout 64, Resident Evil 2, Castlevania 64 and Legacy of Darkness, among others. And of course the numerous Rare games like Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie and it's sequel, Perfect Dark, Gemini Jetforce, Diddy Kong Racing AND Conkers Bad Fur Day. But you can blame MS for buying Rare for that. As long as MS has control of them, they'll NEVER be able to reissue their games on a Nintendo console. Sad, but true.

  • @Dragonranger23 You'll probably get a 360 remake.

  • @Dragonranger23 or every other Rareware game...goldeneye,banjo kazooie, perfect dark..........

  • get enough downloads of this game and we could get japanese crono trigger!(which had an extra character)

  • LOL Funny but not true. There is no extra person in the japanese ver of CT.

  • The rumor began because there was a 10the space in the source code, as well as walkin map animations of the end of time fella

The 10th space was said to be there when your party is short 1 to 2 members. The walking animation of the end of time person might have been a quest. The part where the end of time person said he wants to be in the group in the Woolsy ver of CT is a mistranslation of the character mentionin that Crono's friends should take credit in saving him.

  • Yeah, there is. His name is Maou, and he's awesome!

The U.S. version also had an extra character. His name was Magus, and he was exactly the same as Maou!

  • yah know how after you revive crono at death peak there isn't a side quest in antiquity. in the japan version, there was a side quest there and it unlocked schala as a character

  • @Scopesightzx

No. No there wasn't. She was never playable. I have played through the Japanese version in its entirety enough times to get everyone's stats maxed, and Sara (Schala) is not playable, EVER. Maoh (Magus) is the ONLY optional character.

  • they are making sin and punishment 2 should be out first quarter...

  • kinda reminds me of wild guns

  • Okay guys the for the controls its really not a big deal because YOU CAN ACTUALLY CHANGE THEM to pretty much whatever you like.

Personally for me I used classic controller and had it so left and right on d-pad was move up on d-pad was jump. Shoot was R i think and right stick was aim it was much much more natural. Please do yourself a favor and get this magnificent game.

  • Wiiviewer, your voice seems a little like you were sick. The review lacks your usual sense of humor. Hope you're better now! And thanks for showing me to avoid this title

  • He actually said to get it, and you should it's great.

  • its just one of his first reviews he wusnt funny then

  • somebody PLEASE tell me how the controls on the gamecube controller is. I BEG YOU!!

  • Use the 3th setting, it works well. It uses the shoulder buttons to move right and left, A to jump B to shoot, Y to change lock-on to manual and vice versa. It's way more intuitive than the default setting. Guess Wiiviewr didn't tried that set up.

My only complained not really a huge issue with using the Gamecube controller is the shoulder buttons. They have to travel a fairly long distance before you get to the 'click', this makes rolling hard at times.

  • thanks, at least sin and punishment 2 is going to be KICK-ASS- ESRB rating- KA

  • that actully used to be a rating-kids to adults but they changed it to e for every one

  • i know

  • i think you mean 3rd setting?

  • didnt u noticed that the wii making old nintendo gamescome to life like punch-out i mean when was the last time nintendo made a punch-out game on the nes and was the first and now they are makin old games get back like this one and more and for the first time nintendo make 2 3d mario games mario galaxy 2 is comin and what im saying that the wii changed nintendo and its awesome and whaet games tey ganna make maybe mario sunshin 2 and note does excitebot count cuz exitebikes

  • Sin And Punishment 2 Is Coming Out For The Wii Next Year

  • there is sooo much irony in this vid

  • This game it is of the Mozart!!

  • Comment removed

  • hopefully we get Secret of Mana 2 and Jet Force Gemini even though Secret of Mana 2 was only translated by a programmer/hacker not employed by square and Jet Force is owned by rare.

  • i dont even own a wii but i still like to watch your reviews

  • they are making a sin and punishment two for the wii. it was announced at E3

  • they r remaking it 4 tha wii.

    :)

  • oh ty

  • what does vc stand for?

  • Virtual Console

  • Virtual Console

  • review the conduit

  • remake for wii next year

  • sequel

  • said it wrong sorry

  • review rock band please :)

  • The game IS being remade :D

    Quartal 1 2010

  • BTW. It was release in america. Great game. It has extremly basic graphics though. Look how very little polygons there are.

  • heyy wiil u review my sims racing

  • STOP ASKING!

  • will you review my sims racing

  • if it bothers u that much i will stop

  • Wiiviewr, are you going to get SAP 2?

  • I like that main character. Is he in the sequel?

  • I guess. But this game was pretty hard. Especially that Heartbomb and the Earth battle with Achi.

  • Not playable, anyways.

  • Saki? Well he probably is. The kid we're controlling in the sequel is named Isa and if I remember correctly, that was the name of Saki and Airan's future son.

  • Oh really! Cool. Thanks :D

  • You know you can use the Dpad to move and the right analog stick to aim. This makes the controls so much easier. Also, use the sword whenever you can! It does massive damage and can reflect projectiles

  • I'm glad the sequel will come to America too. Another successful franchise to Nintendo.

I was sooo excited when I got this.

  • I just hate some of the bosses. Other wise this game is so totaly awesome!!! Also the time limit can be anoying on some bosses to.

  • Hey Wiiviewer, would you suggest this or World of Goo, because I have 1500 points and torn between the two.

  • The Wii sequel is gonna kick ass when it come out later this year

  • game looks awsome

& it is coming to the wii

    sin & punishment 2

  • great review!

  • for some reason this game reminds me of space harrier...either way, that and this game are great!

  • "And the voice acting was excellent."

    ...the crap? Are you high?

  • Its worth more than ocarina of time really, HAHAHAHA thats rich thats just really funny OMG HAHAHA no way man just no way
