Know that on these rifles the scope mounts are fastened on the BARREL!! ...so if you shoot the barrel hot, it expands, and your scope rises! You will then hit lower than you aim... Other than that, nice rifles, but I'm gonna go for a Merkel RX Helix! :D
Top of the line high tech weapon system that cost more than my car. And it doesn't eject. You ask me I would be pretty pissed off about that. If it is supposed to be a "tactical weapon" it wouldn't risk a jam by letting the casing bounce back into the receiver. Still a beautiful rifle none the less and looks like a lot of fun. I have several rifles that shoot 1/4 MOA and the all cost less than 800 bucks each. And they eject!
@redpoopsicle You must not be familiar with the operation of bolt action weapons, when you pull the bolt back slowly, the round doesn't eject, you have to pull it back fast for the to happen, and it does that on purpose. Snipers intentionally pull slowly so the brass doen't fly up in the air, catch some light, and reveal their position to who ever they are shooting at.
@ballygeale1 it's a straight bolt-action. unlike most other bolt-action rifles where you have to unlock and then relock the bolt, on the blaser you just rotate the handle back a little, pull the bolt back to eject the spent casing, and push it foward to reload. its a lot smoother and faster than a standard bolt-action.
on the CBS TV show "The Unit", they used R93 Tactical for a mission needing to pick a target out of a crowd hitting no one else. they used cored out mercury filled custom loads so the bullets physics would cause the bullet to do damage but not exit the target. Watching them choose this design has drawn me to get one. Even Agent 47 likes using it.
These rifles are incredibly accurate, almost as accurate as a true benchrest rifle. The problem is the stock. Unless you REALLY love a biatholon style stock, it just isn't very ergonomical.
The ability to switch barrels into different calibers is also a nice plus since you don't have to buy the entire rifle.
His form is also excellent, You can tell he's been formally trained in long range shooting...
not in reality.. It is good practice not to move your eyes or cheek weld, so that you stay on target, but target aquisition is always done, whether you change postition or not. You do it on the first shot, you can do it on everyone after.
his form is ideal, his platform remains steady. great demonstration of long range shooting fundamentals. even more important to remain static with the left hand when using bipod and no sand bags. notice at 2:18 when the round fails to fire that the weapon remains completely still...EXCELLENT trigger control and firing position. i don't think you really know what you are talking about.
That rifle allows you to swap the bolt's handle, so you can operate it with your left hand, while keeping your right hand in place.
I saw a demonstration, a while back, where a man was able to fire off a few consecutive shots from the Blaser, in a few seconds. He did so by supporting the rifle with his left hand, just below the action, allowing him to quickly cycle the rounds, without breaking his line of sight.
He came insanely close to the time of a semi-auto, of the same caliber.

You should really wait a little longer in the case of a missfire, give it a good 10 seconds just in case its only a hang fire!

isn't the bullet shells HOT???
bbaacc0990 2 years ago
not as hot as u might think... touchable
dimgl19 2 years ago
its very seldom that a cartridge is really hot... it depends on the heattransfer from the weapon
dimgl19 2 years ago
@bbaacc0990 Not typically from a bolt action....You would have to shoot a LOT. There barely warm...

I shoot the LRS2 with a Nightforce-Scope and with Lapua Scenar <5mm/100m. Not for "benchrest", but a very nice gun.

This is a sniper gun from BLASER, caliber 308 or 6mm. High precision weapon, prob. the best sniper gun in the world

the barrett is a nice gun but only considering its .50caliber round however all guns have unique advantages and disadvantages
liag877 3 years ago
yeah like barrett, you won't survive if u get shot and it is pretty accurate. Don't forget about accuracy international, they have some nice rifles.
FirefoxPL 3 years ago
Yeah, but neither the artic warfare or the barrett can match this thing in 6mmbr. Its a benchrest-caliber for christ sake :P
