They did not all have the time to spare necessarily, many took holidays from work, took work with them etc because they felt that it was imperative that they were heard.

This is convoy #2 , there has been fundraising further south and it was reported last night that waiting for the convoy in Clermont was over ten thousand dollars of donated fuel money! Locals of Charters Towers also donated a lot of time and food for those in the convoy. The convoy were very impressed and said it was said to have put confidence back in the convoy.
