  • @MultiT66 Half right! It's the stb propeller pitch :-)

  • *blararfrghgrghgrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!*

  • Very enjoyable thank you

  • The people that say it's fake are just a bunch of arrogant $@*ers.Stuff like that actually happens.

  • All respect to the Esvagt sailors. They are out there in all sorts of weather, no limit. Their job is to be on location if something happens on the rigs or platforms, and the crew on the rig/platform has to ditch.

  • All respekt to the Esvagt sailors. They are out there in all sorts of weather, no limit.

  • PUKEEEEEEE!!!!!

  • This video is taken from drilling-rig Maersk Endeavour around noon the 20. august 1990 few moments before Esvagt Omega was sent to assist Normann Drott to keep position on the hotelplatform West Gamma which was cougth under tow in this nonpredicted storm who took us all with surprise. So correction this is in fact a summer storm. Hotel Platform West Gamma capsized just after 4 o'clock the next morning, 53 peoble were out swimmig that night no major injuries. quiet a drill :-)

  • Is it dangerous for the ship?

  • What a brave little Ship She is-and a Lifesaver too-I am certain ships have personalities, some are lucky, and as for the men and women who sail the Seven Seas..Best of luck to them. the Sea is a fickle Element, and needs treating with respect..at school, in the winter, we used to sing ''For Those in Peril On The Sea''.

  • in series like deadlyest catch they say that the bering sea is the worst ocean when commin to wether but there aint no diference from the bering sea to the north sea... actually im on the north sea rigth now fishing

  • @Emulen2 and all norwegian fishing vessels go to the bering sea inn vinter time because the wheater is nicer der

  • It will be so fun and exciting to be on that ship

  • The men and women on board these vessels deserve all our respect.

They face the perils of the sea and law so that our civilization keeps going...

2010 is the Year of the Seafarer!

  • @flash123456789flash They are.

  • @flash123456789flash they are highly paid, trust me ;)!

  • Holy Shit!

  • Let's Dive !

  • That's the trouble with a forward bridge, must be like being in a lift in any sort of bad weather. The ships I was on all had bridge aft, and while it did the odd shudder as it pitched down sometimes for the most part it wasn't as uncomfortable as that one looks. Retired now but do know just how bad the N.Sea can be and how quickly it can change. Voyage to Hamburg, flat calm, a day later on the way to the UK hanging on for grim death.

  • 'kinell!!

id be calling for a helicopter by now

lifejacket means fuck all here nigga.

  • call a chopper? what for?? ..we live that life day in day out my dear friend.. you people still think we have a 'good life'? why don't you come out and do what we do ??

  • cool video, at least their bow thruster had a rinse....

  • i passed this boat in a motorized duck punt this day. it was struggling . i was going hunting but weather was bit rough. I nearly got tipped out

  • These are Norwegian supply vessels for the petro-industry? They are immensely strong and can withstand anything.

  • @viceroytennis you`re correct. Can you imagine unloading in this kind of weather!! The crane-operator on the riggs has to have nerves of steel, not to mention the ppl on the boat that has to connect the wire to the cargo. That is something they should have a clip of.

    Norwegian

  • It looks like the ship is driving backwards when the strong big ass Wave hits

  • it pisses me off when people have to compare what they class as 'rough seas' . from the bay of biscay, to the drake passage, from the north seas to the antarctic waters, globally, the world over, the seas are undoubtably unpredictable and the going can be very tough for any vessel and her crew...

  • Seen bigger waves when my ex wife farted in the bath tub ha ha ha

  • @cousiwa09:True, but some regions have bad weather more frequently. Wind, wind direction, current and depth all work together to create massive breaking waves. The problem in the North Sea is the shallow waters combined with remains of tropic storms from the caribbean which are fueled with arctic storms before hitting the shallow waters off the coast of Norway. This is common during autumn and creates rough seas.

  • surfando em alto mar

  • daily life on the sea.. not as easy as seen from your offices or homes..

  • it doesn´t look easy at all from my home ;)

  • OMG

  • I remember as a child on a smallish ferry, my mam was puking into a bin and I was trying to have a shit whilst puking on the bathroom floor, getting soaked by sloshing puke, went to wipe and the fucking toilet roll falls into the vomit, one bloke in the cafe was puking, then eating, then puking some more!

needless to say Im never getting the ferry to sweden again!

  • surely one waffer thin mint?

  • with an egg on!

    "cant im stuffed..."

    my favourate monty scene ever!

  • remember me of my crew on a the sail boat puking as the ride was rough, and they were cursing me while i was making fun of them vomiting.. its sad and funny in the same time

  • All I can say is holy bloody everlasting shit. The North Sea is hell. God bless the sailors who work on her

  • I spent my working life on the deck of trawlers from the arctic circle to the north sea. They all are fearsome in winter, but the arctic storms really scared the shit out of me

  • Looks like she is just not making any headway at all. What a ride!!

  • She's a standby boat, providing safety around a rig. Sails out aberdeen though.

Fun when you're on watch, hellish when you're trying to sleep

  • Esvagt Omega. Multirole AHTS. Built 1975. Length: 64.4 metres. Breadth: 13.8 metres. Draught: 5.32 metres. Tonnage: 1318 GT. Main Engines: Nohab Polar diesel, 2 x 3520BHP. Bollard Pull: 93 tons. Rescue capacity: 140 survivors.

  • I have seen a few like her in the gulf of Mexico.Never been to the north sea.Mostly i am sail to the Caribean and south America.RGDS

  • wave is GIANT!

  • German construction, yeahh

  • the wave at 0:11 was sooo huge!!!!

  • man id love to be on that thing

  • i went green and sickly just looking at this,

  • Most propably she is a suplier boat for oil drills. Heavy seas!!!

  • What kind of ship is that. Is that an ocean tug?

  • Some kind of supply vessel I think!

  • It's a socalled AHTS. Anchor Handling Tug Supply.

It was build in 1976 and have 95 tons bullard pull.

Thats not enough with todays big riggs, so now-a-days it acts a servicevessel for an oil installation in the Northsea where it runs supply, hook up oiltankers and do standby service.

  • @jenspn00

I have been looking down on those ships from the oil rigs/platforms in the Danish sector - I nearly get seasick just by looking at them :-)

  • Lols!D Ship perfoming Beathing Exercising In&Out.

  • that could have bean fun

  • I hope there well paid...

  • You can sail for years but never quite get used to it.

  • People she went on to rescue 46 people from a drifting drill rig West Gamma in the North Sea that night, launched her small rescue craft 7 times. Take your hats off to them!! while you sit in your nice warm offices

  • @maccabone im on a boat

  • jesus

  • there's no question i'd pee myself

    twice

  • Last time I was on the MS Trollfjord from the Hurtigruten I was really the only passenger that didn't got seasick

  • the riverdance was hit off fleetwood by three 60ft waves....she is still on the beach today........nearly new ferry....gutted....

  • "nearly new ferry".

She was more than 20 if not 30 years old SCRAP!

  • Bow against the wind; she's taking it all in her stride. Good little ship.

  • id have to say that the Bering Sea, one helluva boat-eater, is still dethroned by the North Sea..once the North gets going, it's all-out

  • hey doody have you ever had your big toe in the north sea??

  • i live close to the northsea i can't believe that it's that rough

  • You'd be absolutely astonished mate. I live in North Wales, and apparently two large boats have been nailed (although not sunk) by large waves just off the coast.

  • really diden't knew that i live in belgium that

  • captain the toilets blocked.

  • thats why i like more the chopper. not that im afraid of storm, but u cannot eat the good food in messroom and forget about tv watching and worts playing football on work deck

  • These off-shore servicing ships seem amazingly sea-kind. I never heard of one sinking.

  • tøsedrenge! :]

  • Super film !!!! Action in the north sea.

  • Absolutely amazing. I wonder how the captain and officers felt in such huge seas?.
