  • Teaching religion to children is a crime against Humanity. You are doing to children's intellectual abilities what Catholic priests do to children's anuses. When i listen to you brag about your part in the destruction of children I am as offended as you might be listening to a pedophile brag about all the sperm he ejaculated inside a child. You are definately religious. Of this there is no doubt because only the most hateful garbage are religious and hurt children. Shame on you, fucking bitch

  • Hey kay. You are a failed fallen subhuman religious zealot. Your insane superstition and its manual for death and oppression, the Bible, have no place in modern society. You are a craven coward. A treasonous treacherous living nightmare who has a tiny chance to take your fucking craziness and harm a lot of people. Its not just you Kay its all the faithful on planet earth. Try to find some carbon monoxide before you hurt a Human you crazy bitch :)

  • I have more respect for the Atheist that stands his ground.

  • Dole could have done a better job in her ad. But how can you be a Christian, senator, and be pro-choice? God is ashamed of you.

  • THERE IS NO GOD- NOOOOO!

  • XD how do you call a sunday school teacher an atheist?

and since when is 'atheist' a bad word?

  • I think I've let my imaginary friend guide my investment decisions. Oh well, maybe I'll meet some babes in stretch pants as a greeter at wall mart in my golden years.

  • I had planned on only voting in the presidential election until Dole's ad came out; Hagan got my vote this morning and has Dole to thank for it. I'm unconcerned with the religious beliefs of any candidate, but Dole's ad was completely out of line and shows her true character.

  • What the hell is wrong with not believing in God? Where, in the Constitution, does it specify a "religious litmus test" for holding office? Oh wait, I forgot; the Constitution specifically PROHIBITS a religious test.

Of course, Kay Hagan IS a Christian, which is fine, and Elizabeth Dole's attacks on her are just awful fabrications and lies.

    But still...

What's so wrong about not believing in God? Are we electing political leaders, or pastors?

  • That was Ellen Johnson's voice at the end - she appears in the ad (blonde hair)

  • Republicans are big cheaters!

Republicans are about dividing and ruining our country. To make us weak. They think it's okay to make lies up about their opponent.

    Makes me sick!

  • "i SO believe in God!! i'm totally believing in him right now!!"

are we on a witch hunt people? this should be a non-issue

  • Im from CA and all I can say is wow. You tell Dole! lol It is really powerful to see people stand up to the bs that has been flying this year. And great use of the Bible. Anyway I wish you much luck on Tuesday!

  • Very powerful, just like Kay Hagan.

  • Hadouken 波動拳

  • I am disgusted religion has become a litmus test for political office. There should be a don't ask, don't tell policy.

  • Actually, I think there should be a "who cares about your religion" policy,

Religion has no place in politics. The separation of state and church in the US constitution was put there by the founding fathers for a very very good reason.

  • seriously.

    Dole's original ad was reprehensible

    Hagan's response is embarassing

  • really? if i was religious (which i'm not), wouldn't i have every right to be guided by my religious views in making political judgments.

moreover, since a candidate's religious views influence their politics, we're better off with religious people in politics being open about their religious views for that very reason. i mean in deciding whether or not to vote for george bush, wouldn't you rather know than not know that he believes god told him to run for president?

  • No, because religious beliefs are based on faith, not evidence, and so don't have any place in making political decisions which directly impact people.

Political decisions should be made after careful consideration of observable facts, and not on some arbitrary belief which can't be verified.

It doesn't matter if Bush says that God told him to run for president, or if faith motivated Obama and McCain because personal beliefs should never be a factor while making political decisions.

  • I was with you until that whole "I believe in god" crap. You stooped to her level. Lame.

  • You tell her Kay Hagan.

  • And even if she didn't believe in God, who cares? This is why the 2008 election is so important. It's been a while since the Democrats controlled the presidency and both houses of Congress with such a huge mandate behind them being voted in. People are tired of crap like Dole.

  • Exactly. George W. Bush believes in God and Jesus and the whole shabang, and look where that got us. Religion and politics can be a dangerous mix. Liddy Dole just found that out. I hope she and Bob enjoy their dual retirement.

  • He only pretends to believe in God, for political purposes.

  • It matters because she's in North Carolina. Here, the South, is Bible Belt Country! Dole's ad was horrid to Hagan, as she's spent so much time and thought into her religion. I actually agree with you completely, but I think this ad and her campaign will win because of Dole's misstep.

  • Hagan has the right to believe or not believe, but Dole doesn't have the right to lie about it.

  • Senator Dole: Honorable defeat, or crushing train of a landslide hitting you because of your dirty campaigning. Call it, friendo.

  • PWN

  • BOOOOOM!!! HEADSHOT!!!

  • I think Hagen missed a chance here. Yes, she has the moral high-ground; Dole's adds were deplorable, and the Republicans need to be rejected across the board for being so long in step with Bush. But we do not force people to believe in God in this country, and it is a huge problem with America that religion is so intertwined with government. If there was a great, smart, honorable candidate who didn't believe strongly in God (or gods), I would still vote for them! Thomas Jefferson anyone?

  • when all else fails, play the religion card !

  • In my country, the gender card trumps all other cards. Race card and the nazi card are quite powerful also. The religion card does not hold so much weight as hte preceding cards but I guess were godless people... :P

  • Elizabeth Dole is a LIAR and CROOK !!

  • That might be the best ad of the entire year. Liddy Dole is a disgrace to the state of North Carolina, and the country.

  • Not such a a good idea now, huh Liddy? Ray Squirrel, pick your battles. Fact is, while neither party might embrace atheists, you're more likely to get support from a Dem, not a Republican. Kay is not scum. And if you can't discuss your views without engaging in histrionics, then just go away.

  • This is such an incredibly powerful response ad, one of the best this cycle. Not only does she confront Dole's lies, head-on, but wraps her message about jobs and the economy into it. "Bearing false witness against a fellow Christian..." powerful.

  • Nice reply to Elizabeth Dole's horrible ad.

  • One of the best campaign response ads ever.
