  • @JSWM3, how big is your Cagles Map ? I have an 1 1/2 Texas Map Male in a 55 gallon with same filtration, Rena XP 3 (idk if yours is an XP4). Anyways you think they get along and would that be enough filtration ? Also I have fish but so far since I've had my turtle mid July he has not tried to eat any of them. Are Cagles similar in that too ?

Thanks and great setup, check out mine, I would appreciate feedback

  • @hh15england Thanks. My Cagle's has just hit the 2" mark. And yes, a Cagle's and Texas map should have no problems being housed together. But as always watch for aggression and separate if need be. Also, a Rena XP3 should last two Texas/Cagles map hatchling a good while and if both turn out to be male then possibly longer.

  • Can I ask what kind of sand you used at the bottom?

  • @fyaglidere It's washed "play sand" from Home Depot.

  • @JSWM3

How exactly do you 'wash' the sand?.. I would love to know!

    :D

  • O wow such a nice tank setup i wish i could make mine that nice!

  • What camera do you use? And where did you get that tank?

  • How big do all the turtles get like the black knobbed sewback?

  • @xman21196 Male Black Knobs reach about 3.5" - 4.5" adult size and adult females 7"-10".

  • @JSWM3 thax :)

  • what kind of filter do your use? when i place in driftwood my turtle tank becomes brown from tannin.

  • @auto437 The filter is a Rena XP3. Activated carbon works well with removing some of the tannins from driftwood. Otherwise pre-soaking the wood in water prior to adding it to the tank can also help.

  • thats a kul song nice tank i wish i still had my baby turtles but they past away 2 months away

  • how many gallon is that tank

  • @ilikebabyturtle 55 gallons as stated in the title.

  • Really nice setup but do u know where I can buy a Belize slider and what kinds of plants are those

  • Whats the name of the song?

  • Lovely tank! Just one question, what stand are you using for that tank? did it come with it or did you pay for it separately and where?? I'm looking for a stand to hold my 40 breeder. I'm looking for something a little cheaper than the regular stand but that's still strong enough to hold it.

  • @charrfarr Try your local pet store, they should have plenty of options for a 40 gallon breeder.

  • hey what is the song? i know i have it and i cant remember what it is. It's driving me crazy. very nice video by the way i want my future tank setup to look very much like yours. very cool

  • @5wizz Thanks. The song is "recurring" by Bonobo.

  • How much did you pay for that tank? Am trying to upgrade in about two month

  • @slipknotbitches The tank itself was $55. Every now and then Petco has a $1 per gallon aquarium sale.

  • @JSWM3 Awsome, thanks

  • what plant is floating??

  • @CaptainSquirrel195 Just a fake plastic plant.

  • nice setup :D

  • Really nice setup!!!

  • What camera?

  • @TheReptileGuy11 I'm using a Canon DSLR.

  • Beuatiful Setup! What is the size of the tank and what kind of filtration do you use?

  • @Skipper4today Thanks, its a 55 gallon running a Rena XP3

  • @JSWM3 What is the wood in the center? Is it fake or mopani?

  • @Skipper4today It's Malaysian driftwood.

  • @JSWM3 Any where you can get that kind of stuff?

  • @Skipper4today It's not hard to find, most mom and pop pet shops should carry it. If not you can get it online.

  • Awesome setup! Do you have a favorite, I like your belize slider the best.

  • Tank looks great as usual.

I would love to see a video of all your turtles or atleast some of the newer ones

  • @jkl1041 Should have a video of the stripeneck up later this week. Tomorrow I ship out one of my DBT's, the pascagoula map and the s. painted out to new homes. Might try to get a video before they go out though, would be pretty awesome to get all 10 turtles in a video together haha.

  • @BeardieCentral Thanks man.

  • Dude that is kick ass! I love it. How do you feel about the black background? I have been wanted to put one on my 150 for a while now.

  • @perpetualwandrer Thanks man, I use the black backgrounds with my hatchlings as it seems to give them more of a sense of security. It does seem to take some "depth" away from the tank though if that makes any sense. Great for photos though haha. With the bigger tanks it kind of makes things more claustrophobic, kind of why i didn't do it with the planted 75 gallon. Just absorbs a lot of light, not enough to affect the plants, but enough to make the tank look darker.

  • are the plants live

  • @MrSilent937 Nope, not in this tank.

  • what plant is that on top of the waterline ? i would like to get some for my setup

  • @MrSilent937 I think they are called "fancy plants" or something like that. Should be able to find them at your local pet store.

  • do you have a black background on the tank?

  • @chriskon5 yup, the background was painted black.

  • @JSWM3 sweet.

  • wow looks really good and you have such pretty turtles!

  • what camera do you use? its so good!

  • @largepandabutt Thanks, a Canon 5D mkII.

  • Sweet Dude!
