I don't know about Dobbs, but we need some sort of rational dialogue about immigration. Should we protect our borders or is that some sort of racist thing to do? Americans are so intimidated about this being about race when it's simply about sovereignty and fairness. All countries protect their borders, Mexico in the South does too and I respect them for that --so are they hegemonists racists againts Guatemalans? I certainly don't agree with everything Dobbs says, but I applaud him for being one of the few people in the media who has the balls to take a meaningful stand against illegal immigration. In spite of what this out-of-context collage of video clips suggests, all that Lou Dobbs is saying about immigration is that Mexicans should be subject to the same background checks, immunizations, etc. that immigrants from any other country are. The fact we share such a large unguarded border with Mexico provides the opportunity for some Mexicans to circumvent these checks. All he wants is for that to stop, not Mexicans to stop immigrating. I used to actually like him, I thought he spoke truth to power which is NOT a journalists job. The U.S have very few of them left. There are NONE on any of the corporate media news channels that's a fact. They are simply instigators and "repeaters" they simply repeat a story and rarely look into it. and... the illegals do have a different culture, very different from the culture shared by white and afro-americans. Afro-americans are much western in their mentality than hispanics.
That doesnt necessarily mean that the mexican culture is inferior, but it does mean thay play the game in the society differently, which again bread resentment.

you're grouping all mexicans under the illegal label and that is quite wrong. Define "white" culture. Define "afro-american" culture. You can't! There's no such thing as "white" or "black" or "brown" culture, you can't be that broad about it, you just can't. Actually all cultural groups living in the U.S. share a certain common culture wether people like you are willing to admit it or not. You can't define "American" culture because we're a melting pot of hundreds of cultures.

The problem with illegal immigration is not the immigrants themselves, but the social problems that follows. Basically the mergency rooms are filled up by immigrants who are parasites on the health system.
