  • i thought that was jessie j!

  • Brett ahaha wth... This is an awesome friggin tip and its for free oO... U da man!!!!

  • ahhhh!!!!! uhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!

  • 2:18...close your eyes and listen to the audio xD

  • just listen to the audio ... LOL

  • people should realise, if your not taking anything good from this video, like still asking ' ... so how do i belt...? ' your not ready for this video, this video goes into refining a belt, or being able to sing whilst belting.

come back in a couple months and this video should help

if you want to belt, try shouting and pushing as hard as you can.

this will give you bad habits most likely, and you then work to make the belt nicer and safer to your vocal health

    ask me anything

    David

  • In two parts never taught how to belt. Just that you don't want to yell just cry. Another useless video.

Maybe there will be a part 3 that gets to the point.

  • @Bugbus You need to purchase the full video. They're not just going to tell you; it'd remove the need for their program. This is just a preview.

  • @Bugbus the title says how to sing - belting, not how to belt, belting can be done very 'against' the voice and can be done naturally also, but both are dangerous to the voice, *over time*, if you yell, you get the idea of belting but this is how to take a yell and make it a nice belt.

    ask me anything..

    david

  • Im really confused now...so how do you belt?

  • Thank you for posting! I was able to hit notes that i couldn't hit yesterday. This really works!!

  • oh nice chick

  • awesome videos..i got a few questions..how do we define "belting"..is it pushing the chest voice to the max?

How do we find our vocal range on the piano for head and chest voice for females and males?

Is it true that females cannot hit falsetto?

I am really confused abt this...Thanx in advance :)

  • @axxed334 belting is where you make the sound in a slightly different part of the vocal structure,

and resonance is moslty in the mouth, it has chest tones but is still mostly mixed

for your vocal range you should find out what you are eg: bass baritone tenor, alto mezzo-soprano soprano,

so you need to find passagios in your voice and then you can figure when head starts and when chest naturally stops.

females have falsetto but its very similar to their normal voice

    ask me anything

  • "You can't fail." True, you can't fail to hit the note that way, but, IMO, you go nasal and whiney and lose pureness of tone. To me, the nasal sound is best reserved for reggae and, in some cases, R&B, or purely for style (as with Buble). To go nasal for the purpose of reaching a note means either that that note just isn't for you, or you need to practice more techniques that will allow you to reach it purely. The worst thing in the world, to me, is a whiny sound. It should be outlawed..

  • "Yo Adrianne" LOL!

  • The reason they call it chest, and head is a matter of where the resonance and phonation reside in the individual. Yes, sounds come from the larynx and vocal folds but it's called terminology. If everything was called what it literally existed as, the world would not have poetry nor singers for that matter. It'd be "homo sapiens making sounds at different pitches via use of the vocal folds".

  • hates how people refer to cheat voice and head voice when theres no such thing. sound is made in the larynx. not the chest or head. just a fact.

  • @supermm666

They are terms used to describe sympathetic resonance. Not too many people actually think the sound is made in the head or chest.

  • he hasnt got a fucking clue what he's on about. I bet he hasnt sat any of the EVT levels?? He has read a little bout EVT then added his own shit in....For one there is no head voice or chest voice in EVT ..The EUH sound he is saying splats??? is bollocks...It is a glottal onset....when the chords become thick....Plus belt has shit all to do with chords..its the larynx and cricoid tilt that belts..

  • I like these videos, but they are def not for begginers

  • The only real female belter of today is Christina Aguilera: she uses the belting to go up EVERYTIME she sings high (if she doesn't use head voice or falsetto). She put out from her mouth a massive powerful voice, but she really knows how to use it, because she does whole concerts always using that voice quality. The problem is that "belting" is "yelling" not "chest voice in high notes" or "cry with mix register". In the belting, the cricoid cartilage rotates pushing arytenoids to get them thick.

  • @okramsinger and i think amy lee too.the way she delivers high notes are powerful and in full voice too!

  • that was so usefull MG!.. i love you brett! best guy ever

  • lol

  • I´m so glad Brett Manning exists lol

  • where the hell did this woman come from?!??!?

  • I'm in a metal band,

    I sing and I shout/scream

I prize myself for having a good voice and I always want to push my self further.

But is all the screaming doing damage to my voice?

It feels comfortable when I do it but I would hate to lose my voice.

    can you help?

    thanks

  • @krissthemusicman yes it does hurt your voice check learn to sing - singing rock , he explains that you cant avoid the damage but you can still find the best balance for you so as having "rock" sound and silmutaneously dont hurt that much... but havent you heard for instance about steven tyler that has surgery or many other artists... I suppose it is a way that you choose.. either live intensively with risk or not.. ;)

  • @Idontfeelonce

    Thankyou =)

  • @krissthemusicman Screaming is never good for you're voice, every belting or ''yelling'' (can't come up with another word for it) Isn't good for your voice.

  • @krissthemusicman As long as whatever you do with your voice FEELS ok to you, then you are doing it safe. There are basicly techniques to master ANY sound of the voice; that includes screaming/growling/singing with rasp etc. The point is that as long as you do not feel any pain or discomfort, the voice is probably doing fine; however, always try to improve your technique so that you sing as good and safely as possible. That way you´ll also sound your best. Good luck!

  • @djeikop

    Thnaks =)

  • @djeikop he is not talking about EVT there's more then just EVT you know. And this method (which is not a method at all, thankfully..) helps you sing loud without having to belt the notes out. Belting is a trick which you can use but if that's the only way you can sing loud... Your voice hasn't any strenght in it.

  • My god how these videos are great, if I lived out there would have been his student brett, I learn from you and how voce.Brasil

  • lol!

  • maybe you're saving my life i''ll try it tomorrow and i'll see what happens : D

  • He's just solved my problems in this one vid!

  • If I only live in America, I will go to Bret Manning, I want to be a rockstar, like Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Jorn Lande, Symphony X, etc.

  • brett manning is a genius lol how does he come up with all these different exercises haha

  • omg that was awesome, the cry made it so much easier I can't wait to get the program, its gonna take my singing to another level!
