  • I love this kind of music. I can't wait to meet Ralph one of these days. Best Wishes LittleCountryDJ

  • "2 fat fellers" wow he called 'em how he saw 'em

  • I Love these guys, simply the greatest. lets no forget that Bluegrass is the real Soul music...

  • hey Amfortaz, its because your'e an unworldly moron. You asked, I answered.

  • One of Ralph's best bands in my opinion. Sammy Atkins had it right. Junior one of the best leads around. And the great Curly Ray. A great band !

  • Why do I love it when they sing and play, but hate it when they talk?

  • @Amfortaz hahahaha

  • Jack Cooke RIP

  • Howdy folks! This is Sharron Adkins, Sammy's cousin. My husband who is his blood cousin plays the fiddle in his band, along with,Jr. Blankenship, Danny Lee Davis, and Aaron Jackson. I am asking all of you to come and join our fan page on facebook. It is managed by all of us Adkins' and Sammy included. Please spread the word to help build up his fan page and here is where you can always keep up with him, his music, and shows. Let that mountain Syle of bluegrass live on through us. See ya there!

  • Sammy is the greatest! I played in his band for a little while about 2 years ago and I love every minute of it. Sammy's the man and the vocalist!

  • I love this music!!! And am a Sammy fan!!!!!!!! Anyone know where I can find more of his videos? Thanks, Sandy

  • Cline Boys.

  • Good job by The Clinch Mountain Boys. That's real bluegrass!

  • Dearest Ralph,

I'm probably kin to those Cline boys in your band there.

Keep on singing so well, as you do.

  • They need some of this up on Capital Hill.....might bring some sense to those idiots....maybe if they were dancin', they'd quit spending money they don't have!

  • Larry Sparks once said in an interview that Ralph's mountain tenor could make any singer sound good. Sammy, Keith and Roy Lee are my all time favorites.... Still can't beat the old stuff when Carter was still alive !!!

  • Keith Whitley was Ralph's best singer

  • yeah & so would i this is awesome

  • does anyone know if the whole concert is available to buy? id love this

  • curley ray was the best

  • you're 100% right!

  • This is sometime in the 80's .

Some of the best times for Ralph's band with Curly Ray and Junior Blankenship.

I was at a show once and gave Junior 50.00 for a Ralph Stanley coat they were out of at the time, just his word.

2 weeks later my coat came, try that at a Tim Mcgraw show.

  • Curly Ray is a much better fiddler than Charlie.

  • Awesome! Sammy Adkins was Ralph's best lead singer in my opinion. He has that unique Mountain Sound you hear in certain parts of East KY I love.

  • I don't know, I'm partial to another lead singer Ralph had from Sandy Hook, Kentucky, a young man with a blonde mane who had the greatest voice in country music history.

  • Whitley is good for sure. He was less archaic sounding though, and more polished.

  • Roy Lee Centers was another one of the best singers Ralph had, can't leave out Larry Sparks either, but I always enjoyed Sammy Adkins.

  • Yeah Sammy is definitely unique I always thought, felt his sound was maybe the most Mountain sounding.

  • Wow, this was 21 years ago. I'm glad that Ralph is still going, along with Jack Cooke(still the bass player for the Clinch Mountain Boys).

  • Happy Birthday to Ralph today, per the papers!

  • Excellent! Whomever provided this video please share more!
