They were part of the writing team on Scary Movie and that sucked they then decided they had enough of scary movie and didn't write on the rest of the crappy un funny franchise. I absolutely hated Dances with Wolves/Aliens. Oops! I just got my good movies confused with my bad ones. Avatar was a visual marvel but little else and I doubt 9 new minutes of footage will help flesh out the characters more ( no pun intended ) so much as provide more reason to go see this again in Imax for the ones who missed it!

Yea, I thought that while Avatar was very good in creating a beautiful artificial world it was a way to calculated movie and in the end I maybe shortening the film by half an hour would suite the movie better than adding another 8+ mins. When Avatar was first released Cameron never thought hed make over 1 bill. in theaters so he would just make the typical one disk blu ray with decent PQ and a bunch of deleted stuff. Obviously it has done much better than anticipated so he gathered a couple million and went back to work on the scenes for this fan driven release, he made the last dvd barebones (even ad free) so the pic/sound quality was at its absolute maximum.

And releasing it on disney channel would mean its free, so the DVD is a cheap move. I've seen Vampires Suck and it was very good actually, the bad thing is that you need to have seen at least the first twilight movie and new moon to understand almost 90% of the jokes.
It really is a shame that my favorite genre always does so poorly in the box office, but comic book fans, a fair bit more than others, are notorious for downloading movies. :(
hmm, well I actually saw Vampires Suck, and it wasn't bad. Actually the best I've seen since Scary Movie. It pokes fun in the right places, while other times it falls flat. But I'd recommend it to all who want to see a alright comedy, and don't really care about slight dumbness.
Gahhhhhhh Vampires Suck is gonna...sssssssssuck. The director of all those films has done poorly in the past and I think he will do just as poorly now. Perhaps if it weren't all gag and if it were relatively funny I'd go out and see it. But it isn't. So I won't.
I wonder if the rank of a movie in the box office would change if the ability to watch them online or on DVD before release was never possible. I am very far against watching a movie that's in theaters online or on DVD before release. Sometimes great movies don't make as much as they should on their opening day because so many people are watching it online or on a pre-made DVD.

I betcha next weekend Scott Pilgrim will get a lot more in the box office. It probably just wasn't that successful this weekend because of Expendable's opening weekend. I saw Inception twice and my friends saw it three times. I probably won't see Avatar: Special Edition.
Free passes don't actually hurt the movies budget (much). If the movie is good you will tell more people to see it. If it is not, or disappointing, you'll tell people to wait til it's on DVD. The movie, Scott Pilgram, was good, but lacked something.
Maybe it was the Men vs. Women Vs. Youth where we guys were to interested in telling Hollywood to go shove their chick flicks and give us some more high quality guy action movies we've missed so much.
I saw Avatar for free last time. I'll take another comp ticket. If Avatar fans are like Star Wars fans, I can unload my DVD on Ebay, when the special edition comes out.

@ctparker914 Yeah, but that's the problem. He's just doing it for extra money, and I don't think that he deserves to make a profit off of this. It would be completely unfair to other film directors, who actually put effort and money into what they release. Avatar: Special Edition took no money or effort to make.
@stabl324 I disagree, The exorcist the version you have never seen made a whole lot of money (the total for the movies original releasde and all of its re-releases is 400 million a huge ammount for rated R and horror and for the budget) for just 11, more munites, better picture and audio, the only difference I guess if that this was released last year,
I'm disappointed Scott Pilgrim did so poorly. I liked it and most everyone I've talked to who's seen it thought it was a really good movie. I'd have to agree about the free screenings, they really shot themselves in the foot with that one.
I feel so bad for Scott Pilgrim. I went to see that this weekend and thought it was fantastic, even not being a total gamer and catching all the references. It's a shame it did so poorly.
Are you also aware that Friedburg and Seltzer are the most hated directors ever? Personally, I don't like their films, but they aren't the worst (Dinner for Shmucks was way worse than Meet The Spartans IMO). But some people have went as far as to make death threats to them over parody films. Come on! Is the internet really this ruthless to send death threats over a bad film? It's just a movie!
Scott Pilgrim was EASILY one of my favorite movies of the year, and I had never even heard of the comic before. After talking my room mates into going today to see it with me for my second viewing, maybe it will be up to people such as myself and word of mouth to give this film the extra boost it rightfully deserves!
Wont be seeing the Avatar special edition even though I love the movie. Will be picking up the special edition blu-ray when released. As for Vampires suck thoes movies are always terrible and unfunny so I wont see it.

I've seen Vampires Suck and it was very good actually, the bad thing is that you need to have seen at least the first twilight movie and new moon to understand almost 90% of the jokes.

It really is a shame that my favorite genre always does so poorly in the box office, but comic book fans, a fair bit more than others, are notorious for downloading movies. :(

I'm really surprised Dinner for Schmucks did so poorly.

hmm, well I actually saw Vampires Suck, and it wasn't bad. Actually the best I've seen since Scary Movie. It pokes fun in the right places, while other times it falls flat. But I'd recommend it to all who want to see a alright comedy, and don't really care about slight dumbness.

Gahhhhhhh Vampires Suck is gonna...sssssssssuck. The director of all those films has done poorly in the past and I think he will do just as poorly now. Perhaps if it weren't all gag and if it were relatively funny I'd go out and see it. But it isn't. So I won't.

I wonder if the rank of a movie in the box office would change if the ability to watch them online or on DVD before release was never possible. I am very far against watching a movie that's in theaters online or on DVD before release. Sometimes great movies don't make as much as they should on their opening day because so many people are watching it online or on a pre-made DVD.

I betcha next weekend Scott Pilgrim will get a lot more in the box office. It probably just wasn't that successful this weekend because of Expendable's opening weekend. I saw Inception twice and my friends saw it three times. I probably won't see Avatar: Special Edition.

562 million is over half a billion.
Free passes don't actually hurt the movies budget (much). If the movie is good you will tell more people to see it. If it is not, or disappointing, you'll tell people to wait til it's on DVD. The movie, Scott Pilgram, was good, but lacked something.
Maybe it was the Men vs. Women Vs. Youth where we guys were to interested in telling Hollywood to go shove their chick flicks and give us some more high quality guy action movies we've missed so much.

I predict Vampire Sucks will be a huge hit at the Box-office. not only for twi-haters but also for fans who love silly movie spoofs e.g Airplane among others. It's just goes to show you. Old fashioned MANLY action movies rock at the Box-office. The Expendables clobber all others especially Eat Pray Snore.

Have you heard that Quentin Tarantino wants to make a movie about the Vega brothers? Vic Vega is Mr. Blonde from Reservoir Dogs and Vincent Vega is from Pulp Fiction. Tarantino was talking about making a movie about them and I just can't understand how that's possible since they both died. Maybe a pre-quel to both movies?

@ctparker914 Yeah, but that's the problem. He's just doing it for extra money, and I don't think that he deserves to make a profit off of this. It would be completely unfair to other film directors, who actually put effort and money into what they release. Avatar: Special Edition took no money or effort to make.

@stabl324 I disagree, The exorcist the version you have never seen made a whole lot of money (the total for the movies original releasde and all of its re-releases is 400 million a huge ammount for rated R and horror and for the budget) for just 11, more munites, better picture and audio, the only difference I guess if that this was released last year,

I'm disappointed Scott Pilgrim did so poorly. I liked it and most everyone I've talked to who's seen it thought it was a really good movie. I'd have to agree about the free screenings, they really shot themselves in the foot with that one.

Are you also aware that Friedburg and Seltzer are the most hated directors ever? Personally, I don't like their films, but they aren't the worst (Dinner for Shmucks was way worse than Meet The Spartans IMO). But some people have went as far as to make death threats to them over parody films. Come on! Is the internet really this ruthless to send death threats over a bad film? It's just a movie!

Scott Pilgrim was EASILY one of my favorite movies of the year, and I had never even heard of the comic before. After talking my room mates into going today to see it with me for my second viewing, maybe it will be up to people such as myself and word of mouth to give this film the extra boost it rightfully deserves!

Scott Pilgrim VS. the World is so under rated, i thought it was almost as funny as the hangover!.i can probably understand that if you don't like music or video games or even comics, then you wouldn't like the movie, but it definitely had all three of those elements and therefor made it a 2 thumbs up for me!
