  • The musicians listed on the inner liner of my Vinyl copy of EB 84 listed the following musicans: Dave Edmunds - guitar Pete Wingfield - keyboards Albert Lee - guitar John Giblin - bass Terry Williams - drums Gerry Conway - drums Phil Donnelly -Guitar Jeff Lynn - bass Richard Tandy - keyboards Gerry Hogan - pedal steel guitar I'm not sure which of these performed on this song which I always thought was one of the stronger cuts on the album.
  • Each time I hear an Everly Brothers song, it becomes my favorite song--I've changed my favorite song so many times, but for now, THIS IS IT! Thanks for this video--greatest song ever!

  • This is my favorite of all Everly Brothers songs and I can't find it anywhere to download to MP3. Every other Everly song in the world is out there but not this one :'(

    bloody typical!!!!!!!!

  • Everytime I watch this video, I fixate on Dons sexy lips, and find I start craving sweet juicy peaches to bite into. That lower lip just kills me....ummmm.

  • There have been many Brothers and Sisters groups over the years, but none had the impact of these two boys from Kentucky..

.......Let's STAY DEVOTED To The Everly Brothers.....

    Erik a.k.a. Ricky Teal, Florida.

  • @tickyreal Is there any way to contact the Everly's personally? Love their music and this is really a wonderful song.

  • Still tops for sure,,,RWB

  • Re: the band on this session: Wish someone would come up with their names. The Everlys always had the BEST accompanying musicians.

  • @justmusicandme Isn't one of the guitarists, Phil Donnelly? Not sure of the spelling. Just sure that Don and Phil are the most gorgeous! Love it! Darling song too...

  • @belovia50 I love this video, too! I really don't know who the guitarists are, but they are great!

  • Great stuff! Anybody know who the band is? I think I recognize Jay Graydon, but other than that I don't have an idea.

  • Great stuff! Anybody know who the band is? I think I recognize Jay Graydon, but other than that I don't have an idea.

  • the phrase " I need you just to survive "

..a few of the best words, ever used in a song!

  • I still want Don's glasses! ha! too cool....classic and sexy.

  • Cool.

  • Don is 72 now...but if he bought a ticket to Paris...I would love to be on board! he is still just a love......

  • I saw a fairly recent pic of Don, and except for his hair color, he hasn't changed that much.

  • i saw him the other day.....and he does still look so good....just a doll. I met him back in 91 or 92...he is a sweetie.

  • you saw him the other day?? Lucky you!!

Would love to tell both Everly's that I loved them from day 1..and will continue to enjoy their songs together & somgs from their solo years!! nobody sings better!!

  • Hey Flashhand1!

I did see Don the other day. we live about 2 miles from each other and I must admit that at 72, he is still just as good lookin! still sexy and I still crush on him! hes also a sweetie. met him in 91' and about passed out when he put his hand on my shoulder during conversation...

  • @edwardroxursox Maybe you might have your years mixed up? You age says 17 on your channel so you would have been born in 1993? Or your age is listed wrong? Don is a sweetie!!!!

  • still a good looking man.....love him and Phil....but more than that...I love the voices and writing .....

  • I love this song! I want Don's sunglasses! he looks so good here......

  • strange sounding mujsic. what kind is it? frank who?

  • Amazing talent...love them!

  • gosh, they are so good looking. i love this song alot. they sound like angels as always.

  • Where can you find this video? I would love to have it. I hope you don't ever take this off here.

  • una verdaderaa joyita esta cancionn es magnificaa, en todos los sentidos los tonos graves se conectan muy bien con los agudos

  • Something about Phil reminds me of Paul McCartney here. It's a shame I didn't see him first. I think I would have "loved" him better than Paul. (when I was 13, I decided I would marry Paul when I grew up) Dreams, dreams, dreams, huh?

  • Thanks for another 1 -of-a- kind great posting! As long as you and others keep putting them up, I'll keep watching and LISTENING!

  • Another fantastic song by them...RWB

  • does anyone know the guitar chords to this song

  • Great song, especially the way he sings the lyric:

"But look at me I'm always unhappy"

    Very Everly Brothers style!

  • These guys still have talent and great harmony. My daughter says no one harmonizes like the Everly's do. "You Make It Seem So Easy" is one I like, along with "Always Drive a Cadillac", "Following The Sun" and many other of their 'newer' songs. Having seen the Everly Brothers several times, I never get tired of them.

  • They make it seems so easy!

  • These guys were, and maybe still are, just so great.

  • Saul

You sent this to me at the perfect moment!

    D

  • the EVERLY's as purveyors of reggae? interesting... i like. of course, i'm biased though.

  • this is one i do not like, sounds like they are trying to change their style to hard rock. they have several songs i love

  • Wow. I thought Id heard all their songs!

  • Thanks for the heads-up, ChiseInyc. I'll try to find that CD! :)

  • You can get every song from the 3 Mercury studio albums if you buy the following CD: "The Everly Brothers On the Wings of a Nightingale: The Mercury Studio Recordings (1984-1988)." Luckily, it's not as rare as finding "EB84," alone, so is cheaper. "Some Hearts," the 1988 album, didn't sell well, but has excellent songs on it.

  • I have this album...and your right, not all songs are on the Mercury CD. What a comeback this album made for them. Unfortunatly it seemed to only get the attention of the die hard Everly fans at the time. But if nothing else I did get to see them in concert through the 80's and early 90's.

  • Love this song!!! Have always been a fan of the Everlys!

  • Not every song from EB84 is on "The Mercury Years", but many are...and the songs from the "Born Yesterday" album alone are worth it. I think "Born Yesterday" is the best album, produced by Dave Edmunds every song is amazing], you'll usually only see the vinyl 33 for sale... I have a cassette but it only plays on my big stereo ...older cassettes can hang up on portable players.

  • I'm lucky enough to own a copy of "EB84" on CD, and there isn't a dud on the entire disc. From stompers like "Danger Danger" and "I'm Takin' My Time" to beautiful ballads like "Asleep" and "The Story Of Me", it's a collection I can't imagine being without.

  • The Everlys recorded four albums for Mercury one was a "live" album. The other three are studio albums, "EB84"[1984], "Born Yesterday" [1986] and "Some Hearts"[1988. EB84 is very hard to get. However, you can get many songs from all three albums [including EB84] on "one CD" called, "The Everly Brothers, The Mercury Years".

  • is that what they call a slide guitar that one of the group is playing and do you know what the principle of the slide is? just curious.

  • fsigmon, slide guitar often is usually just a tube on the finger, that the player slides against the strings to keep changing the sound.

  • I first heard the Everly Brothers on their EB84 album, which is where this song is from (I think). I've tried to find EB84 on CD, but it's always expensive. Is it that rare? Anyway, anybody have a clue where I might could get it for cheap? :)

  • if you find out let me know, i would like to have it also.

  • Watch ebay, especially for "buy it nows", since they are snapped up pretty quick. Amazon is always pricy for rare items.

  • Don wrote this one ....multi talented guy!

  • one of my fave all time EB songs from the '84 reunion album. a true classic and a GREAT song. don's a little nashville--ed out but phil gives it his all, as usual.

  • phil just put his whole soul and body into a song. great performer.

  • the name of this song fits them

  • Martin Jenner did play with the Everlys ...I don't know he's in this session.

  • yes you're right.

  • who is in the backup group, hhas thar guy playing a slide quitar. i just wondered, because its not their group. usually its albert lee, pete wingfied, i think he great on the bass guitar and when he plays on the steele guitar, i get the shivers, i think it is martin

    jenner. just curious

  • Guess it's '84 according to the screen note.

  • This is fascinating, love it too. Anyone know the date?

  • I love it too!! How unique!! Thanks!!

  • I love this! Thanks for posting it!
