  • One is not an immigrant if their family has lived in a country since before that country's inception. I'm an immigrant like peanut butter is an invention and not just smashed peanuts.

  • Tunes Award Winner 2010

  • bad lyrics, bad music, bad song, just bad all around ~ even bad politics... You have no understanding of the founding of this country and how socialism failed even here with Jamestown, and how it has failed all around the world - hence the fail song, I guess...

  • You do a great job. I am mostly conservative, but I listen to what you sing and it touches me and opens my mind to other points of view. Thank you. I love your songs. One thing though, many of these posts from "us folks?" seem kind of closed minded to "those folks" just like "those folks" seem closed minded to the Muslims.

  • You do a great job. I am mostly conservative, but I listen to what you sing and it touches me and opens my mind to other points of view. Thank you. I love your songs.

  • one of your best yet! really appreciate that you have the time to make a song everyday.

  • Wow this is an amazing song! Best I have heard so far.

  • You are awesome. Keep up the awesomeness

  • i also believe in evolution... and they are known to be some serious science haters.... i'm trying to see wtf is going on... but there is too much biased hate and mudslinging to get any meaningful info.... and most of all SWEET SONG , man... love it.

oh, and i think that people should leave the Muslims alone, wasn't it a terrorist extremist group that hit the towers? so they give true Muslims a bad name...

  • @xBLOODBAFx clueless - wasn't it? wtf - wish I were articulate here and intelligence too...

  • i dont trust the tea party at all... so sry they dont get my vote. i mean... they're republicans and they are apart of a corrupt party , aren't they some facist neocons or something? eew... and where the fuck were they when bush was around? are they a bit racist? they dont like him? thats what politicians do .... i'm christian and i heard palin was , but i dont aprove , i'm sure she means well as a person , but as a politician she has no fkin clue...

  • @xBLOODBAFx get a clue - you sadly have no idea about what's going on in American politics today - which means you don't have a chance because if you can't get it today, how could you possibly understand it's history, and more importantly it's foundations. I can only imagine you under the age of 18. If so, I apologize, otherwise it makes me sad that you would waste an American vote every year.

  • I like Beck but O'Reilly (Mr. Loofah Boy is what I like to call him) is a fraud and Coulter needs her mouth stapled shut.

  • Very good song. So glad I subscribed to your channel. The lyric "you're never gonna reason with these folks" just hits the nail on the head- logic has no effect on these people, don't even bother trying to explain to them that Obama was born in Hawaii and he has a legitimate birth certificate, they don't care. They just want to hate. Good song.

  • awesome song! wow just wow!

  • Heh, more comments than views? Maybe people should listen more and talk less. Let's talk about Jonathan's art -- he's still a genius whether you agree with his lyrics or not! I love the music - it's very catchy!

  • @deluded00 ok, there are more views than comments now, but still, you get what I'm sayin. Anyways, love the music - keep it up!

  • Found a cooky teapartier on twitter: lemontree46

  • Wow Jonathan, You really went out on one with this huh? I like it. I wont even begin with my rant but I do appreciate your intellect. If we didn't have opinions where would we be. This is a crazy world man. I am glad folks like you make music.

  • Great message in this song. I am anti-TeaParty and anti-FoxNews. If we had a white president, would they be disputing his birth place? NOT. Racial prejudice is involved in this. Your song says it all...You're Never Going to Reason with these Folks...mainly because they don't want to be reasoned with. They like to make things up to please their own agenda, and that's it. Reality...the truth...the facts, well that doesn't figure in their limited mentality.

  • best worst song ever!!!! i love it...ppl can get mad but there is truth behind what you are saying!

  • great song and great lyrics and sooooo true!

  • The Tea Party... Human ignorance at it's finest.

  • @Megamage400 *its

  • I think this would sound a little better without the auto-tuning (I think that is what you call that electric sound on your voice) but with a more angry (moral outrage/frustration) undertone. I can hear that tone during the refrain but not as much during the regular lyrics.

  • Great song I am a big Fan

  • Don't forget that we're racists too! Glenn and Ann own our Commie Obama hat!! Commieobama com. Jonathan - I'll send you a hat if you'll write a song about it!

  • u are alienating a portion of your viewers. but not me! :P great song

  • Why is it that anyone who can sing comes up with such hyper-leftist bullshit, Jonathan? Is it because you drink the commie kool-aid, or because your are just a dumbshit? It's 1 of the 2, and neither speaks well about you. By the way, my mothe is a LEGAL immigrant upset about the federal inaction regarding securing the border. And I don't believe nor care if Obama was born in Kenya. I believe that he like Bush is bankrupting and fucking up the country while corrupting the constitution. Dumbfuck.

  • this is one of your best songs. good job :)

  • Cont. And the huge deficit is Obama's fault right? We just love to unfairly blame it on Bush right? Well the bush tax cuts are the single largest piece of the deficit and if it ended today the deficit would shrink by about 30% or more than $300 billion. You just contradict yourself.

  • Cont. And if they knew anything they would know that socialist aspects of this country create things that they like agree with and that benefit them. A successful government takes a balance of capitalism and socialism. I'm 12 by the way.

  • Your right you can't reason with these people. They are ignorant and misinformed wackos and they can be very dangerous. This type of behavior exhibited by these people is the same fundamental behavior that leads to people murdering other people in the name of god. They are both warped extremists.

  • If only all of you were as open and as hard working with your feelings as Jonathan is. Maybe you'd be more than just an angry comment someday.

Disagree? Do your own song and tell us why.

  • You can reason with me. I'm not an idiot, but Obama is Kenyan. Just saying. ;-)

  • I dig the tune, but disagree with the stereotyping and slandering of the Tea Party. Very few are racists, and I have witnessed the Tea Party kick out racists from their ranks. Most in the Tea Party do not believe Obama was born in Kenya, and simply want limited government and the Constitution to be upheld and followed.

  • @rachelkae1 Fair enough. Perhaps it's the way the media portrays people within the Tea Party. Can you point me to Tea Party websites and stuff that isn't rooted in the kind of stuff I'm talking about in the song?

  • this is great. The tea party is a bunch of racist hypocritical snobs. They say keep the government small, but want bigger wars and want to make being gay illegal.

  • @rachelkae1 You witnessed a racists kicked from the ranks of the Tea Party? Okay, who was kicked out? where did this occur? who kicked them out? Were there any other witnesses? Was the kicking preceded by "Once upon a time" and followed up with "and they lived happily ever after"?

  • He doesn't actually hate muslims, hopefully.

  • I liked this guy until pulled this leftwing political crap.

  • Well although I love your videos, I can't say I agree with the video. The Muslim community's plan to build a mosque in the shadows of Ground Zero is insensitive and uncaring.

  • you are becoming better and better^^

  • Can't say I agree with you politically, but I gotta' say the songwriting here is pretty fantastic, man. Love the minor/major feel.

  • @toddyro I love agreeing to disagree.

  • LEGAL immigrants , hell I know illegal immigrants from UK and Italy and both of them are here illegally and support themselves by importing extacy.

  • Is this video about democrates not being able to reason with republicans? I think that's kind of interesting. I agree with Ralph Nader and Ron Paul; we theoretically have two parties, but if the policies never change then what's the difference. Obama originally said he was for a single-payer national health service, but he gave up on that. Nothing big changes, we are just given the illusion of choice.

  • stay out of politics is ur songs plz

  • Great

  • I live in the south--the Bible belt and we're not all crazy here. I agree the Tea Party people are extreme. About the mosque issue, I believe the Muslims should build one, I just have a problem with it being on the 911 site. I believe that would be disrespectful and kind of a slap in the face to those that we lost and those who still grieve.

  • @lizzie39 It's about reconsiliation. If those who are grieving would visit this Mosque, they'd maybe find that not all Muslims are terrorists, and could create healing. Also, the mosque is actually 2 blocks away from ground zero, in now unused building.

  • @therockcookiebottom You don't put a statue of Hitler in Auschwitz, you don't put a mosque at Ground Zero. It's simple.

  • @suddenobsession Godwin's law in full effect! That's a completely inapt comparison. It would be more like if they wanted to build a statue of Osama Bin Laden at ground zero. Which they don't. And Hitler's Nazism, a relatively small group of people bound together by their political beliefs 70 years ago, is completely different from Islam, a religion comprising 1.5 million people (23% of the world's population.

  • @therockcookiebottom 1.5 billion champ

  • @therockcookiebottom don't you find it kind of ironic that they want to build a mosque in that particular spot? Why? I absolutely do not think that all Muslims are terrorists(I don't even think most Muslims are terrorists), but I do believe that having a Mosque there will not heal anyone. It's a sensitivity issue and one that has to do with respect for others feelings. I feel (and I may be wrong) that this could potentially cause riots and more hurt for all. Not to mention--what message do

  • @lizzie39 continue___ what message so you think this will send to those who were reponsible for the 911 attack? I think they will be laughing at us.

  • I have great respect for you Jonathan and I really enjoy what you do. I don't think we have to agree all the time. I am a fiscal conservative, socially moderate-liberal and I don't like feeling like I am being clumped in with all the Bible-thumping crazy right wingers. Does that make sense?

  • @lizzie39 I appreciate that. And that does make sense. I don't think we need to agree all the time either. At all.

  • @lizzie39 I can totally understand how it may seem insensitive and disrespectful. But from the folks' perspective who want to build the mosque, that's the opposite reason that they're doing it. Think about it this way: The reason that it's seen as insensitive is that the murderers were Muslim. The folks who want to build the Mosque want to share with people the truth about what they believe (i.e., love, peace, the same things as most religions) and realize that this spot would be very symbolic.

  • @therockcookiebottom I agree with lizzie. Although many Muslims are friendly people, the heinous crimes of 9/11 was still done in the name of Islam and Allah. It's extremely insensitive to the families of those who died. The folks building the mosque should respect the opinion of other Americans and take it into consideration...which they are not doing. Also, whatever one's opinion is on the topic, the mosque will fuel more hatred and animosity towards Muslims.

By the way, love your songs. =D

  • @lizzie39 It's technically NOT a mosque. A true mosque would not have basketball courts and culinary classes.

  • @lizzie39 i have been saying the same thing people arent going to stand for this quietly

  • That was damn beautiful. Well done!

  • You really are never going to reason with them.

  • Really awesome song! I know your going to get a lot of criticism about it but just ignore it. I really hate the tea "party" hicks/hippies whatever you want to call them...thank goodness I live in a area where people are sane! Keep up the awesome songs you are very talented!

  • AWESOME! One of the best and you look abso delish in this video.

  • Great>!!! I don't know why people treat these tea baggers as a party instead of the religious extremists & idiots they are.... Keep up the great work>!!

  • Should probably stay away from politics

  • @BoilingGold Capitalist all the way.

  • @BoilingGold Depends on what party is in power.

  • I agree with most of your sentiment but not all. Birthers? Nuts. Sarah? Never. Glenn Beck, Ann C and O'Reilly? Will not watch. Illegal aliens? I know a man from Pakistan who had to wait five years to join his wife in the states because of all the red tape to immigrate and yet Mexicans can just trot over and apply for welfare. Just isn't right. This is not a hate comment. I love the song, almost completely.

  • @Philinspaces Thanks for the feedback. I'm of the mind that every one should be welcome. We're all immigrants anyway, whether we came last year, 40 years ago, or two hundred. We all came from somewhere.

  • Ah...I think you already know we look at thing differently politically...so no point in me making a fuss about this song.

  • @Spintown7 Yep! I love that we can agree to disagree and it's not a big deal.

  • Subscribed because of "Steve Job's Mind", unsubscribed because of "The Tea Party".

Incredibly lame and generalized. I almost un-subbed after "Robin Hood Tax", but this one seals the damned deal.

  • @JayMichigan Sorry to hear that.

  • @JayMichigan One person's suck is another person's masterpiece

  • @JayMichigan What part of the song did you not like?

  • @lehman The first verse put me on edge because it generalizes that all tea-party people have the same feelings about the new ground-zero Mosque, and explicitly says that all tea partiers are religious bigots fearful of non-whites.

The immigration thing pissed me off because it infers jingoism and racism as the root of Arizona's attempt to self-govern in the face of unbelievable Latino drug crime. "Hey, we're all immigrants!" is brain-dead meaningless within that context.

    There's more. *pff!*

  • @lehman Furthermore, the chorus isn't really rocket science. Glenn Beck cries, Ann Coulter rants, O'Reilly screams. Those are facts you pick up by reputation, requiring no effort or research. Generalizations.

  • @JayMichigan Wait. I've watched my share of O'Reilly and Beck and listened to Ann Coulter...I don't think I'm generalizing. They've made their careers on the things I mentioned.

  • @JayMichigan Congratz jaymichigan, no one officially cares about your damn deal

  • @Al3xX256 Jonathan did. And HaHa! So did you. So fuck you. :D

  • @JayMichigan Well thanks mr. fucking keyboard warrior.. How hard do you want to fuck me? Too bad you can't sense sarcasm over the internet.. It's either that or you have no sense of humor. :D

  • @Al3xX256 Sarcasm is really hard to sense over the internet! It's definitely a shortcoming.

  • Great song with a message based in logical thinking. Get ready for all the hate comments.

  • Awesome!
