Company managers still make salaries as their base pay. Whatever investing they do is in addition to their salaries, not to replace it. I don't like gross overcompensation, either, but investors can be anybody as far as publicly traded companies go. They don't just have to be people from within the companies. They can be people outside as well. Even MLMs have outside investors who buy their stocks. I guess that would make them doubly bad, since they have both kinds of residuals.
As far as recruiting goes, I didn't say that standard businesses don't recruit. I said they don't recruit the same way as MLMs. In other words they recruit by seeking potential employees then hiring them. Even insurance salespeople who make commissions are hired, as opposed to recruited the way that MLMs recruit. And the positions in standard companies serve far more practical and productive purposes than positions on recruitment chains, which all serve the same purpose anyway.

I was like dude both my parents make 250K a year and much more in savings they don't need my help. Then he told me that he is going to make more money than my parents. I just laughed at him. True story... my friends little brother worked at the mc donalds in the skydome (toronto) he was promoted to management within 6 months. got to see every Blue Jays home game (including the 2 world series runs) paid his way through university and is now one of the leading investment brokers on bay street (candaian wall street). a guy that smart do you think he would give it all up to flog amway or acn. give your head a shake. I used to be in ACN. I hated it but the people under can surpass the person above them.
For example: you are an ETT & you only have a ETT leg & a QTT leg. Your ETT leg gets 3 etts under them & becomes ETL.
It's still bullshit though because even though it's a tiny bit better. These bullshit mlms will always share something alike with pyramids & that's LOTS OF LOSERS with little winners.
A $41 phone plan you personally sell will make you 10cents per month.
Fuck ACN, they can all burn in hell.

Similar to a pyramid scheme. the guy running the scheme approaches a few people and says if you invest in this thing youll double your money, the people invest and sure enough they get double their money back..of course the guy who starts the scheme gets a commission..he convinces the first investors to bring more onboard..the ones higher up on the scheme get their money back while the ones on the bottom dont..and it eventually collapses

In case you pyramid pushers haven't noticed, MLM critics do know the legal definition of pyramid scheme. So you should know that it is possible to refer to an MLM as a pyramid scheme without necessarily using the term in its legal sense. That being said, MLMs are pyramid schemes. It is the recruitment model that makes them pyramid schemes. The sale of products and services is just a way to get around the law so they can protect their precious pyramid because that's what they care about.

Company managers still make salaries as their base pay. Whatever investing they do is in addition to their salaries, not to replace it. I don't like gross overcompensation, either, but investors can be anybody as far as publicly traded companies go. They don't just have to be people from within the companies. They can be people outside as well. Even MLMs have outside investors who buy their stocks. I guess that would make them doubly bad, since they have both kinds of residuals.

As far as recruiting goes, I didn't say that standard businesses don't recruit. I said they don't recruit the same way as MLMs. In other words they recruit by seeking potential employees then hiring them. Even insurance salespeople who make commissions are hired, as opposed to recruited the way that MLMs recruit. And the positions in standard companies serve far more practical and productive purposes than positions on recruitment chains, which all serve the same purpose anyway.

In 2001, a friend from school tried to sucker me going into his pyramid scheme. Trying to tell me that if I joined that I could help my parents retire. I was like dude both my parents make 250K a year and much more in savings they don't need my help. Then he told me that he is going to make more money than my parents. I just laughed at him. Fast forward to 2008 he works at a fast food joint and I got a career as a computer programmer.

1) Like you said one way MLM's make their money is through the enrollments of new distributors.(Startup Fee)
2) One thing that you fail to leave out is that the way the people at the top make insane amounts of money in residual checks is when their downlines purchase products on autoships.
Companies make the downline stay on autoship because if you don't order a certain amount of product a month...You don't get paid.

True story... my friends little brother worked at the mc donalds in the skydome (toronto) he was promoted to management within 6 months. got to see every Blue Jays home game (including the 2 world series runs) paid his way through university and is now one of the leading investment brokers on bay street (candaian wall street). a guy that smart do you think he would give it all up to flog amway or acn. give your head a shake. Working at Mc Donald is a more ehtical way to make a living

Yes I personally know people who lost THOUSANDS and went bankrupt from investing their money into Pyramid Schemes. Don't do it, the only way to make even a little money is to constantly steal money from others - which is ILLEGAL!

Well you should try and get your money back man. If you want to invest in a business, create your own and be an entrepreneur! Make sure its NOT a pyramid scheme though, because its illegal and has many consequences.

Yeah, like forfun said, create your own business. Get really good at it and then hire and train some people to help you so you can free up your time so you can enjoy the money you're making. And if you want to make more money, then hire and open more outlets. If you don't have the time then train the people you have to hire and open more outlets...oh wait that sounds like a pyramid! Now I'm confused, should I just be an employee and help my employer achieve their goals and dreams?

Listen to the video strawman. THeres a HUGE DIFFERENCE between Pyramid Schemes and a REAL JOB.
IN A REAL JOB, ANYONE can make it to the top and be promoted. In a pyramid scheme its IMPOSSIBLE for anyone at the bottom to be at the top, the same con artists on the top will always be making more than the sheep at the bottom.

Right on! The sad thing is these Con artist thrive in Asia! While they might get their ass sued in the states or Europe they get to run away from this problem in Asia. I'm not sure if its bribery/corrupt legal system or pure ignorance on the part of consumers in Asia. They often sell some miraculous pendant or crystal that can cure all sorts of illness and usually have some sort of mumbo jumbo science explanation which if you studied 3rd grade science, you know its pure bullshit!
